I have a 2 stage Bryant 80% furnace with a 2 stage Honeywell stat. It will only go to 2nd stage heating if i bump the stat by at least 2 degrees. In this brutal weather here (Chicago area) right now, it will run for as long as 15 +minutes without ever going to 2nd stage. Anyone know what the issue is and how to remedy it??? Thanks

The company added a wire to set to bypass phase 1 and it always goes to phase 2. Is it normal have have 2 mode 9phase 1 or phase 2) to choose/
    / thx

How do you know the second stage is not working? Assuming it is not, it could be the following:
      1. You home hasn't required the 2nd stage to kick on due to not needing it because the first stage is efficiently warming the house.
      2. Installer did not install a 2 stage thermostat.
Installer did not set up the furnace to run in 2 stage mode in conjunction with a single stage thermostat.
      3. Thermostat wiring incorrect.
These are the basics to start with.

Stages on Carrier Furnace are controlled by dip switches on the control board, so if you are the homeowner I would contact the company that installed the unit and they should fix the issue in no time

@@veseheatingcooling1793 Not all Carrier/Bryant/ICP are controlled by the board, but many systems are. The Thermostat might need to be a two stage unit.

Not all Carrier/Bryant/ICP are controlled by the board, but many systems are. The Thermostat might need to be a two stage unit. That is actually good news in most cases that it isn't requiring the 2nd stage of heating that is 100%, so your home is saving you money as the low stage is satisfying the thermstat temperature. I monitor my clients systems and unless it is really cold or they have a loose home, then they never use the 2nd or "High" stage.
What brand, model and step do you have? It could possibly need to be adjusted or configured correctly. Many furnaces are oversized for a home, so stage 1 is plenty to keep the temperature as the desired temperature.

@@Balticblue93 Homeowner states that he/she has two stage furnace never kicked in on second stage , contacting company which installed furnace would be best idea , in case is some of components on furnace is faulty, they might claim on warranty
