Brings back memories. My daughter and I did it on foot a few years ago to celebrate her 40th and my 70th. We probably went up quicker but it took us a lot longer to come down. Ben Lomond is her closest munro (she lives down near Drumlanrig and Ae, where my grandchildren can now put me to shame on the trails!) hence the choice. Great video. I think I've nearly caught up with them all now. Still waiting for lockdown to ease so that we get back out again on the bikes.
Mate, this looks absolutely quality, great vid. I know what I’m working up to this summer for sure. Just about started greeting when the bagpiper glides across the water, mon the Scotland.
Another awesome production! Love the use of drone footage. I've been wanting to see a MTB video going down a mountain that ends with bagpipes for some time. Thank you.
Loved it. Then the pipes coming at the end.. Wow.. We're so lucky to live here. I struggled just climbing Ben Lomond. When we did it several bikes went up and couldn't believe they could manage, it. 4k and some drone footage looks absolutely epic. Gimbal did an amazing job aswell.
McTrail Rider dude!! Very surprised!! Looks like the IS has stepped up a notch! You wearing a full helmet I take it. Footage coming down was perfect. Like someone else said, this is probaby your best edit! Looking forward to the next one man.
Nice Intro and Drone footage at the start accompanied by the audio track ("Stranger Danger" from YT Audio Library). Going up this mountain tomorrow (monday 21st sept 2020) so thought I'd check out your video first! Cheers my good man!
Oddly enough, my highland ancestors and other scottish immigrants who came to Ogden, Utah, USA in the 1850s named a peak here Ben Lomond, and I am getting ready to ride it. This brought me to your video which makes me want to make the pilgrimage back to the motherland and try the original someday. Looks just as gnarly and technical as ours if not moreso.
Who else was up clapping and stamping their feet when the boy was beltin' out that tune from the boat?! About a year ago we had a pipper on the last buss home belting out tunes all the way from Inverness to Nairn. I swear the buss was bunny hopping with everyone stanping their feet and gien it laldy 😁
I've been meaning to do this again. The first time I did it (i think it was in 2000), was on a specialised Rockhopper Comp, which had no suspension... could not feel my arms by the time I got to the bottom! Keep up the great vids!
I think that was my first MTB Munro. Such a great ride. I know you’ve found the drone to be a bit of a pain. It it really does add a great view and can really put the you and the landscape into perspective.
Great vid-last time I was walking up there a bloke on a hardtail P7 shot past me on the way down-nutter. BTW what is the music over the drone shots at the top? Keep it up.
The music is "Stranger Danger" from the RUclips Audio Library - used extensively by Ben Davidson in his videos on his channel "Suspicious 0bservers" in fact!
Another great vid, really enjoying your channel - especially when the TV is shite. I'm a keen roadie who just bought a new Mtb (half the fork is missing) to explore more of Scotland with my drones, keep up the good work, I subbed.
Daft question did yous carry the bikes up? A just walked it today an al tell ye guys massive respect to yous.. I’ve never experienced weather changing like that ever.. as if somebody flicked a switch an put the wind on
Yeah, we mainly carried the bikes up, like we do on most mountains rides. I’ve been lucky with the weather on the hills do far, but I’m fully aware of how quickly it can change up there.
McTrail Rider much obliged though it does depend on how keen my Grandad is to have a bike kept on his boat and well, frankly, Cameron house is not a mtb resort!
can you recommend any relatively easy down hill tracks in the West around this area, I've just got my bike this week after 16 years of not being on a bike 😂
I'm running 2.6 up front and 2.5 wide trail out back. I recently put in the Cush Core front and rear. i'm hitting everything harder and faster, simply because i can! I feel it hit the rim a lot but the Cush Core softens so much it does not matter.
Savage man, love it. I can’t wait till I do it, I miss living up that way. Those drone shots were class! Good stuff 👍 Do you have an App or something for trails?
you seem to be spoiled for choice in Alba when it comes to big mountain riding. parts of this remind me of the rangers path on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). keep up the good work.
McTrail Rider love it mate cause you deserve it 👍😀 I really hope it takes off now with all your new subscriber joining your channel mate 👍 and for me it all thanks to Luke on reluctant rider mentioned you on his channel wish Luke had more time to make vids 👍😀
McTrail Rider well Big thanks to Luke off me mate, cause on my behalf I was hooked after watching your first vid mate 👍 my pleasure for the help Mate. If I had more it would be yours 😁👍
Seemed to be noticeably less talking in this one for a change, on purpose ? Also I'm sure you rode around the Stirling area but for the life of me I can't find the video unless I'm making it up
Andrew, I really like the videos but lay off the comments with others in the countryside please. We all love a day out no matter what we are doing, I'm speaking from experience too with Rambler hassle on the trails. You're great with the encouragement with your girlfriend but not with others you're out with. I know it's banter too but it doesn't come across very well.
Cool, thought you may have kept it in the bag, but I suppose Strava will give the game away too, looking forward to his thoughts on the Scotland and/or UK. Your 3k is going to rise significantly soon. ☝☝☝👊👊👊 Ah, just saw your insta too.

