After watching this once again, I am very tempted to go D2 Houston>D4 Yeo and F8 Thomas>F2 Fyfe. Just means I would be going from 4 to 3 deep in the backline, but my fwd line would be better with a stronger bench, Wilson would go from onfield to F8.
You're my favorite SC Content Creator. Love the way you articulate your thoughts and structure your videos. If it wasnt for R0 and the byes this might be one of the most open starts to a SC eyar ever with the number of different routes and options we can approach the season with. I plugged my value team and GnR team into an excel sheet to compare best 18 points, byes, value price rises - and by Rd6 both teams are within 5 points and 5k value change of each other. Finding it really hard to pick which path to take; currently I am thinking about what my trading strategies would dictate in the two teams - which players in my value team would I be down/upping by Rd5 and Rd6
I really like watching you and Jords to compare my team to the two of you and feel I am going alright. My main difference in the backline is I have Houston D2 and Coleman D5. I could afford Stewart, but would only have $500 left in the bank. We both have Bont, Martin, Crouch (Gulden & Green are my other two), same rookies except I have Windsor for Sharp. I've had Gawn & Grundy all pre-season, but am considering Xerri for R2. We have the same onfield fwd line, except Fyfe, I have Wilson in his place and Lazzaro F7.
I based my structure on the following: - At least 3 week in week out captain picks across at least two lines - No more than 2 premium per each bye round - No more than 4 players with history of injury susceptibility - Job security - Value & cash generation potential - The ability to make 12 double trade upgrades (24 trades) over the season. This is based on an estimate to use about 10 for injuries, 2 sideways trades for bad pick / form slump and 2 for sideways trade optimisation in finals The make up of number of premiums V mid pricers V rookies or how many premiums per each line for me is not a concern.
Yo JD, can you give some insight on the 3rd ruck pick. Both your team examples have Naismith. If Nank proves fit and available for Rnd1 what are your options? Thoughts on using Livinstone as a Sunday loop or do you prefer the idea of a third ruck potentially playing to generate cash? its only 20k difference between naismith and livinstone but still, i just want to know what you plan on doing with Naismith down the line and how much does he have to play/avg to make it worth it. Thanks mate
Nice vid - I think people are a bit quick to jump off Flanders, he was a machine last year. The combination of how he, Grundy and Miller (and to a lesser extent Jordon and Gulden) look will decide my structure for me
With the second strategy I just can’t see how u can start Martin. There’s your 6 def already and no spots for the obvious missing def premos and players who we know will pop up. Great insight however thank you. Thinking I’ll be guns and rookies mainly
Williams won't be a keeper so eventually trading him out for 💰 and have Nico slot in there. Doubt all 6 stay fit through the year so injury will provide opportunities to jump on anyone missed (if I go this route)
I think this year the forward line is the make or break for most teams, personally I went no one over 270k in that line which allows me Daicos, Young , Wang, Yeo, Coleman , Williams / Bont ,Gulden, Rozee, Steele, Martin, Wines , Sanders, McKercher / Gawn, Xerri . Bench - Reid , Coffield /Sharp, Clark, Lazzaro / Naismith /Mead , Cadmen Super coach predicted score 1725 .
@@ot-slice295No , I don't want to follow the crowd , however after a few rounds if he looks the goods of course will jump on , but realistically he has never been a great player so it is a wait and see for me. My most expensive player in the forward line is 275k
Looking good. My structure of the last 2 days has got 5 of my 6 onfield defenders the same. Only 4 of the mids (I spent up on Bont and ran Roberts onfield), 2 of 3 Rucks (Xerri) and 4 of 6 forwards. Benches look remarkably similar too. Reid down to Windsor would give you Bont, but then you're relying on two of the three captain choices being in the same team.
Just wondering what you think Holmes will average, if he's not going to average his Worthwhile Average? Just seemed he is playing the same role as Martin with maybe abit of mid time, and seemed his teammates are looking for him always out of defence. Also probably less competition than Martin, who has Redman, McGrath, Ridley, who want to be ones getting it out of defence. TIA. Another great video
I'm a little interested in Holmes, but yeah 30% CBAs and I want those who will definitely get DPP which is Martin for mine. Holmes has a bit of injury history and while the rolled ankle vs Essendon was probably nothing it's a fun reminder! Could be a good option I correct to no doubt
Put in english and youll be surprised what you can still fit in your team. the forward line is filled with people under 300, the midfield has 450 - 550 value players, the bench rookies are very good. The only issue for me is the defence im not 100 on it
A thought that has been running through my head. I've been tempted to run the same back 6 with Martin also in the mids. Once we get to Round 6, if everything goes to plan, then we already have our 6 defender premiums. Are we happy with this or are you slightly worried that others like Sinclair, Sicily, Houston, Ryan or maybe even a Short could eventually hurt us down the road.
40 trades, someone will surely end up injured eventually. Think you might end up bye flipping into one. Not too worried if I don't start the perfect top 6 if the value is there
I think with 40 trades and heaps of dudes in that 2-300k mark who are probably going to average close to a ton, the traditional guns and rookies needs to be pushed out. I personally think the coaches who will be at the top will be the ones who picked the right players in that price range. Then that traditional idea of "keepers", well why am I going to trade out a bloke thats cost me 250k and is putting up close to a ton every week? I
I wouldn't drop McKercher, sure the weekends score wasn't great but the role is awesome and he's had very good junior numbers. If you're set on Bonner I'd try and find another way

Wow - to go through the spreadsheets and come out with that little difference just highlights the complexity in the decision

Glad to see you corrected your thinking on the impact of best 18 scoring on team structure.
Definitely lends itself to a more guns n rookies approach.

Love the strategy dude. The haters will come at you if you stray from the mean. Of all the content creators you are one of the best
Thanks mate, nice of you to say
Good Luck JD, I've seen a lot of similar structures but with different mid prices and guns. Should be an exciting season
How could it, with somewhere around 40 thousand trades? I'd prefer 10 over 40, but then again, 20-24 is ideal. _*obviously*_.
You too murky, good to see you back for another year
I loved the way you went through the different type of teams you could have JD. I feel I'm a mixture of a GnR & value team.

If no playing R3s then 102k ruc/fwd like livingstone or finbar will be the go

Many will jump back on if he fires R1 and/or some of the mid pricers look poor

This guns and rookies coach is almost exactly my team right now
I think this year the forward line is the make or break for most teams, personally I went no one over 270k in that line which allows me Daicos, Young , Wang, Yeo, Coleman , Williams / Bont ,Gulden, Rozee, Steele, Martin, Wines , Sanders, McKercher / Gawn, Xerri . Can you post a link to the extension your using for dark mode please, our eyes hurt steering at our teams for hours.
There are tons of extensions that do it

Good thinking! I try not to sacrifice the rookies I like to fit in premiums but I can see why that would happen if Windsor goes well this week

For AF, do you prefer English or Marshall and are you considering either as a starting option?
I'm still on Xerri/Grundy in AF I think I probably lean English despite the fact he's not value
If we consider Yeo & mid pricers as cover for premiums on a bye, it allows eg Gulden or Green for Bont? 🤔
Definitely could
Which extension are you using for the SC dark mode, JD?

The only extension i found was Super Dark Mode on Google Chrome
I've always liked dark reader extension for Firefox. Imagine it works for Chrome too
It’s not an option on SuperCoach just search up dark mode chrome extensions and there’s lots of them 👍
