My mother in-law lived in Florida for many years. We never went to Florida in the summer months. It's literally like standing on the sun. We really loved March and May.

Yeah, I agree, even though I live in Seattle, it would be great to live in Florida. It would be great to visit Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort or Legoland.

Another bad month to avoid Florida is Late August to early October since that is the peak of the Hurricane season as bad storms may force park closures and ruin trips. Going in November (minus week of Thanksgiving) or first half of December is prob best time to go or late April until Memorial Day to avoid any storms.
Worst time to go is 2nd half of June until Mid August and 2 weeks at end of December(Dec 20th-Jan 2nd) is time to avoid. If you don’t have kids you can wait until mid January and it will be less packed.

I am not planning a trip to Florida. No way, no how. I will not give one penny to that state.

I usually visit in the summer when everything is open, even though it's usually very busy. But if you plan accordingly and go to a specific park on a specific day, you'd be amazed by how much you can get done without having crowds get in the way. However, I think I'll try visiting in February one year as it looks to be a lot less busy, and hopefully a lot less pricey. I definitely don't suggest going in October. I tried that one year and it was amazingly more busy then the summer months.

2:05 Not if you go to extreme southern Florida though that's alot farther away from the theme parks.

4:19 The first week of June is my personal pick for at least one of the best weeks to go. You'd even be still be taking advantage of Florida's "getting away from the cold" quirk if you're coming from the north because the northern US isn't guaranteed true summer weather during early June. I always went on my beach vacation during the first week of June every year when I was growing up.

I was surprised to hear you say that May was a good time. Right now is when we visited in 2021, and it was by far the busiest of all our visits. It's cheerleader takeover across all Orlando parks right now. For people outside of the cheerleader bubble, you'd be shocked at how many cheerleaders there are in the country, and basically all of them are in Orlando, flooding the parks, at the beginning of May. I would wait a week or 2, then it should be fine.
Regarding January & February, it won't be empty. We ran into huge crowds in January, as half of Brazil was there. It's their summer break, and they flood Florida. Not as busy as March or early May, but still busier than you would think.
A good time for me has been the very end of February, as South America's summer breaks are ending, but our Spring Break hasn't begun. September or late August seems like the best time for Disney. The best time for SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, & Universal is all of November prior to Thanksgiving week, especially that week before, when all the thoosies are at IAAPA instead of going to the parks, and all others are waiting for Thanksgiving break.

September is a good month for fewer lines. But It's still sweltering and the threat of hurricanes is real. Irma was not a good experience.
