Just some quick advice to anyone that sets up something like this. You should never use the default error page like used in this video. I do understand he did it for quick setup but it's unadvised to do so. When you use this you are telling whoever is trying to use this service that you are using freeproxy which is displayed on the page. This will give an attacker the information they need to try and find an exploit for freeproxy to try and exploit your proxy server. Never give out any information about your server to anyone. This makes it way easier for them to attack your server and try to get access. The same goes for a web server, etc. If a person knows you are using Apache web server or Nginx web server this gives attackers exactly what server you have so it's much easier to attack you. Just some friendly advice from a network security fanatic.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, it has been many years since I've used this product and even then it was only for the filtering, so I never dug into any of the other possible features it may have. Theoretically it's possible, but I don't know if that's a built-in function of the software.
Hi, great video however I am confused. I am trying to access the proxy server from a networked (other) machine. I am unclear how to access the proxy server remotely. In the video you mention you took the IP of the Proxy server earlier, but I can't see where you did this in the video. Can you help please?

the proxy you created can only be accessed in the same network right? i created one like that one in the video and tried to connect to it from other place...it didn't work
The proxy server will need to be accessible by the devices you wish to configure to access it. If they are on separate networks then some sort of routing/NAT/forwarding will need to be done to allow them to communicate.

I tried this with no luck. I can't connect to the dedicated PC I have the software running on.
I created a static IP. I had to use the same one it already had but made it static on I.E and in my router.

Update, The Firewall was set to ON for the this dedicated PC. I was able to connect.

Win 10 detects this free proxy zip as virus; file is blocked won't run.

Where do i find my server ip?
I assume you mean your proxy server? That being the case, then it will be the ip of the machine that you installed the proxy service on. To get the ip type ipconfig in a command prompt.

Thanks for the explanation, but this software is not really that practical to use.
+Trend101Warrior too many complicated settings. CCProxy is much easier to use. Although, freeproxy did have the option that I wanted.
+Trend101Warrior No it can't, you need to use already existing proxy, not create one.
Total waste of my 2 hours. Watched and followed all the instruction of this video 4 times. And still, I was not able to connect proxy server. Uninstalling and deleting all Handcraftsoftware download. in case, you coplained, I am using Windows 10.
Sorry for that. To clarify, this video is 5 years old and showing the process on Windows 8.1, so may not exactly line up with you system.
