- Would I mind if Bungie gave us more vault space? No I would not. Do I think some people out there need to manage their vault space a little better than they're doing right now? Yes I do.

Watching Fallout's vault cleaning video, Datto is definitely the therapist. Fallout in this video is more of the manager that points out your mistakes in a meeting rather during your one-on-one
Me, a total packrat: "This is fair."
That being said, I'm not keeping them for buff/nerf what-ifs. I'm keeping the completely unused stuff for nostalgic purposes.
midnight coup :')
It‘s not your fault bungie messed up weapon balancing and had to sunset the majority of the game. It‘s not our fault the sandbox changes every few months and you fear of deleting a potential god roll. It‘s not out fault that bungie is vague with their perk description so you keep a weapon because you need to double check what exactly it does. It‘s not our fault that there are still how many non-sunset guns in the game? A lot? Yea. It‘s not our fault that there might be a new, better roll on your armor and exotics around the corner which could make a difference for your build, especially with how upgrading and masterworking armor is. (It‘s ridiculous btw). I love this game a lot, closing in on 1000 hours, not much to complain about for me but vault space and armor upgrading, please bungie :(
@@guidjo exactly I haven’t touched my duty bound and mind benders in forever but they will never be deleted
One sunset weapon I ABSOLUTELY refuse to delete is the snapshot Quickdraw Beloved. Took me 90 of those weapons to drop to get that roll. 😤😤
I will never dismantle my dust rocks or spare rations
Datto: "Fallout is here to roast me over my vault"
Fallout: *proceeds to compliment his vault*
Remember when we all deleted that god roll threaded needle from the free season of the chosen reward, and then 2 seasons later threaded needle is the highest damage weapon?
Threaded needle was released season of the chosen
@@colinwilliams3459 sorry I meant season of the chosen. I keep mixing them up
@@24dasr no worries ;)
It wasn't the highest danage weapon. Cartesian Coordinate was the highest damage weapon. The best heavy linear was Reed's Regret. Even then, Sleeper and 1k were still better options.
Very VERY rarely are the "Oh, but it might be better later" statements ever true. The few times it was proven right were:
1. Gjallarhorn in D1
2. Slug shotguns
3. Cartesian Coordinate
That's it. 95% of damage metas are then-currently available weapons.
I like to think that in the lore there are qualified Vault consultants that work with guardians to clean their vaults and study at the University of The Last City.
Wow imagine if that was an in game service thatd be incredible
You’re a genius. This is now canon in my mind.
Datto: makes all sorts of pragmatic statements about keeping vaults clean, dismantling unused weapons, etc.
also Datto: S E N T I M E N T
Me: "There is no reason to have a Niflheim Frost in here"
Brain: "But who else has 4k kills with this scout rifle?"
Me: "You got me there"
The Fallout from this will be overwhelming.
Take my like and get out.
Out.
It was. Also 49 minutes long.
Funny, now face the wall
The door is that way 👉
I think the concern is that the vault never gets bigger, yet more weapons and armor are added with each season. There's going to be a certain point when you can't blame the user mismanaging his/her vault because there are just too many items in the game.
Especially with the introduction of stasis weapons and armor lol
It costs me fun...
Often I'm standing in front of my vault and I always have the same problem... since months...
If this is the sense of the game I have to leave. I don't come online to only clear my vault up. Always!
THIS
Yeah. I don't have an issue yet, since I've barely filled my vault, but I understand others saying the vault needs to be bigger.
in my case, it has more to do with the perks themselves rather than the weapons, i mean... how many weapon perks are in the game? you can't really expect people to read every single one of them and say "oh, of course, this must be a godroll" like, it's just so much work, and even if you discover a godroll, it can always change next season.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the thing about the Braytech RWP MK. II is that you can't get a masterwork on it from collections if you pull it out again. The quest version of it they gave you when doing the Polaris Lance quest had a masterwork hence why I never deleted mine.
