Maestro Araiza is quite convincing I must say, better than many of his peers. It's so important, even crucial, to always project the voice "to the audience", it carries the sound as if on a platform. He does that very well (BTW, he has done that during his whole career!). Very interesting and dynamic, not the usual boring master class!
oh... Araiza is more than 60 years old, and still has a great voice :) And he always has had a great technique :)

Easy to work with singers, who already know how to sing. Much difficult to work with beginners, who don't know how to breath and how to open their mouth . Will be great to see video how maestro work with beginners. Anyway thank you for sharing this video!!!
There are many teachers, much less accomplished and knowledgeable than him, who can teach people the basics. Maestros like Araiza are very rare, meaning only the best in the student tier can really have a chance to work with them.

Que gran voz tienes!, que Gran maestro!. Esas piezas que interpretas son unas de las más complejas que hay y las interpretas magníficamente, técnica impecable, pero sobre todo corazón.

Adelante!, las grandes voces como la tuya se necesitan para embellecer este mundo. De nuevo no cualquiera puede interpretar estas piezas, yo solo he escuchado las interpretaciones de Pavarotti. Tu voz en este video, aún es lírica pero con las características y fuerza interpretativa de los grandes, sigue adelante tienes lo que se necesita, un abrazo!
I love your high Cs of the aria. This was something that made Pavarotti famous. Are you a full lyric tenor or light lyric tenor because this aria was for a leggero tenor/light lyric tenor but then again Pavarotti was the only full lyric tenor to have agility to sing those nine high C's. Florez and Brownlee were known to do such high C's. I wish I had sung the La Fille high C's but I after transitioning from baritone to tenor I am a heavy tenor voice with lyrical agility like perhaps a full lyric tenor leaning towards a spinto tenor but could develop agility to sing dramatic tenor and heldentenor roles along with lyric tenor roles that spinto tenors have the agility for. Maestro Domingo is an example of this kind of tenor. I don't remember hearing true spinto tenors, full dramatic tenors, and heldentenors with high C's singing this aria from La Fille but this is rock solid tenor technique that all tenors have.

Even though those nine high C's were hit in full voice this was not a dramatic tone it was lyrical tone which best suits this role.

He showed an exercise "pushing" the intercostals out while counting from 1 to 8 in a projected voice and after that blowing out the remaining air keeping the ribs open... Since it would make feel dizzy wait until you repeat. Something like that.

Estimado profesor Enrique, quería comentarle con su permiso, soy estudiante de canto, soy tenor, voy desde un Si2 a un re5 vocalizando. Pero al momento de cantar parecería que no puedo aplicar lo que realizó en las vocalizaciones, muchas veces me siento como ahogado con notas como un mi4, por momento me frustró. Estoy cantando arias como Nessun Dorma, e Lucevan le Stele, y la última que estamos haciendo es E la solita storia del pastore. Me podría dar algún consejo para poder cantar con más libertad, por que siento que todavía no lo puedo hacer. Muchas gracias profesor. Soy Facundo Perez de Argentina. Un saludo entrañable.

Muchísimas gracias por el comentario... es una cuestión muy pequeña, de armónicos, entre más espacio me pide que abra el sonido más conectado y vibrante sale... sin embargo en las grabaciones es más difícil notar esto, ya que se pierde mucha calidad cuando los armónicos pasan a través de un medio electrónico, pero igual que bueno que le parezcan buenas ambas opciones! Esto fue en un curso en Morelia, no estoy seguro que el mtro. Araiza de clases en México, no sabría decirte.
Es profesor titular si no me equivoco en el musikschulle o conservatorio de Stuttgart(Alemania),tambien imparte por toda Alemania,Suiza,Austria etc.... un saludo!!!!

Qué privilegio tener la guía del mejor tenor mexicano de todos los tiempos, por encima de los grandes como Ramón Várgas, Alfredo Portilla, y MUY por encima de Villazón. Felicidades a este joven tenor. Lindísima voz y hermosa emisión. En este jóven veo la gran competencia de Juan Diego Florez quien con su vocesita ligerísima es el "dueño" de estos roles pero ojalá que este joven sea adecuadamente representado y descubierto.

Concuerdo en tu apreciación de la grandeza del Prof Ks Araiza. Sin embargo no creo que quepa la comparación con Villazón, son tenores diferentes. Y calificar de vocecita (es con c, no con s como tú escribiste) la voz de un tenor como Florez que ha hecho encore en el Met del Lincoln Center en NY, me hace pensar que no sabes lo que dices.

Tony Roberth, Eso no quita que Florez tenga una vocecita ligera, un vibrato caprino y una voz dificil de soportar más de una hora y que tú estés también en youtube haciéndole al pendejo.

Este Enrique Guzmán sí canta, no como el cantante popular de los cincuentas, que era pésimo.
Bravo Araiza, ma l'eleganza e il fraseggio del grande Alfredo kraus per me non ha eguali...
La verdad es que Araiza emitio alguna vez correctamente, pero cuando " abordo " papeles mas dramaticos, engolaba y comenzo a incurrir en errores vocals. Su Andrea Chenier era de dar pena.
Corrijo, se parece a la voz de Florez sin el vibrato caprino y fastidioso de peruano.
Full voice ?!? Serious? Is pure head voice mix.... Even the middle voice.... You see the difference when Araiza sing which part....
It is full voice to the student ! it is relative to him . He is a lighter, younger singer than the maestro . you either sing on the body or you don't ( falsetto) He is singing it out .
Solo Music he is using a lot of head resonance above the passagio, as all tenors do. It's because he has blended the registers together so well that it doesn't sound like he is shifting where he is resonating from
You are collapsing at the end of every phrase. Don’t! We hear an accent at the end of the phrase and it goes out of tune.
