Every time I go to clean my vault I fall into the “but what if I need it for this very niche scenario” trap and never get anything done 😂 need someone from my clan to go through it and force me to delete shit

I suggest to try that niche build and ay around then deleting it becomes very easy , that's what I did with alot of weapons, also another idea is create new account (use free dlc offers that comes ) have your nostalgic experience of first time play and save some niche builds there
It looked like your weapons weren't too bad, it was the exotic armor that was the real issue.
One thing Datto didn't mention about hording shards, is what do you really need them for? Once you have good set(s) of armor masterworked, all you need shards for in the future are new exotics. It's not difficult to keep up with the amount of shards you need at that point.
I mean to be fair it can also be pretty costly to focus exotic armor when you don't get the stat distribution you're looking for, and with legendary shards out of the picture soon I suspect that Bungie will eventually find a way to add Ascendant Shards to the cost of more things.
@@absentzz347 Yes, but if you've collected so many shards you're masterworking exotic armor to store shards (at three shards a piece), you've gotten stupid amounts of drops and wouldn't need to be focusing that much.
So, again, hoarding that much is unnecessary.

After the rangefinder nerf I dismantled SO MANY pvp godrolls.
That's honestly why I have several PVP rolls of the same gun. It's tough to let go hahah

I've only been playing Destiny for a year and my vault has 500 items in there. I only try to keep one of each gun I find along with every piece of exotic armor. I guess I'm already stubborn. :D

im not gunna lie im like REALLY bad at determining wether anythings good or not, so like I NEVER delete anything (to be fair Im decently bad and newish to the game) and my vault is at 571 AND IDK WHAT TO DELETE CUZ I CANT TELL WHATS A GOD ROLL AND WHATS THE WORST ROLL POSSIBLE
It is tough to get used to. I know DIM has a feature, and honestly watching these videos can help!

I need an intervention for my vault. My problem though is I don't hold on to anything and then can't do anything because I must scrap it if it doesn't work for me.
How many items you have in your vault?
Please do these in DIM, not the in-game vault.
You get absolutely NO context of rolls in your vault across a whole weapon type without DIM

If that Trust was Small Bore, Light Mag, Genesis, Explosive Payload, it was the Curated Roll that came with Gambit Chrome and a Fully Masterworked Range Masterwork. I still have mine and will never get rid of it.

Over 1600 hours played in Destiny 2 and I've managed to keep my inventory below 250 and the vast majority of my stuff is God Rolls or like some of my favorite weapons ever

With great discipline I always maintain around 100 free spaces in my vault. It's been creeping up to the 550s recently though which makes me sweat a little lol.
So much loot we’ve snagged over time! It’s tough to keep the vault space down.

I watch these videos and I know that Datto would be offended by my vault for of trophies. I have so many sunset weapons in my vault. Some aren't even good, but I keep them because you can't get them at all now.

I never was a big fan of Datto's vault cleans cause we're differnet players. I played more pvp. So i use old weapons in pvp more than newer ones at times. I use sunset guns all the time. I don't care about gun stats either. We have a different mind set. at least in prior vault cleanout vids.

Never gear exotic anything in there use the ones u hav for builds delete the rest
Clean out sunset weapons
Any weapon that can be crafted delete
Trash roles gone
I have 22 in my vault. I have 11,000 hours in D2. If you have more than 100 on your vault, you have problems

I only have 100 items in my vault, so I have no idea how someone can reach 600
I dont know why people horde all that stuff. You only need like 6weapons to play everything in this game. Ive never gone over 50/600 items in the vault.
Played since launch and just collected every god roll pretty much.
My vault is clean, but full. No weapon w/ more than 3 dups. No dup exotics. Still full. This video was great but man your exotics armor hoarding was on another level.
A constant 535 to 600 with weekly cleaning for me 😕

All my armor Exotic or Legendary got so crazy I don’t keep a single stat roll that is not 67 or higher. Its helped so much and opened up 50 slots. I implemented this last season and now feel by next season I might get that up to 68.
Since I’ve gotten a few 70 rolls and a couple 71 rolls unmasterworked.

I’m actually hanging onto junk exotics too but so I can get glimmer for a little once shards are gone. After year one I never want to farm public events again.

yea i agree with datto, hung jury was insane in d1 and i feel like thats why people are so attached to it. but we also havent had what i would say a scout meta in a long long time. or even just since scouts have been on par with hand cannons or subs and autos. it will have a place when they buff them but i dont see that happening anytime soon. ig the best thing for it really is just gms or ther high end content
they have a place for the burgers and skilled players will use higher damaging things
