William Magee one of the most flip floppy, illegitimate takes I’ve ever seen on not just music, but any sort of argument. “It’s good but it’s still s***” is not an opinion, it’s a flawed and vague statement based off of trying to agree with needledrop, even if it throws out any sort of self through or examination. Just say you disagree, stop trying to add words to make your terrible take seem like it’s more intelligent than it actually is.
William Magee the whole album he uses women as kind of a metaphor for fame, an example being when he says “i could have me a good girl and still be addicted to the hood rats”, meaning i could have a stable carrer and still want the controversy. The first part of “runaway” is what kanye sounds like in his head/his intentions, and the last 3 minutes are what he sounds like to the public/the media. The guitar solo in “devil in a new dress” is one of the highlights of the album, and there wasn’t any singing on the song, so idk how you’re gonna say the vocals arent good. The 4:00 minute mark on “hell of a life” is one of my favorite moments in music history, along with the 2:20 mark on “lost in the world”. Kanyes verse on “lost in the world” was actually a poem he wrote to kim, but he uses it as a double entendre to finish the album basically saying that fame was both “heaven and hell” for him. “So appalled” has some of the best guest verses on the entire album, plus the beat is 🔥. Blame game is probably the only song on the album i think is particularly boring, but thats not saying its a bad song. All in all your reasons for disliking the second leg of the album are plagued ignorance and by melons opinion.
Runway and Blame Game are such disappointing tracks. Runaway is great up until those 3 minutes of garbage distorted vocals. It wouldn't be bad if it was for like a minute but it drags on for so goddamn long. It's pretty much the same for Blame Game, it's good up until that terrible tone ruining Chris Rock call that isn't even funny. To be honest I don't even like the track before that. Its cool but it gets pretty repetitive. I also don't like Kanye's vocals on it. Runaway avoids this problem by actually evolving throughout the song. It's just too bad those ending 3 minutes are a thing. I can see enjoying Hell of a Life if I'm really in the mood for it but it gets sort of boring (which is surprising with those absurd lyrics). The beat is just a bit too simplistic for my taste. And the hook is very eh. I know it's a parody of that Black Sabbath song which is cool but it's still pretty eh. Buuut like I said, I can still like it if I'm really in the mood for it. Devil in a New Dress, Lost in The World and So Appalled are fantastic songs though.

bentleyfp I find Kanye awfully awkward and cringeworthy to listen to. Sometimes he sounds amazing, songs like No More Parties in LA, So Appalled, Gorgeous, and much of the earlier stuff. The stuff post 808s (and including) just sounds awkward, laboured and just quite hard to listen to.
Imagine saying MBDTF fell apart in the second half when So Appalled, Devil in a New Dress, Runaway, and Blame Game are on the back half. That’s so crazy.
Not even just for Kanye, but for me it's one of my favorite songs in ANY GENRE from ANY ARTIST. From the beginning to the very end, the production was amazing in my mind. It plays a movie when I listen to it... the progression in the instrumental ultimately leading to that beat change up when s*** gets REAL PERSONAL MANNNNN, "Now we out in Europe, SPENDIN' EURO'S." That song is DISGUSTINGLY GOOD. I'm gonna go listen it lol
11:26 - It's interesting that 808s is seen as a sort of proto “tuneful trap” album, yet kinda perfected its own style of it in the song "Heartless", which still sounds amazingly unique & different from anything else before or since; it's like if Charles Babbage built a steampunk computer on par with the best modern digital PCs.
Yeezus is a character. I have no idea why Fantano keeps failing to realizing this, it’s lyrics aren’t stupid, the character is just this hedonistic superstar who learns to recognize that he needs love
Family business is still my favorite songs from him. This is coming from a person who heard Yeezus first and I was so shocked he was so lyrical. This is a perfect list
The “if I fuck this model” line is supposed to be disgusting and pointless, he does that on purpose to counter pt 2 which is about his family, that song is basically contrast and more themes on the album are shown through contrast on other songs
Same with Yeezus in it's entirety. The overly simplistic and provocative lyrics serve a purpose: to paint a picture of an egotistic man with his head up his ass. The whole album tells a story of such a man realizing his mistakes and finding love, it's pretty apparent when you pay attention to the way the lyrics/sound progresses, and little easter eggs that are dropped here and there.
The college dropout is so amazing. Not a dull moment of the album. All-time great albums for me are ones where you can just tell the artist put their heart and soul in a track, and I get that from almost all the songs on here.
@@TR-ru7wl Exactly. The concept of making a soul sample sound like an opera is really cool but the beat was so repetitive and lost its novelty quickly.
Have to say that Last Call is still to this day my favorite straight hip hop song I've ever heard. The crazy long story at the end makes it all come together at the end of the album. K dot and Cole are on some next level shit, but man does that song never get old
In the night you hear him talk, about Kanye's highs and lows "Yeezus" far down on this list, given low score by a Melon so heartless How could you be so heartless?