Yep, was gonna post this same comment.
Lmao who cares, you’re never using it again
I still use it from time to time
I use it. For the life of me it somehow manages to feel better than most of the legendary scouts available right now.
Same goes for Polaris Lance. I don't really know what it is, or how to describe it, it just feels better.
@@paradoxical247 Definitely. When I started out in arrivals I did the exotic quest just so I can use it for those one taps in momentum to grind out Randy's.
I def think if the kill trackers were linked to the collections entry on the weapons, and you can delete a weapon, then pull it back out, and the kill tracker persists (and is shared across all rolls of the gun) then people would be more open to trashing stuff. I get that you lose the granularity of "this roll" has X kills, and "that roll" has Y kills, and you'd instead have "gun" has Z total kills, but it seems like a decent compromise.
A few seasons ago I finally trashed my set of Tone Patrol scouts, same reason, I had one of each flavor for my PvE gameplay. good times =D
At LEAST do this with exotics. It's not like version "A" is any different from version "B" like with legendaries, though I still agree with this idea as a whole.
Tone Patrol was such a good gun back in year 1. Probably one of my favorites back then
Origin story and tone patrol loadout was gas ⛽️
🔥
@@Enforcer6k I really wish exotics kept their kill counts. I had a Fighting Lion (my favorite weapon in the game) with MULTIPLE THOUSANDS of crucible kills on it and deleted it for some reason and just assumed Bungie was smart enough to always keep exotic kill counts.
Datto: “Free your mind”
Me: “AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW”
I would love it if Bungie gave us the opportunity to mount certain items for display. I have some guns I no longer use, but I keep around for nostalgia reasons (e.g., Khvostov, Black Armory stuff, etc.). Being able to put those "on the wall" rather than in my vault would be ideal.
My Austringer, my Beloved, my Kindled Orchid, my Dust Rock Blues... Hell, even my old crucible killtracker Cerberus+1. I'd love a nice display section.
I would enjoy clan halls and customizable personal quarters, but that will never happen.
@@0mikr0n A person's got to dream, though. Right?
I've been wanting "Guardian Apartments" since D1, I think it would be a perfect addition if and when we return to the original "official" Tower
@@0mikr0n this is one of the best ideas I've seen tho it'll probably never happen 😔
Datto: "Fallout Roasts My Vault"
Fallout: Tries to make a case for keeping every weapon in Datto's vault.
Counter attack shattering blade WAS the best roll, before swords got buffed to the atmosphere
For those that don't remember, if u didn't have any ammo in your sword, u did more dmg than if u did... EXCEPT if u had counter attack and/or shattering blade, so block, run out of ammo, then spam was the meta
The "what if" scenario actually happened to me this season, as I had found out that the Accrued Redemption I had been holding on to for 2 years was actually the "god roll" lmao. It's been fairly handy in GMs also, but otherwise a lot of junk in my vault is... probably junk.
I can come to the fact that I could lose some space, but I love build crafting and having different kinds of archetypes and weapons. If I want an arc, void, and solar auto rifle that's three slots multiplied by different rolls I want. Plus I have tons of memorabilia that is unattainable. Give your boy some more space, I don't see the problem with adding more.
I'd save every roll of summoner if I could because it took bungie months to add in another solar auto besides artic haze.
I still have my 0 light travelers chosen, stubborn oak and damaged armour set
@@user-lv8dn8gw9z First thing I did when I saw that 0 level gear
Fun fact: if you go to charlemagne and check datto, his highest kills are on his go figure.
Huh, go figure
Daddo.
My biggest problems with vault space are:
A. Keeping a copy of every exotic armor piece in each elemental affinity
B. Keeping at least one copy of each weapon in each element
C. Keeping 99% of all exotic weapons available "just in case"
:/
Also, Fallout's vault is 100x worse, based off of the sheer number of sunset weapons, and the fact that he is still keeping sunset armor?!?!
