What! did you just remove your headlight with a simple key? Man why couldn't they make that for all cars?

How well did the headlight film last? My Cayenne has just started to to oxidize in one small spot. I need to tackle them before the oxidation becomes noticeable.

I haven't replaced the film yet and it looks great still.

@Car Fanatic. great job on the videos. I have a 957 Cayenne GTS with the drivers side headlight pointing down. Any ideas how to adjust the headlights. i know that they auto adjust but the calibration is off so even after auto adjust, the drivers side is way lower. I look it to the local porsche dealer twice. 1st time they didnt do any thing, second time they adjusted it way lower. They are very slow to respond to me so ill rather fix it on my own if its something simple. I feel i do a better job at aligning exactly the way it should be.

Great in info! I’m curious, what headlight film did you use on your 911?

I used laminx tint film. Don't go with smoke unless you want it to look really dark and have terrible night visibility.

Thanks! I saw the ones you have before are slightly tinted not as dark as the one you have now, is that color tint? Did you get the pre cuts or sheet?

Were you able to remove small pits from your headlights with this method? My car has 15K and I would like to remove the small pits before putting a protection film as you did.

+Karim Philogone most likely not because you'd have to remove a good amount of plastic. Light scratches and swirls will come out though.

It does look pretty damned good, but it wasn't that bad to begin with. Or at least it wasn't picked up too well on camera. But why wait til it looks like complete crap, right? Interested to see how long this holds up. Does the Cayenne sit outside all the time? I know the 997 resides in the garage. Your move to Hell, pardon me, Arizona should put this restoration to the test.

hey, on my 911 997.1 headlights, i need some restoration, but i m afraid the issue is on the inside (at least thats my feeling). on the inside where the light photons hits the glass on the inside. any experience with that?

Restoring headlights on a Porsche just does not compute. You are just obliged to drop a couple of Gs on the new headlight assemblies.

can you not just clear coat?

Why not taking the headlight out. Is dead simple on the cayenne. A special tool in the trunk.

That's an option, but I've done it both ways. I find it easier to do when the headlight is firmly mounted in place. To each their own buddy.
