Something one of my Paramedic Instructors dropped on me during my clinical rotations: "If youre doing everything perfect, you're not learning". A great mindset changer that carried me through graduation and I still use it today.

Good info. I would like to add, be the first in the hose bed loading hose, stay out of the recliners, if you don't know how to cook but can follow directions buy a cookbook. (crews can only eat tacos and spaghetti so many times.) There are lots more things but it's a start.

@ I am also a Brad. Does that make me a guaranteed hire?
Hoping to get in here locally through their academy, as I have none of the quals secured. But I have saved a soldier’s life before while my life was under direct threat, and he was also threatening the lives of first responders, if any were to arrive. Hopefully that helps my lack of quals.

@ All Brads are automatic hires! All your experience will be valuable in your interview, great ammo. Qualifications are qualifications, no way around that. Have what you need to apply. Don’t worry about not having a crap ton of certs, people want good character and the willingness to learn more