EDIT: with the element swap cost being lowered, i was able to free 100 slots in my vault 😊
Just pull the exotics out of collections
@@woot2830 then you’d have to Infuse them each time and it costs precious glimmer
Yeah, I’m really hoping they’ll let us swap Affinity for cheap soon
delete all but the best rolled armor, delete every exotic you Haven’t used since beginning of last season
Right there with you on A and C.
I started like 170-ish hours ago. When I started, I put anything that was kinda cool in it. Slowly kept filling up. After I started to understand godrolls and perks, I went back and deleted stuff if it wasn't good. Unless it's fun, I won't really keep it.
Yup. I used to be a "I need good rolls of every single weapon in the game, and multiple rolls for the majority" type of person. Now I just delete anything that isn't a true 5/5 God Roll, maybe a 4/5 if I just like the gun.
same here, now im at 510 hours and ive managed to keep my vault mostly clutter-free
Talk to me at 3000+ hrs lol
2k hours, my vault has never gone over 300 items.
Datto deleting the masterworked warmind scout is really depressing, you CANNOT get the masterworked version anymore. Datto straight up killed one of the only unacquirable weapons in D2
It's also useless. Learn to let go, my friend.
@@nope4620 what are you passionate about? Just curious... feel like shit talking that too rn
@@nope4620 I mean, on the one hand, yeah, it's just code. But people don't usually keep nostalgic items for the item itself, but rather what's attached to it. The memories associated with these pieces of code are valuable, and sometimes it's hard to let that go. By your argument, you should never have emotional attachment to ANYTHING because it's just materialism, which is certainly a fair approach. But let's not invalidate the emotions behind what those pieces of code represent. Is it important to let go, absolutely. You can't keep everything forever. But maybe let's not insult the extremely valid reasons behind something when we can instead provide support or constructive criticism to attempt to fix what could be argued as a problem?
@@nope4620 I'll never get rid of my 1.0 masterworked wing theorem full armour set i got a few years ago.
its old, its unobtainable and it resembles my first moments in d2 and idk if you're a robot or smth but humans have emotions and get emotionally attached to stuff ya sassy fuck
Honestly, I was agreeing with Fallout about the pinnacle you can pull out from the collection, to get rid of them. But then... they made Redrix a random perk roll and I cannot pull it from the collection anymore.
I legitimately wish The Vow and Hush had more time to shine
Yes, some people absolutely mismanage vault space BUT as someone who plays all 3 classes and has multiple builds for every single one AND on top of that I like to have at LEAST 2 of each weapon, a pve roll and a pvp roll, 500 is definitely not enough
The braytech scout in my vault shows the number of kills for my equipped energy weapon, which is weird. I saw it with over 20k kills, and was like "no way that's right". Changing my equipped energy weapon changed the kill count on the braytech scout. Very odd.
Same thing here, I took a screenshot of it when my Recluse hit 150k
I love that crossplay is a thing now. Seeing Datto going through the tower next to guys called "DonutLickr" and "I AM EDP" is just hilarious.
I don't think there is a worse person on earth to help you clean out your vault than Fallout
That’s kind of the issue tho. I got a god roll true prophecy during a time 110s were really bad and I kept it in my vault and it quickly became my number 1 used gun ever once beyond light dropped. I’m afraid I might’ve deleted it if I didn’t have the space
I’m now sad I deleted a bunch of my sunset weapons. RIP Blast Furnace :(
Hi Datto, just want to say a heartfelt thanks for doing this and the Fallout video. It has really helped me understand what to look for and which items to keep. 10/10.
'Why is there so many Servant leaders in there??'
*[Heavy breathing in 96 servant leaders]*
I regret having deleted some sunset gear, but it is what it is. That being said, 500 is not enough for people who have 3 characters and want to reach different builds for each in PvP and PvE.
