- Today we are continuing our course for beginners who are learning how to strum the ukulele. The goal of this challenge is to help people who are having a difficult time positioning the hand, experiencing pain while strumming, and/or lacking coordination. 70+years old in Tennessee on my first ukulele; a Lanakai burnt maple. I have watched and tried lesson One 5 times. The strings sound beautiful while strumming with my thumb. I am going nuts try to make a sound with the lower part of my index finger nail as you teach. All I do is make the sound "click-click-click-click." I am not giving up but have not clue what I am doing incorrectly. Thanks for the lessons.

Super Beginner here in Oklahoma City. I have been trying to learn for almost a year now. I have made no progress. That is, until now. I always blamed my lack of progress on my age, my short fat fingers, or any other excuse I could find. The real reason is the teacher I was using. You're a better teacher. Now I see progress, in just under a week I might add. Thank you. Doing this and the 30 day challenge both at the same time. Looking forward to learning how to really play.

73 yo Male, beginner (3 months - from Jan 2024 , I'm a new Patreon of your channel as from today).
I live in Oroklini near Larnaca in Cyprus. I downloaded much videos... but nearly drowned myself in information.
Now I plan a step back, first I will do 2-3 strumming tutorials, and I will complete your 30 day challenge.
Thereafter I will learn some 3 or 4-chord songs.
The plan is to learn some songs by the "Austin Ukulele Society" .. a highly entertaining channel with good documentation.
Fingerpicking will be an issue .. (I have a : Triggerfinger - Ring Finger on the right hand)
I found some nice backing tracks (Phil Doleman) and I'm experimenting with some strumming patterns on blues backing tracks.
Will start recording (with "Garage Band" - IOS) and monitor progress e.g. 14 days videos.