How the fuck could melon think that MBDTF falls apart in the second half? So Appalled, Devil In A New Dress, Runaway, and Lost In The World are some of the best hip-hop tracks ever created.
I had almost exclusively listened to rap/hiphop for a few years prior to the first time I heard Kanye... I was at my mates house, in his room, we were watching a skateboarding video... the skaters parts finished so we left the room, went to the loungeroom, then i heard a song playing from his room, it was the credits rolling on the skate video, it was "get em high"... I had never heard anything like it, i still cant really explain the feeling I had when i heard it. I remember it clearly as a shift in the way I listened/appreciated music.
I love Yeezus. I don’t know why but with Kanye I’m so much more accepting of ridiculous lyrical content lol. It’s like he’s playing a wild cartoon character.
Late Registration is still my favourite Kanye album. In my opinion, it continues all the things that were brilliant about College Dropout and then some. The samples are very nicely implemented (take ‘touch the sky’ for example). The rhymes are clever and slick. And the way he uses featured artists is genius (need I mention ‘heard ‘em say’? With Adam Levine’s excellent vocal phrases) I just love it so much. It was Kanye at his best, in his prime.
Christopher Niels Gutiérrez Torres I thought I remember him saying in a review that he'd outgrown Em. either way if I'm wrong I'd still like to see the list haha
obviously it was a power move by the all powerful melon to establish himself as a melon who doesnt give a fuck about anyone else and to spark controversy following his few years of consistent relevancy therefore making him the guy who gave MBDTF a 6. And to spark the countless memes following it.
I love yeezus it’s raw, angry, and Exhilarating he does the style soooo well despite not being “groundbreaking” I love how different it is from his other projects. that shit pumps me up!!
How can MBDTF fall apart in the second half when it has 3 of the greatest songs in his (or really anyone's) discography? Devil in a New Dress, Runaway & Lost in the World. The second half does have some of the weaker tracks, being Hell of a Life & Blame Game (still not bad songs) but those 3 are incredible. Good video tho melon
Hell of of life isn't a weak track at all; in fact if I was to pick one track that describes the album best, it comes second only to runaway. Also the fact that he's says he's going to marry a pornstar always cracks me up because he did lol. Mrpaulojorge97 Lost in the World is my favourite Kanye West song of all time so I'm going to disagree with you there.
This is how I exactly feel about this album. He made me fall in love with music (808 & heartbreak had a big impact on my life). I was a freshman in college in a small poor country in East Africa, away from my family with no friends, and obviously got bullied and all. But I held on strong. I got my engineering degree, and he became one of my 3 iconic inspirations alongside Einstein and Batman. He is the definition of change and Overcoming our fears. I am now in the US, getting my second degree and obviously a master's in Aero. Mr. West really changes people, and I consider this album to be the best of his work personally. I love you, brother, and God Bless.
As if people are still calling out allegedly stolen youtube comments. Regardless of whether this one was stolen or two commenters just happened to find the same joke funny, comments aren't a goddamn commodity! They probably just barely qualify as intellectual property. Nobody gives a shit.
The second half of MBDTF is probably my favorite out of Kanye’s discography. I love the piano heavy melody in the start of Runaway, very simplistic but beautiful, then blossoms as the song goes on and the ending with the distorted singing being odd, but just as beautiful when mixed together with everthing. The beat in Devil In a New Dress is great, but the lyricism is fantastic.

the guy from corey in the house?
Former Child Actor is way better than angelic 2 the core, as in it's 100x worse
11:26 - It's interesting that 808s is seen as a sort of proto “tuneful trap” album, yet kinda perfected its own style of it in the song "Heartless", which still sounds amazingly unique & different from anything else before or since; it's like if Charles Babbage built a steampunk computer on par with the best modern digital PCs.

Yeezus is a character. I have no idea why Fantano keeps failing to realizing this, it’s lyrics aren’t stupid, the character is just this hedonistic superstar who learns to recognize that he needs love

Incredible song
top 3 kanye song

Bound 2, devil in a new dress, homecoming are my top 3

Yeezus does not deserve this kind of treatment
It does suck a lot gonna be honest. ESPECIALLY THE LYRICS

How can MBDTF fall apart in the second half when it has 3 of the greatest songs in his (or really anyone's) discography? Devil in a New Dress, Runaway & Lost in the World.
