@@erok080 What are you confused about? Working on the ambulance sucks, the paramedic ambulance. There's no such thing as a BLS unit where I'm from. All ambulances are paramedic units. I would never leave a dept that doesn't have fire dept ambulances to go to a fire dept where I have to work on the ambulance all the time. Probably for a good portion of a career.
24/48 is probably the worst schedule as studies have shown that ff don’t get any real rest, especially coming from busy systems. The 48/96 is a good shift rotation imo. But that also depends heavily on how busy the system is. Doing 48 on a busy system/station can be tough.

how about firefighter/emt on the on the medic units???
I know several guys wanting to move depts. But NOBODY wants to lateral so they can ride the ambo.

Would have more guys if went to 3 platoon system, 24/48 or 48/96.....