Could be wrong but I believe the 1220 khvostov means it had to have dropped from the fallen walker in the opening new light area otherwise it could only be 1100 since you can't infuse
The Braytech RWP MK. II is bugged, it will display your currently equipped energy weapons kill tracker as its own. I still use it occasionally in PvP so I can run an exotic kinetic weapon.
All I'm asking is, that the Vault can be divided into categories - Armor, weapons, sparrows etc. Maybe also subcategories
17:21 “What am I looking at in the top left corner?”
D: “That is a toothbrush”
My Bygones, Hammerhead, Perfect Paradox, and Ringing Nail aren’t going anywhere. Idgaf
Next should be Aztecross. My man is the definition of "what if they buff it" lol
I don't give a damn if I can re-pull these weapons or if they're sunset; I ain't getting rid of them. I worked for these weapons, I'm not getting rid of it.
10:37 They are adding full auto as a base game feature so that perk is bring removed anyway.
I love how when datto roasts someone else’s vault the video is like an hour long but when someone roasts his vault the video is only just 20 minutes. This just shows dattos superiority
I completely get the memento thing. My favorite sunset item in my vault is my Curated Twilight Oath with 6969 Crucible kills on it :)
Nice
Datto I understand your attachment to recluse .My riskrunner has my highest kill count with 29k enemy kills and that is low compared to others players weapons I have observed.
That hurt seeing Rose get dismantled because it’s disabled indefinitely from the collections. So until/unless bungie reenables it, then it’s gone for good
Deleted around 130 things from vault, probably around 110 of them were armor pieces. Thanks for the motivation to crawl through my vault and clean out the mediocre pieces.
0:36
I only keep stuff I NEED in my vault while the stuff I WANT on my characters. For example, in my vault I have things like 4 (maybe 5 if there's a stasis type) scout rifles, bows, autos, Handcannons etc. that I enjoy using purely for champion mods, why 4? 1 arc, 1 solar, 1 void, 1 kinetic. I do this with EVERY weapon type. I also have every single exotic IN THE GAME (including armor) in my vault and all this only adds up to about 225 vault space used up.
Hoarders: Destiny edition. This is the series we need from you and Fallout
I've always found this fascinating. I basically only have exotic weapons and weapons with a high kill count. Only like 40ish items in my vault 😁
Things that need to happen to fix vault space from most important to least important.
Kill Trackers need to be universal. Instantly frees up every exotic and pinnacle weapon that's in the vault.
Weapon Crafting is going to fix the issue of duplicate weapons, if you can craft versions you already unlocked or something. You only need that 1 weapon and you can just change its perks to fit what you need to do.
Armor Affinity needs to be an unlock per armor. If you masterwork a void armor piece, then switch it to arc, you should be able to switch between void and arc affinity for free, or 1 upgrade module. Frees up every copy of Exotic armor (since usually exotic armor pieces have preferred stats.
Champion mods should include multiple weapon types. Like undying's anti-barrier auto AND smg or dawn's anti-barrier rifle mods. You don't need to keep 1 element of every weapon type incase sidearms are the only overload options for a season.
Add an option at the post master to either push out old stuff when new stuff comes in or to ignore new stuff if its full of old stuff. Let players use it as extra space if they want.
We should be able to change a weapons element. This conflicts the most with the direction the game is heading so its very low.
The only things that I want from bungie as far as inventory management are a batch dismantle system, and auto-dismantling blues because blue gear is entirely worthless everywhere except the start of an expansion.
It says a lot that Fallout's version of this video is over twice as long as this one.
3:02 Same. Same… for almost every sunset weapon I have. Same. I also have the rare quality planetary materials from deleted planets and I can’t bring myself to trash those.
I liked this video a lot, I hope we get more of Datto doing colabs with others.
Yeah not with Fallout though. I’m surprised he wasn’t cancelled already with how toxic he can be with viewers.