Glad you got to relive some of your memories through my video John 😁
Absolutely amazing video! That trail looked immense, so technical, great riding and fantastic drone footage, loved that :)
I'd forgotten what a long downhill that was. Was up there in the mid '80s. Thanks for the memories.
.....and nae suspension then 😮
You guys made that look easy , I’m going to try it but I’ll need to walk some . Well done
Thanks for filming. That place is truly amazing.
That was a stunning intro edit Andrew. Looks so much smoother and flat than it actually is with the GoPro.
McTrail Rider wish I had more energy in reserve to enjoy the motorway section. Seem to have recovered now thankfully :D
my new nick name :(
Mate, this looks absolutely quality, great vid. I know what I’m working up to this summer for sure. Just about started greeting when the bagpiper glides across the water, mon the Scotland.
The bag pipes couldn’t have been timed any better if I tried 🏴
Another awesome production! Love the use of drone footage. I've been wanting to see a MTB video going down a mountain that ends with bagpipes for some time. Thank you.

Best edit you've done some great riding to mate

The pipper on the loch did it for me 👏👏👏
Drone footage is great! Gives a lot more perspective to the terrain you are riding which is cool
Another great video. Looking forward to the bkxc ride footage
I’ve been looking forward to this one after seeing the pictures on Instagram! The video did not disappoint! Great video mate!
Love the drone shots. Fantastic country this.
loved the drone shots at the top...and the pipes in the end
McTrail Rider 👌

What a nice coincidence 👍 Is funny seeing all the UK names reflected over in the states, will need to look your Ben Lomond up 👍
I like the look of that trail. That last section was well worth a clap. Very well done.
Great video! Really made me want to get up there and ride that trail. Kept putting it off but no excuses now, its so local to me.
I picked up a Kenevo last week. By the looks of it an ebike might even be a heavy hindrance getting to the top of Ben Lomond.
Damn I commented on another video yesterday and you had 4.9k subs... now I’m watching this one and you have 5.2k congrats man
Cheers guys. Just got me stoked for going out on my bike!
Who else was up clapping and stamping their feet when the boy was beltin' out that tune from the boat?! I only know the first two lines! There may only be two?
Amazing! What camera do u use if u dont mind me asking?
I've been meaning to do this again. The first time I did it (i think it was in 2000), was on a specialised Rockhopper Comp, which had no suspension... could not feel my arms by the time I got to the bottom!
Keep up the great vids!
Now that’s an achievement! Now that u have the luxury of using full suspension, I doubt I would ever go fully rigid on this 😬
Haha the end was surreal! Great trail... I was bunny hoping the sofa :D
Those rims !!!!!
I flat spotted my Flows pretty well recently .
I think that was my first MTB Munro. Such a great ride.
I know you’ve found the drone to be a bit of a pain. It it really does add a great view and can really put the you and the landscape into perspective.
Your right, the drone is a pain 😜
I’ve got a proper follow done ordered now, hopefully it works well 🤞
@@McTrailRider well I’m looking forward to seeing how well it gets on.
No better place than Scotland on a sunny day especially if your on a bike . That walker fairly got out the way when you were coming down 😂 great vid 👍
Would love to see drone/rider footage. Great skills at the end too.
Awesome riding👌 that piper requires remedial though 😬🙈
Them Views! Amazing trail great footage.
Good stuff buddy . How much time take to the top ?
Nice, think we are going to tackle it this Sunday if weather is clear. What's the best time of day to head up?
Sound advice man, thanks!
Oh Man what an awesome video
Got arm pump myself watching that lol great vid great edit on the money again loved the end ✅✅✅ you going to do well mate best on RUclips 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
very good videos and a little downhill, a warm greeting from Spain ...
Great drone shots!
Great vid, one of the best
Cracking video, you boy's were flying. ( Please keep putting the locations in the titles )
Another great vid, really enjoying your channel - especially when the TV is shite. I'm a keen roadie who just bought a new Mtb (half the fork is missing) to explore more of Scotland with my drones, keep up the good work, I subbed.

