Wow!! I have never heard of magical realism before!! I really enjoy abstract realism because of the dream like essence. Do you have any tips for drawing realism with coloring pencils? I have recently attempted to try drawing portraits, but I am kinda struggling with finding the right colors for skin tones. Also, would you recommend color blocking it, and starting from darkest to lightest like painting?
I always tend to work in many layers, so I usually start with the lightest color and build it up from there. Skin tones are fun but they can be challenging, especially when also considering the space and lighting around the figure. My channel is new still but I'm hoping to get out some videos that are entertaining and also informational. Maybe I will work on one about skin tones soon!
The painting was amazing
Thanks! I appreciate it. The video quality uploaded wrong so I will have a better version up soon
