I’ve got a Roscoe 9 as well that I’ve been enjoying a ton! Yeah pretty sure the paint splatter is unique to each frame, yours looks different than mine and I’ve seen some in trek stores that vary with the paint splatter pattern. So cool. I’ve done a few changes to mine but glad I found a channel with someone who’s documenting it all!
Just got mine 3 weeks ago paid $1,499.00 out the shop with new Shimano flat pedals and gel saddle..just added P&W loom moss green Lx grips for comfort..
Just bought this bike yesterday. I've been riding a Marlin 8 for the past two years, which is a wonderful bike, but I guess my riding style has become more aggressive, because I started damaging the wheels on it (it's in the shop right now with a bent rear axle), so I figured it was time to upgrade. My Roscoe came with TKR Slate EVO brakes, which are supposedly comparable to the Shimano M6120 it's listed with on Trek's website, so I guess Shimano is still having trouble meeting demand. Only one ride so far around my neighborhood (local trails are closed because of heavy rain), but the brakes seem to work well enough. I'll see how it goes with more saddle time, but I can always replace them if they don't perform as well as I would like, or maybe my local Trek store can swap them out as a warranty repair? Overall first impressions are very positive. It's a very smooth and light feeling bike that does a great job soaking up bumps. And this is by far my favorite paint job on a mountain bike. It just looks very rugged. I also appreciate the fact that that it's not bright and eye catching, which could potentially make it less attractive to thieves who might be inclined to dismiss it as a dirty old bike. Got a great deal on it, too. The tag in the shop read $2700. I asked the salesman if he could match the price listed on Trek's website, which is currently $2500. The salesman said, "Sure. And just to make it even easier for you to bring this bike home today, I'll knock another $400 off." So I got a brand new Roscoe 9 for $2100.
Bought mine Roscoe 9 3 weeks ago, price was $1, 999.00 walked out of the trek bike shop price $1, 499.00 with new Shimano $99 flat pedal and gel added saddle thrown into the deal, I just replaced my grips to P&W loom Lx moss green color grips what difference in feel and comfort going to ride Sunday at our stare bike park can't wait..
@@jeffreyjuneau1959 Woah! The Roscoe 9 is an absolute steal at that price! It's a great bike. I've been riding my Roscoe pretty hard for the past nine months, and it has held up exceptionally well. You're going to love it.
@Durwood71 raining here for 13 days straight, going Sunday to ride at our state park where they had build few different trails with different challenges levels, road there 3 weeks ago and was fantastic rode 2 trails and was worn out. Plan on staying a bit longer to ride more on agility sections and low key roll over sections try to go catch some air,, I live in south Louisiana below New Orleans, very humid here 80 to 90% plus humidity very tough to ride in. I start hydrating 2 days prior using liquid to aid in that 1 a day 3 the day of riding helps a bunch. Only up grade so far is I ordered a pair of P&W loom lx moos green color grips to help in feel and I think at times I hold grips to tight, will order the loom drop post lever next up grade. You looking at any up grades.?
Thanks for a great and honest review. Loved how you showed it close up and didn’t rush the review like some people do. I’m in the UK, and I’m fortunate to live right by Cannock Chase forest, which has some great trails. I’ve just ordered a Roscoe 9 in the crimson colour, it will be my first ever Trek bike, so I’m super excited to test it out. Thanks again for the informative review 👍🚴🏻♂️💨💨
Really love the ride and setup of the Roscoe 9 but don't dig the sand and olive paint colour scheme. Wish there was an additional colour option like the crimson that is available in Europe. Hopefully, Trek will add an additional colour scheme for 2024.
frame wise, Roscoe feels noticeably more ridged than Marin and just the air-shock alone on Roscoe gives much better experience on rougher tracks. adjust the shock for riding type and weight and also lockout the derailleur when coming down the hill to reduce amount of chain slapping.
Nice video... cool funky Army colour stunning... sound's like this 'Roscoe' 2023 new model is a bicycle ready for any trail or rough suface that comes in it's way!! 😊 "Giant" fan here, thou both brand's made by the same country ...Trek are just as good but let's hope the price is fair iñ.... I think the blue is a nice color, but here’s the problem from a distance all those colors look like Marlin bike’s. The tan olive color is the one you definitely can tell is a Roscoe
Hello was wondering if you could help with making my mind up if I should get. Large or xl bike I’m 6”3 and 35inseam ride around town with my son and his the odd trails with him looking at trek Roscoe 8
I am 5.9 and I went with a medium large. I had a medium Marlin that felt just a little too small for me, but then again, I like the feel of a bigger bike
I ended up going with the Forekaster in 2.40 front and rear on my 23 Roscoe. The Rolling resistance feels significantly reduced and cornering is grippy and predictable .
The Marlon and the Roscoe are complete two different bikes, the geometry and everything the marlin is more of a commuter bike. The Roscoe is more of a hard-core Hardtail
The primary differences besides geometry is that Marlin has a straight head tube compared to Roscoe's tapered head tube; Marlin is quick release while Roscoe is through axle; maximum tire width supported by Marlin is 2.2" versus Roscoe at 2.6". Which is to say that the Roscoe is a lot more future proof than the Marlin, which is a bit of a dead end as far as upgrades are concerned.
@@hardtailrider7172 Yeah, you can bodge a tapered fork onto a Marlin, but it's not ideal. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about the quick release rear hub.
I find nothing wrong with a quick release hub. They’re actually pretty good the only thing I recommend is getting rid of the quick release skewer and go Bolton
@@jkp245 I'm a 6 tall guy (182cm) and nearly 17stone heavy. I went for an XL becaise the L felt and looks like kids bike. I did't want to look like a grown up monkey on a gilr's bike. Go for a size bigger than your recommended frame size!

