He plays drums like he watched the Muppets as a kid, saw Animal and went "That's what I wanna be when I grow up!" and then did it lol
I saw deep purple in Christchurch , NZ in 2005 or 06, and watching Ian Paice I knew I was in the presence of greatness. Whatever " It " is ,he had it .
Very interesting, another great drummer with a lot of sensitivity and ear for an excellent result
Great reaction. Love how INTO it you get. You're so excited to see people goin' for it.
Something that's worth checking out is that Ian Paice actually did his own reaction to this on the Deep Purple channel. He definitely enjoyed it, and gives some nice insight.
His enthusiasm is contagious! Well worth the visit Thx
Your commentary is actually good, i appreciate your insight. Its nice to hear a musician react cause you understand the intracacies. Bless
The session drummers and pro sidemen in this Drumeo series really show why they earn the big bucks. They come in with so much focus and enthusiasm.
Another one drumer that did it is eloy Casagrande. Another favorite of mine is domino santoantonio
They let them listen to the drum free track as much as they want & do as many takes as needed. I love when the people just get into it as they relax & trust their instinct.
2 things - Tosh said in another video he got the advice to keep his hats high to save him potential back problems and.....the foo fighters will be fine with josh behind the kit. nice video mate
Just before you mentioned Bonzo and Moon, I was thinking he really mirrors their energy.
Love your videos and love Drumeo as much as you. You work with kids so I think it would be awesome to see you review Nandi Bushell’s take on Twisted Sister.
1000% on your comments about him "doing nothing wrong". I am always a little surprised at some of the drummers they have on Drumeo who say that (Juilliard jazz drumming is another recent one). I can't help but wonder if they actually mean the words they are saying or if it's kind of just a representation of their own nervousness.
On the flipside, then there's Chad Smith who starts drumming along on the first take after 30 seconds of listening and when asked if he wants another take, replies "Another? No! I f***ing NAILED it!" :)
You should be transcribing into notes or tabs where possible, on the screen.
The Benefit of Mr. Kite
Mr Rogers Neighborhood
He obviously knew the song...you can't stop playing in the right moments if you haven't heard the tune before...not even Buddy R. or Billy Cobham could do that.
Totally untrue, his performance was genuinely 1st time. Are you a professional musician?
@@MusicShed how can you justify your sentence?
I don't think you've been viewing this series. There's a lot of videos on their channel where drummers literally don't know the songs or the artist and go in blind. They get as many takes as they want and come up with a rendition of their own. Instead of hating just go and watch a few of the videos!