380/500. Could be 350 because of some infusion fodder. Helps to only hold armor for one class. Other two have to carry what they keep.
There should be an auto rifle where the entire left column is a type of extra damage perk, and if that perk is activated (like rampage) then the onslaught perk from breakneck kicks in and gives a fire rate increase
My problem is armor hoarding for sure. I only have 5 pages of good or interesting rolled weapons but then the other 5 are full of all kinds of stat roll armor for all 3 characters cuz Ive become obsessed with good stats and I don’t really hard commit to builds that often.
I try to only keep one best roll of each exotic but if the rolls are different and good enough (or the only one I’ve gotten) then Ill keep those too but Ive probably got 5 pairs of hunter arms with similar stat totals and high affinities in strength. Too lazy to go through and compare and pick the best tbh
Ive come to terms with if you have 3 characters you’re bound to have an almost full vault most of the time and Ill clear stuff out as I need to.
Given, I do keep my character inventories pretty damn minimalist idk how fallout lives like that
I got a rapid hit-multikill servant leader on my first game of gambit, and it slaps. Hope you get a good one soon!
Datto, I still have my 0 Power Level Armor, Broken Travelers Chosen and a 0 PL shotgun from Red War. Don't underestimate the collectible nature of some things... haha.
same but I only kept the warlock 0 power armour set (probably only played it on wl)
If you run the new light mission you can keep getting pinnacle level Khvostovs. Lep did it for some GM shennanigans.
11:24 nooooooo, that arc Pleides Corrector was from before Collections came out, rest in peace :(
If you need a higher light level khovostov, I think you can just do the new light quest from the one kiosk thing
Came in with the vid being posted 26 seconds ago, Datto stays having interesting content
I make sure I have only one of every gun or armor piece I love in there but there's truly enough in the game to love to make the vault bigger
Damn. Datto had more stuff than I expected. I have a bunch of sunset weapons I keep for sentimental reasons, loads of god roll weapons, every exotic armor and weapon, and my vault still hardly breaks 300 after cleaning it out.
i'm salivating at the thought of how many legendary shards i could get if i had as many gunsmith mats as Datto... i only have about 2k rn and the max i've ever had is probably around 5k. multiple TENS OF THOUSANDS is just insane to me.
19:07 therapist Datto giving that pre-New-Years-eve speech
I’ve always followed the “Have I ever actually used this in recent content” mantra religiously when it comes to vault space. Like, I honestly treat my vault like a bank for legendary shards, outside of a few very specific weapons I’ve kept for sentimentality. Always stayed around 100 used slots and never really felt like I was hurting for space or didn’t have the equipment I needed for something.
as far as im aware, bungie should combine the collection and the vault into 1. collection is completely useless in its current form, when it could just be used as a well organized bank to store at least 1 roll of each weapon the player wants to save, or just allow us to pick rolls from perks we've already found on the weapon tho that might be pushing it a little bit. should also be a compare feature in the inventory to see what roll is currently stashed in collection/vault to make it easier and quicker to delete unwanted items rather than having to double check in your vault or 3rd party vault app every time you find a weapon you arent sure if you already have a good roll for.
W take
This finally gave me the verve to clean up my vault. Went from being constantly almost full to 350/500, thank you for that. Very entertaining as well.
A lot of the stuff is nostalgia and you cant reaquire with the random rolls like all the old black armory weapons. They should def use your idea and just have the kill counts tied to the gun on your account so you can delete a gun and reaquire from collections and it still has the kills.
to quote you
“if you still need more vault space, the problem isnt you”
I recommend deleting exotic weapons from the vault completely since you can pull them all from collections, no reason having a single one in your vault unless they have random rolls or you use them constantly and they are max power.
My 364 Crucible kills Threat Detector Backup Plan Proelium approves of the Backup Plan Proelium at 10:04
My vault is literally filled with around 250 sunset red items from like year one and year two
The struggle is also with losing access to things that took time to acquire so you’re time spent “grinding” becomes 100% wasted. I say that because grinding by definition is not done for fun.