According to Trek's website, 2.6" is the maximum supported size. Of course you can always ignore that and go larger, but you could end up with clearance issues. Remember, it's not just the tire you should be concerned about but any trail debris you might pick up along the way.

Very nice choice of bike, Cant wait for the upgrades.
Believe it or not, all the speckles are the same.
A brief comparison of the bike in this video to my Roscoe 9 shows the speckles are not the same.
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with this.
Looks like a smooth ride alright!
the bikes good but it’s about to be even better. Thanks for watching.
I have a trek roscoe 8 in blue colour with some trick bit hope wheels and hubs and a couple of Burgtec bits rides nice 😊
I have the same Blue Roscoe 8. The best looking color of them all. I put some gold handlebars on it and it looks awesome
I think the blue is a nice color, but here’s the problem from a distance all those colors look like Marlin bike’s. The tan olive color is the one you definitely can tell is a Roscoe
Roscoe 9 was on my short list, I endedd up with the Rocky Mountain Growler 50
The Rocky Mountain is also a great bike. I was looking at that one as well. Either way you can go wrong.
I’m into riding not which bike is the prettiest. I got the Giant Fathom 2 29 2024. Far less than a trek 9 in Australia with just as good specs.
Sweet ride!! I'm about to pick up a 7. What size is it and how tall are you?
Congratulations I’m picking up your 7 and the size I have is medium large and I’m 5.9
Going to get a new bike, wondering if I should get the roscoe 8, or 9. (I mainly do jumps and a bit of trail) Any thoughts on which I should get?
Sorry for the late response I say get the one you can afford afford or which one appeals to you. The 9 just has slightly better components.

Thanks. I still have not checked to see if all the paint splatters are on the same location🤔

Everything has been replaced on the bike
How tall are you? and which size are you using?

Excellent choice
What size is the Roscoe looks big
My Roscoe is a medium large me personally I would’ve went with a large because I like to feel like I’m in the bike now on top of it
Hub in rear ?
Bond trigger rapid fire107
I'm in the Brandon FL area I would like for you to help me order a slacker r kit for my yeti arc, please help me out, thanks
All right, give me one minute
What size is your frame?
My frame is a medium
I want the 1.8 or if possible 2.0
All right, give me a minute to look and see what they got
Can you fit a 28mm bb on this frame?

Ok lets i work at publix wat time u in mount dora
What about 11:00 an clock is that good or what time do you go to work?

I always suggest going one size bigger than what they suggest for you
