We really liked Fort Mountain due to its remoteness as opposed to some other GA state parks which are located in more easily accessible areas. A big 10-4 on the drive up to the park, its a bit steep and windy but our F250 4x4 handled our 2600RB easily. One plus about that park, especially in the summer time, is its elevation. Being located pretty high up means a little cooler temperatures in the summer. Keep up the great videos, I enjoy watching them and being we live pretty close to where you are we have a lot of common areas that we've camped at. Great job.
Great review as usual and if you could add WiFi and cellular, that would be amazing!! We ALWAYS look for “official” when it comes to reviews prior to our trips!
We stayed one night there this summer. Great little campground. You’re right it’s a tough pull up that mountain and the GPS put us short about 3 miles. But nice campground for early in the summer.
Pretty. After crawling over some twisty 10,000 ft passes out west a few weeks ago. the "gettin' there" shouldn't be an issue. Except for hills, the park looks much like Abilene or Cooper Lake State Parks in Texas. So many trees, you don't know if others are camped nearby.
Looks like a great place, so since our kids are grown up, we don’t have to worry about that part of the score, but I’ll definitely keep in mind the accessibility score since I have a half ton 4X4 and will be pulling a 4500-5500 pound travel trailer into the park. 👍 Great review, thanks for the scoring system that’s a great method to do these reviews.
Scott in NJ Thanks! I think you’ll be OK getting there, just take your time. We’ve yet to camp without the kids 😂 looking forward to a few of those trips. Haha
We are heading here tomorrow. And now I'm nervous about driving to the park - yikes. Ugh. Luckily our trailer is 22', but yikes our truck is getting old.
I’ve been in the area before, but never been to the park... I bet that compression brake is going to come in handy! I think that’s the thing I like the best about my diesel.
We actually try to disconnect. There wasn’t much of any service there. I don’t recall how well the WiFi was spread through the park. Some Georgia State Parks do offer it.
Thanks for the review looking to go there next spring

We have stayed at Ft Mountain many time over the past several years. It is our favorite camp ground. Sites 8 and 9 are our favorite sites.
We need to go back for sure!

Great idea. Thanks a ton for watching!

We loved this place!!! It was our 2nd time in our camper and the road with trees is pretty but made it really hard to get in the sites,
Thanks, I will be headed that way soon.
Brian Wofford enjoy! Great park.
Nice review, I may have to put this on the list for next spring.
Great review....this is going to be on next seasons list!

Good information
VERY cool site!!!
Nice campground and review. How long was that 5th wheel? 30' plus.
Oh yeah... prob 35-37ft. Bigger rigs can fit in most sites for sure.
We have a 41 foot fifth wheel. Do you think fort Mountain is bring rig friendly ?
It can get a bit tight. Just adhere to their length limits and you’ll be fine.
Thanks
Where are yall out of?? Im from dalton and work at the camper shop on the weekends
Monroe, GA! I did my internship WAAAY back in Dalton at the Bradley Wellness Center... love Chatty town.

Oh yeah… you’ll be just fine.
Great review Cory. Cool seeing a bear but yes sir, eyes wide open for sure! 🐻
They're not interested in us... but our food is a different story... haha!
I like this place.
Its a good one!
I don't know if you are doing this, but how was the wifi there? I'm sure people will want to know that.

Don't get site #55 I had to use 4wheel drive
35 a night! And you only give it a 5 ????
Keep in mind... boondocking/moochdocking would score a 10 since it’s free.
Here is a breakdown of how we score that category... www.wanderingweekends.com/single-post/2018/03/09/Campground-Reviews