*471/500*
"Yeah keep that khvostov"
*cuts to having 470/500
...welp I've been lied to
I’ll second Fallouts thoughts at the 7:45-ish mark: the Osmosis Servant Leader is great for tough solo content.
"I'll see another gun" life changing advice
Servant leader with osmosis is how I was able to kill the harpies in the master atheon encounter
If they can't increase vault space, I say they add crafting/fusing of the same weapons together to create a 'super roll' weapon that has all the perks of those 2 weapons into one.
Datto kept the toothbrush? Wise man.
_We veterans all remember the Superblack shader incident._
Honestly I have some items like the thumbnail has, but those items are like trophies for me. Like planetary items like duskshards that are blue and the Dawning gag gifts.
Really wish Bungie would give us our own quarters aka our own room so I can take them out of my Vault and set my room up like a museum.
The amount of calus tokens he’s keeping is absolutely astounding.
See I understand I shouldn't be keeping weapons I've never used but then I think back to the god rolled 110s I had saved before they switched to 120s.
I kept breakneck til today, just for memories. Great gun, but it’s power cap is low and you can always pull it later if you want to use it.
"What sword is that? Is that from the Dawning?"
Three weeks later...
Half of the armor in my vault is simply masterworked sunset armor that I am keeping around for materials if I ever need them, which will never happen.
Datto’s over here making me feel good about my vault.
Datto: “I don’t have much of a vault space issue” opens vault 473/500
Me with 470/500. 💪🏼
I’ve been chilling around 300 for a few years
My issue is too many sunset weapons...but I'll never delete the 32k kill MT, or 34k kill Recluse! (By the way the Braytech scout master work cant be applied from collections gun) Also Bungie already said in the past, adding vault space would hinder game performance.
I usually do this about once/month but I still got crap in my vault. D2GUNSMITH has been a major help with deciding which roles to keep.
I freely admit that a sizeable portion of my vault is cluttered by useless items; resources or consumables that are no longer obtainable.
I have the same Inaugural Address situation. When I need pulse kills in crucible and element kills, I use them still
Im confused. Within the first 2:30 You said you dont have an issue with Vault Space, saying you need to let things go and you can always get another one, and then we open your vault at 2:40 and you have 473 items.
My museum class vault items are the Midnight Coup with 22k kills, my og ikelos shotgun when it was a heavy with 16k kills, and my Recluse with the ultimate 69,420 kills. They will never be dismantled.
My vault is literally all armor rolls for builds haha
there may not be a lot of armor and guns in my vault, but the ones that are there are purely nostalgia/exotics with decent rolls
like i have my original bygones in there still and that thing is my baby
I would rather have the vault divided by archetypes than having more space. Seeing everything just stacked together is overwhelming. Like, is this a sidearm or a handcannon? I would also love 💕✨ to have some type of tag system so I can tag my pvp or pve rolls. DIM is very helpful but it's easy to forget what or where was that thing I meant to dismantle once I hop back into the game.
My rule is pretty simple. Aside from the emotional attachment to some weapons(which is rare for me), if I don't use it for 2 months, Its gone. So what ifs for me
I absolutely love these videos. I'm the vault roaster and all my friends are hoarders. I have friends who keep every curated roll on sunset weapons. All the year one weapons with different burns. Then they complain that they literally only have a few spaces open for each slot to move items around. I have all the rolls on weapons and different armors for all endgame situations and like 300 free spaces in my vault. I'm like what are y'all doin?! Lmao!
Honestly with the way my brain works, I'd also like a better organizational system with the vault. Able to have like PVE, PVP, Trials, and Misc, and unsorted areas to file weapons into, with each area maybe having max 150 slots each. Aside from going into the DIM and having notes on each weapon, I would struggle to remember why I had this one thing.
