no he didnt, he most likely used a sony c800g which gives it that crisp or mayle a tlm or a u87

Do you use a desser? And why isn't torys vocals over sibilant if you gave it a lot of high end? I have trouble with sibilants on a lot of my vocals if I boost highs
Yes, he does use a de-esser, it's the first thing he uses for Meek's vocals! As for Tory, his voice may not be as sibilant. What you're experiencing could be due to your mic, preamp levels, mic positioning, or your space. You could have an annoying frequency in your voice (or room) that you need to remove before you boost your highs! Try moving further from your mic or angling it a few inches up or down to see if that helps. Keep in mind that Cruz could be using hotter gear; most higher-end (tube) mics don't pick up on sibilance. In my experience, recording at higher sample rates can also help to capture and reproduce the higher frequencies better. But if all else fails, definitely try different mics!
