Luisa Splett performs Clara Schumann: Variationen über ein Thema von Robert Schumann

Luisa Splett is an internationally recognized Swiss pianist who has performed solo recitals in Europe, South America, the United States and Russia.
Born in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1983 to a family of musicians, Ms. Splett launched her piano career at the age of five and gave her first solo performance at the age of seven.
In 1997, at the age of 14, Ms. Splett and her trio "Da Capo" won first prize at the Jecklin Festival in Zurich, where she debuted with the trio at the Grand Hall of the Tonhalle, Zurich.
In 2004, she completed her undergraduate studies under Silvia Näsbom-Thellung and Professor Karl-Andreas Kolly in Zurich at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK); and in that same year she won the Special Prize at the Claudio Arrau international piano competition in Quilpué, Chile. In 2006 she completed her Masters degree (with highest distinction) under Yelena Scherbakova at the "Universidad Mayor de Chile" in Santiago, Chile. Currently completing her PhD under the tutelage of Professor Oleg Malov at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where her dissertation work is focused on the Swiss pianist and composer Emil Frey and his creative efforts in Russia during the early part of the 20th century.
During the last five years, Luisa has performed concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, England, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and the USA, and in 2011 she made her Carnegie Hall debut at the Weill Recital Hall.
In this year 2012 she played concerts in Switzerland, Russia, the U.S, Argentina, Brazil and Ecuador.
