Hey Matt, when you have enough towels built up for a wash load, do you wash them all together (wheel/tire and dirty "workhorse" towels with your paint drying towels) or do you do separate loads? I have been doing my glass cleaning, paint drying and wash media as a load, and then interior/doorjamb/wheel towels as another. Am I being crazy to keep the two separate or is it important to keep the drying/wash and sealant media as clean as possible?
I always separate towels and do separate loads. I wouldn't want to wash dirty towels with my wash mitts or drying towels. You take a chance messing up your towels in my opinion. I'm very ocd with my towels and washing process. I also will soak my towels that are used with drying aids/sealants ie. Beadmaker, ceramic gloss, even a detail spray. They get soaked as soon as I'm finished with them. Usually about a few hours then I'll rinse em out and throw em in the wash. Rags to riches is probably the best microfiber wash but 3ds towel kleen is really good and cheaper too.
The rag company makes some of the best towels! I'll say if you haven't I'd try the drying blanket from diy detail they also have a smaller size. Its just an amazing twist loop. Rags to riches best detergent I've ever used

Great to see that you use edgeless towels in your lineup. I met an older gentleman while I was doing door to door sales down in phoenix and he had a 12 hour car wash process that he did inside and in his garage but he recommended edgeless and refused to use any edged towels because they could leave swirl marks on the paint. He owned an old Mercedes and it was 20 years old and the paint looked brand new not a single swirl mark. He had a big obsession with griots and told me his process but I for the life of me can’t find it.
I love microfiber, and its versatility. I heard you say Polyamide is the only thing that makes it more absorbent, but im pretty sure the different weaves actually make a difference too. Like the reason waffle amd twist loop are better for drying is because the weave allows for more surface area. (Pretty sure at least)
I bought 20 more ftws, i think i have 40 on hand now. I dont like the large gauntlet unless im doing a really big vehicle, the medium and a single FTW can do an average car easily.

The ethos of OG was to sell everything as an end-to-end solution for the garage. That includes the speakers you listen to and the tools you use while in the garage.
Matt, have you tried the KLIN towels at all? Just recently purchased a couple of them and I am pretty impressed by them in comparison to the competition.
The Rag Company towels are the worst ones I used in the last 20 years. Even after washing them 10 times they still discolor like crazy. Never had such an issue with any other Microfiber towel and I have a few hundred. Even used the washing liquid from The Rag Company. Spectrum 420 in royal blue color and Edgeless 365 in grey color.
That's gotta be user error no offense. I've gone through hundreds and I've never seen any discoloring or bleeding. Not like I'm even doing 95% of the things they say you should do. Dozens of washes. Heat and all.

Def going to get the OG FTW’s. Currently use 2 gauntlet 12x12’s and a blue FTW for drying. Nice to have a matching FTW towel.
But the best towels get stored at home in the lista cabinet rated to hold six elephants;)

With the various thickness, pile design and absorbing performance microfiber towels have become a tool rather than just a towel.

KLIN is much higher quality than TRC in every aspect.

I almost alway choose a lower pile towel if possible. They tend to push less product around.

Love my rag company towels but I am not buying specialized detergent for them. In the wash they’re going with my normal unscented laundry detergent
You will get build up of SiO2 and other modern sealants making your towels hydrophobic and not very functional rather quickly.
