This is one of many reasons we homeschool. We like taking our vacations whenever we want to and when crowds are lower. My husband and I had our honeymoon at Disney World in January 2003 and it was awesome! No lines, the weather was warm enough for tank tops in the daytime and just a light jacket at night. We loved it! We are going back for our 20 year anniversary the first week of November this year.
We’re at Universal for 1 week and Disney for 2 weeks between August 13th to September 3rd. We’ll just be taking plenty of breaks with the heat & hope that the queues won’t be ridiculous. We’re just happy that we are finally able to come over from the U.K. again
Shhhh!! Rick!! You're giving away all the good info!! 😂 Just teasing! Great video and agreed with everything you outlined. Definitely prefer the parks in the winter months and very early spring. I usually try to avoid April-September. Excited to experience HHN for the first time this year!! 😄 If not for HHN and the winter OI meet ups, I'd avoid the parks April-December! 🤣
You must’ve read my mind! I was just looking for a video like this yesterday, and I couldn’t find anything super direct like yours. Thanks and keep up the good work!
I hope June is just fine because our trip is booked and where coming with our annual passes. . I’m looking fo for my butter beer 🍺. And hopefully to see you Nikki. For the first time.
That’s just great Rick. All we’ll here we come. It doesn’t matter.where going universal and Ebcot. It’s flower and garden time, and there’s new things two
I returned to my address and booked two more trips for home not long after I got to my apartment like many of us out of state passholders do! The first is those 2 weeks after labor day and the second I'm looking for a crowded fun filled time and getting a family getaway; not going anywhere with my family, but rather going by myself Christmas through NYE to get away from my family. It looks so fun with Hogsmeade being decorated and the lights and festivities!
Me and my family went to Walt Disney World from May 26-30, then to Volcano Bay waterpark on May 31st and finally Universal on June 1st. All the parks were busy and super hot - the humidity was intense 🥵🥵🥵🥵 we’re from Canada🇨🇦 and some Canadians couldn’t handle the intense humidity especially my mom. She always gets sick every time she comes home from Orlando because the humidity doesn’t agree with her immune system. Despite all that, we still had a nice family vacation, only the hot weather doesn’t make us completely comfortable
Great video Rick! Another good time for low crowds is early November, post-HHN and before Thanksgiving week. We've gone last 3 years, and crowd levels were pretty low.
That’s when we go. This last November was actually pretty busy though, because it was the week they opened up international travel! We love the Christmas decorations up too!
Hi Rick!!! Great Info! Thanks!! I've been all seasons and gotta tell that my fave always will be February (Before Presidents day - weekend)💞 Because of the weather and lower crowds!
I was there at a great time in early November last year. Very low crowds, short lines. It was the week after "Jersey Week" (when the Northeast gets a week off school), and before Thanksgiving. Some years, that may be just a one week window. Last year was a 2-week window, and it seemed like the perfect time for low crowds.
That’s when I’m going this year. The week after Jersey week and a week before thanksgiving. Excited to enjoy the Christmas festivities with hopefully low crowds!
@@SamWiseTheGrey I'll be in Florida that same week this year. My Universal pass has expired, so I'll be doing SeaWorld & Busch Gardens parks this time.
Early August was the only time that fit into all our schedules so we picked a premium hotel so we could get express passes, and we are doing 5 days so hopefully we have enough time to do everything we want despite crowds and weather.
I went in 2020 the 2nd week of December for my birthday and it was so chill. I'm taking a chance this year and booked for Dec 16th, hoping all goes well
Aaaand. August & September are peak months during hurricane season. While there aren't that many storms to make direct landfall in Central Florida, they can still make enough of an impact on Florida's weather to rain out a vacation week. Also, during HHN, regular park hours close earlier in the evening, shortening the day's visit.
Hello thank you for the information, I agree my first time going was my Bday July 23rd of last year and i was dying lol but had to be in Diagon Alley on my Bday.. I’m from Az so I’m used to the heat however that humidity got me nauseous so I broke up my park days to go back to the hotel to shower and cool off. But I will be going back this year in November, 14-18th to be exact and was wondering what the weather will be like.. I’m a hoodie and shorts kinda guy so was wondering if the weather will be cool enough or will it be hot / humid ?
We decided on the last week of august since we figured that is when kids will be returning to school and made it so we could still hit it in the summer. We thought about choosing September, but my work schedule didn’t allow it. Hope we are going at an okay time even though you said august is busy!
