I'm 64 and I collected SW decor since my early 20's. Yes, the terra cota vase is a wine chiller from the 80's. I would have some of those things looked at. That wedding vase could have some value if it is authentic native american. There was a period in the 80's when sw decor was a trend so there were a lot of reproductions from that time. Purists called the trend pseudo southwestern. I would also have that tapestry looked at. It looks Mexican or Guatemalan to me but if it turned out to be Navajo it has a lot of value. Either way it's a beautiful find. You could drape it over a chair or couch. I think that chest of drawers is probably Mexican but again I would have it looked at. I think a lot of people from back east go on vacation to the west and buy pretty things they see. Then when they get home and see how it doesn't translate well to their back east decor some very nice things end up in thrift stores. You should stay on that southwestern theme. I'm so impressed with what you found and the prices are amazing. I loved how you talked about cleaning everything also. Some RUclipsrs just bring thigs home from the thrift stores and start using it. So gross!! Thanks for a great video. I'm glad I found you.
The tapestry is not Navajo... The ends would look different. But it's really pretty. Usually Navajo wedding vases in my area are a certain type of pit fired clay with a sap glaze, and a different kind of decorative, but other areas could maybe do them like that. Anyway, those are good finds, and I'd love to know what area you live in. Greetings from the Navajo nation
Great Thrift store haul!!! For all of my beddings (including pillows) I purchase from the thrift store. I put them in the dryer on High heat for five to ten minutes to stantize them.
What some great finds! I sure could use a nice thrift store. We are a very small town in the middle of no where so pickings are slim. I alway call my mix of decor early American yard sale 🤣. Love your decor
I loooovvveee thrifting in small towns sometimes there aren’t too many finds but the things you end up finding are absolute gems! Thank you for the comment!
I’m late coming in, but I absolutely love the idea of your comment or who said put Mexican tiles over the name on the stool. I feel like the wool takes away from the beauty of the solid wood stool. I would go buy a stuffed a llama. Of course, not a pink one, but something of a natural color of white, gray, brown black… They’re everywhere. Thrift stores dollar stores, and I would somehow connect all that wool to my stuffed llama to make it look more real. so basically have nothing but the head popping out of that wool, then pop it in a corner somewhere. Very southwestern:-)
The tall terracotta vase is actually a vintage wine cooler by American Container Co. I have the same one and use it as a vase too and I love it! I would love to see a home tour at some point!
Hi, how are you? I just happen to run into your channel. I am loving the Southwest style these days. I wanted some advice and have you finished your home in the Southwest. I’m subscribed and the bell is on. Thx I’m going to check out your other video’s.😊
Terry Lewellen thank you so much! ✨✨I haven’t uploaded any of my finds on EBay yet since I haven’t recorded the videos showing them yet but I PROMISE it’s coming soon!
I enjoyed your video. You're made for this kind of thing. Loved your finds.
I think the terra cotta vase is actually a wine chiller but you could use it for some kitchen utensils. Love the tapestry!
Debbie VanHorn A wine chiller?! 😱 even better! *takes faux airplant out instantly*
You are right!
Very cool things. You should do a home tour of how you use some of the items to decorate.
Phew girl my home is a MESS! But I'll try to get it together to make it happen haha!