Yeah, we mainly carried the bikes up, like we do on most mountains rides.
I’ve been lucky with the weather on the hills do far, but I’m fully aware of how quickly it can change up there.
Your arms must have been sore after that descent. I was knackered just watching it 😄. Nice video 👍🏻
Would you happen to know how easy Ben Lomond is to get to from the marina at the bottom of the loch
McTrail Rider much obliged though it does depend on how keen my Grandad is to have a bike kept on his boat and well, frankly, Cameron house is not a mtb resort!
Stunning ride Mate.
Mental. Walked this, can appreciate the descents.
There’s definitely a few chunky spots on the way down, but the bikes nowadays a very capable too 👍
Amazing video, great intro 👍🏼. What is the name of the song that you used for the intro? 👍🏼👊🏼🤟🏼
Really sorry Andy, I can’t remember the name of the song, I got it off Epidemic sounds though.
@@McTrailRider No worries mate 👍🏼. Really enjoying your new videos, shows some great trails that we have in Scotland 👍🏼👊🏼🤟🏼🏴.
Those drone shots 👌
can you recommend any relatively easy down hill tracks in the West around this area, I've just got my bike this week after 16 years of not being on a bike 😂
wipe out proper ACE im up there next week hope to ride ben lomond :) top vids
i sure will :) if i do enything like your rideing ill be over joyed :)
Do you run anything like Cush Core in your tires, thats a lot of square edges!!
I'm running 2.6 up front and 2.5 wide trail out back. I recently put in the Cush Core front and rear. i'm hitting everything harder and faster, simply because i can! I feel it hit the rim a lot but the Cush Core softens so much it does not matter.
Last 30 seconds is the most Scottish thing I've ever seen
yeah, but poor piping!
Amazing video. Fantastic.
How long did it take to get to the top, I’ve arranged this for my group June 10th
3 hours 9 mins 30s if you are an old asthmatic unfit lump :(
In that case under 4hrs I’m aiming for 😂😂 cheers guys, superb footage as usual 👍🏻
MTB Scotland - describes me perfectly lol, the asthma is a battle all on its own m8
Now I don’t like to ask this question, but could you ride ben Lomond on a hardtail?
McTrail Rider fair enough, could you recommend anywhere near the loch that would be a bit more hardtail friendly?
McTrail Rider much obliged
Looks like a great ride mate 🤘🏻
Great vid. Love the views.
Savage man, love it. I can’t wait till I do it, I miss living up that way. Those drone shots were class! Good stuff 👍
Do you have an App or something for trails?
McTrail Rider I lived in Balloch and Rosneath, I live at balloch when the oasis concert was there, used to go to vale of leven academy, good times
Is your bike downhill or enduro?
Just walked recently and thinking of taking my bike out ride downhill. I only have a enduro bike
We were all on trail/enduro bikes. I don’t think a downhill bike would be much better on this kind of trail TBH
amazing footage. nice1 bud 👍
Awesome video absolutely stunning
Awesome! and the Bag Pipes - Right on cue! ;)
Hope he was a subscriber ;)
Nice Video, Nice Ride !
you seem to be spoiled for choice in Alba when it comes to big mountain riding. parts of this remind me of the rangers path on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). keep up the good work.
The numbers on that best enduro vid !!! And I thought I saw you photo bombing some other dudes vid !! Turns out it’s mtb Scotland!!

Same shorts mate😜
Epic 📸👌
Seemed to be noticeably less talking in this one for a change, on purpose ? Also I'm sure you rode around the Stirling area but for the life of me I can't find the video unless I'm making it up
Lovely day for it :o)
awesome
needs a bike shop at the end of that trail selling brake pads, lol
Andrew, I really like the videos but lay off the comments with others in the countryside please. We all love a day out no matter what we are doing, I'm speaking from experience too with Rambler hassle on the trails.
You're great with the encouragement with your girlfriend but not with others you're out with. I know it's banter too but it doesn't come across very well.
Freaking hell, those YTubers are so loaded these days, he even gets a motorboat and a bagpipe player for the outro...
;-p
Have you hooked up with Brian Kennedy while he's here?
Cool, thought you may have kept it in the bag, but I suppose Strava will give the game away too, looking forward to his thoughts on the Scotland and/or UK. Your 3k is going to rise significantly soon. ☝☝☝👊👊👊
Ah, just saw your insta too.
