Oh my goodness I’ve definitely fell into the trap of not eating and then feeling like a hangry raging monster ordering all the things on the menu because I’m now starving. So definitely agree horrible idea. Great tips!
My hack for eating out, is to try and go to "nicer" restaurants rather than chains. Because although they don't have the nutritional information available, fine dining restaurants usually have small portions and alot of fresh produce and proteins. So even if you end up having a three course meal, it is often pretty decent calorie wise.
I, personally just prefer to eat at home. Fast food has become just gross to me lol. Also the sodium is just ridiculous. I know! Sodium isnt bad for you but its just way too much at fast food joints. Also, I don't like the way I feel afterwards. I feel sluggish and tired.. then bloated for several days. Buttttt, going to Mexican restaurant... yahhhh I'm not counting a damn thing lol. But I do it once every few months. Just works a little better for me.. keep up the good work, Eric!
@@ericrobertsfitness so question for ya... would you mind doing a get to know me better video? Mainly around why you got you into fitness, where you started, chubby or skinny, and what are your goals as you grow your buisness?
@@ericrobertsfitness watching your videos and listening how you coach through them, it’s motivating me to become a fitness or nutrition coach of some sort. I’ve been on a weight loss journey four times now (after each of my babies) and every time I learn more about how this works and learn more about my body. I wish I knew 12 years ago what I know now. And while I’m still 40-50lbs over weight (40 lbs over my allowed max for the military), I feel so good and have finally just enjoyed this process (even on days I don’t enjoy it, lol)…. I weigh myself almost daily and always felt it was a good thing to do, but most people told me not to weigh myself. Including my registered dietician, who I let go of when she started getting too judgmental with comments like “yeah, that’s too many kids.” Let me be the judge if what’s too many kids for me and my family. Anyway… watching your videos just taught me how to simplify things and also validated a lot of things I was doing because it felt right. Thank you so much for what you do!
Thanks for sharing this, Eric. This was super informative! When you're on a calorie deficit versus on maintenance calories, how many meals on average per week do you generally eat outside? Also, I think a video on how this could apply while traveling (which can be tricky) would be super helpful too!
Great vid Eric always thankful for those advice, also a small tip too could be if exemple you know friday your going to the restaurant you can simply let say cut a small two or three hundred calories for a couple of days so like this when you go to the restaurant you have easily an extra 700 even to 1000 calories so if your normal day consist of 2000 you can have like 2800 and at the end of the week it still come to an overall deficit !!
Hello! I’m glad I found you on Tik tok. I listen to your podcast love it! You have great information, I feel accomplished listening to you. I think I know exactly the town you live in lol. My aunt lives in that town. Wish I would’ve bumped into you when we went for a walk. Sorry didn’t mean to sound stackerish. Thank you for the info you share!
Can you please do a video on emotional eating. I have been tracking my calories for a solid month but failed at meeting my goal macros due to stress/emotional eating
When you catch yourself, stop, and start over don’t give up.. we all have some kind of food issue to be watching this video. Just have some healthy snacks on hand in case you do this and it won’t be so bad (IE: swap chips with popcorn, sweets for fruit, little things like this matter) not sure if you’ll see this or reply but good luck..👍
Great video😊 . I fast in the morning and afternoon when i know i am going out and i stay within my calories. I just have the willpower to know what i want to look like and how i want to feel. Thats more important to me than overeating. I love your videos!!
Indian food is what always trips me up. The one plate rule is very helpful.
Yes!!

No way I’d rather know I’m getting a 590 Big Mac than totally be clueless about what was in my three course fine dining meal, to eat their own
Thank you for this
Thanks for watching :)

If I go out and then ate above my maintenance with 1k cals can I subtract them from the test rest of the week? Or daily cals are more important??
When I eat out, I just try to order food that's not fried and look for grilled or steamed so I don't feel guilty and eat like an asshole
Yes!!