Rick! Thanks for all the great tips but you completely ignored NOVEMBER!!! Which is when I'm GOING!!! What can i expect in November, the 8th to the 13th 2024? Thanks again for everything you do😊
Thanks man!! I am from Canada and am planning a trip to Florida (mainly for Universal and Disneyworld). This is my first time going there, so I wanted to know the best times. Jus one question: Are there any express passes in those parks? If yes, how effective/useful are they in avoiding crowds?
Excellent video Rick, I think you nailed it. Visiting in November 2021 I noticed the difference with the week before Thanksgiving and the week of Thanksgiving. Boy did the crowds of the Thanksgiving week go through the roof 🤣🤣. I think you covered all the bases, is this a one off or are you planning similar video's on different things?
I'm surprised you didn't mention the first couple weeks in November...seems like these would have a lull too, no? I'm most worried about avoiding crowds.
I’m going next week! May 14-18. I’m a little nervous. Never went in may before. So I’m not sure how crowds will be. I usually go in February and September!
Mid to late September used to be my go to when we would vacation at Disney every year. The lack of crowds more than made up for the weather. These days I have been going to universal either just before or after thanksgiving and it has always been decent weather and good to ok crowds. It can be a bit chilly from time to time so if you have people who love to swim keep that in mind when going in the cooler months. It’s Florida but not every day is hot
@@jei_dorado September is one of the more rainy months. But my experience is usually it rains for 15-20 minutes then stops. Does that for 4-5 days or so then you get a day where it cuts loose. But then it’s dry for some days before it’s starts with the short showers again. With the temp the showers were always a welcome relief and we never had many problems caused by the rain. If you have a multiple day trip planned I wouldn’t worry all that much about it
@@merkerb Thank you so much for the response! I've been searching for answers to my question but they're not as detailed as what you've provided. This helps us a lot with preparing for our trip. 😁
My family will be heading to Orlando in September for a five night club level stay at portofino bay! My husband found an incredible deal! And it was LESS than the same number of days a DisneyWorld moderate resort. 🤦🏻♀️ oh disney. I’m sorry we have to cheat on you with universal. As much as I love French quarter, I’ll take a week feeling fancy at Portofino Bay any time!!! 😻 we are so excited. Who ever thought it would be universal giving us that feeling of value for the money being spent?! They sure did pounce on the opportunity! Considering that Chapek so obviously went to the Joy and Magic Tank and live-streamed himself emptying into the Florida swamp…I would imagine even Gatorland gives happier not being ripped off feels than WDW at the moment. 🤷🏻♀️ 😉 Thanks for this video!!! Very helpful indeed. ❤️
well shoot! We are visiting Memorial Day and according to Touringplans guys it was said to be at a 5 out of 10. And we have our tickets already so I guess we will just go with it but do you recommend Universal Express Pass? WE already bought tickets without it but not sure how to add the pass. Can you help with how to do this?
Hi, can anyone recommend which beach is the nicest to visit for vacation? We're staying in kissimmee in early July. We've gotten loads of cool tricks for our vacation off you Rick and Nikki so thanks for that!
When I'm in Orlando, it's Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic and Clearwater or St. Pete Beach on the Gulf. Indian Shores or Sand Key Park for a quieter beach.
I want this say yes and no, because I mean some people still work during the summer months (the first week and until Monday if the the seconds kids are still in school), but kids are out if school, so more families start going. I would say it is maybe just a little bit less busy on weekdays than it is on weekends though. I believe there are other reasons why the weekends might be more full than weekdays in general.
Great video but you touched on every month except May. We are going the 3rd week of May, so the weekend before Memorial Day, to celebrate my son's high school graduation. I know it will be hot but hoping crowds won't be too terrible. We are staying at a Universal hotel to take advantage of the unlimited express passes but would love not to have to battle the crowds too terribly. In your experience, is this a decent time to go?
Hi Rick, you mentioned every month except May! we are booked for next year (6th May 2022 arrival) can you give us a clue as to what we can expect crowds and weather wise please? Don't worry we only want a guide not a 100% guarantee!! All the best Dave and Clare
You didn't talk about november? I always hear early November after Halloween event is good as well. Like first 2 weeks of November. But nobody ever talks about that time frame
I'm going the second to last week of October this year! Sounds like a happy medium to me! Hopefully not too hot and not too crowded, especially since we're doing a Mon-Thurs
