*As per Google's track record, the updates will indeed drastically improve the Pixel 8 pro.*
I can see that 5x lens and portraits aren't optimised yet on my device. Gcam mods kinda fix it and even add the 5x Portrait option.
What surprised me is that Pixel 8 pro is almost neck to neck with my iphone 14 pro in videos. The upcoming night sight video might even surpass the iphones in low-light videos considering the low-light photos from Pixel 8 pro are the best right now. The AI stuff, haptics, display etc are top tier on the Pixel 8 pro tbh.
Unless you're into heavy gaming, Pixel 8 pro is a great buy. The price here in India is kinda high though compared to the USA.

Pixel phones are kind of love. Once you use it, nothing can match their software experience. Im never gonna shift to any other ui for sure.

@@nayyuuuuuuiu853 I mean for iPhone people are paying extra for the brand value. Pixel is still relatively new their processesor and battery backup isn't that good. If I had 1L to buy a phone I'd rather buy s22 ultra which is still far superior phone than pixel barring the AI features.
No doubt pixel 8 pro is a great phone but the pricing just makes it undesirable imo.
Thanks for the review. I think so too that Apple has to work on its shadow areas as ceetain photos look pretty bad especially, the backlit ones. You said something about "softer HDR conditions are very well exposed and more true to life" for the iphone at 10.12min mark what do you mean by that? Is this a setting within the iphone that can be adjusted or the surrounding scene itself? Tks.

my guy ive been using the pixel 3a since it was released. you guys make a big deal about literally nothing. currently running the pixel 8 and heating only happens when youre recording videos out in the sun. unles youre a gamer it really doesnt matter.

I am very confused how the camera optimisation differ from place to place, but wonder how the telephoto of pixel can't cope of with IPhone 15 pro max, because as of know I have seen from some other videos they are praising the P8pro's telephoto more as it is more superior quality wonder how that changes as per your samples .

Tensor G3 manufactured by Samsung foundry is a real problem for Pixel due to heating and battery drain. How is the network reception on this one ?

Can I re test the video comparison from the main camera i thought the pixel would atleast match the iPhone when it comes to video quality atleast from the main sensor
Pixel 8 Pro is the phone to get as it's priced about right according to features, but S24 will beat Pixel 8 next year with three camera lenses at 80k, the optical zoom does make a difference. The video on the pixels this year is hella impressive even if it doesn't beat iPhone, the noise was something I had to "look" for in some samples. I'm glad that they bumped the battery on Pixel 8 to 4500Mah giving more headroom for daily usage.
Nothing can beat a pixel, they are targeting a certain amount of audiance with the phone, it's not for everyone. I am using 7pro as my primary phone and i don't see point of moving to any other phone for the sake of things that I will never use in my life..

Samsung is a joke. It is very choppy software and it sucks. Pixel is way better in terms of experience camera and updates. Samsung is just a box with no life

Okay so im a fan of pixel cameras over iPhone cameras. But as an unbiased photographer I have to admit iPhone 15 pro is the most advanced camera ever put on a smartphone. And I didn't expect myself to say this. Apple made a GIANT improvement on this year's iPhone. the 5x is also the nicest 120mm lens ive seen on a smartphone. But I think it's mostly thanks to Apple's portrait mode which is the best of any other smartphone.
It's probably down to what competitive advantage they want to focus on. No phone can do it all.

Even astrophotography on iPhone beats the Samsung Ultra when iPhone doesn’t even have an Astro-mode built in. Portraits are more accurate on iPhone 15 pro with background and foreground depth. I will buy myself a moment 2x lens when I get my iPhone 15 Pro Max that way I can have a 10x lens. Or maybe I’ll just get the smaller pro. But zoom is all up to the optics I buy no problem. It’s everything I wanted in a phone. Apple focused on every aspect of a camera this time around.

Using the pixel since a year now, yes I don't need the raw performance but the phone gets warm very easily on 5G usage and the battery life is avg AF, 5hr SoT is a great day, I want to get someother phone but the pictures it takes just stops me, I wonder when this love hate relationship with my phone is going to end, hope google goes with some mid range qualcomm chipset.

Funnily enough, after you said @ 10:26 "In low light, Pixel beats the iPhone fair and square, you get more details ... in Pixel ", @10:29 the zoom-in photo shows the opposite. Everything is sharper in the iPhone's photo, especially when reading the book titles.
iPhone really focused on photos this year. Still would never buy one but its impressive. All around, front facing, rear, photos,videos, its the camera king.

Portrait blur doesn't require magic editor. It has been there since pixel 2 or 3.
I used to love Pixel pictures, but it seems they are overdoing the HDR sometimes. But, oh boy, the iPhone has caught up really well!

To be honest p8p is not huge upgrade as compared to p7p in camera dept except some of the features like pro mode or better ultrawide camera. Otherwise 90% of the output are similar with both phones ofcourse need to pay extra as well. Maybe wait for p9p or p10p😅

Let's all remind ourselves how pricey is the 15 Pro Max is compared to the Pixel 8 Pro. Coming close in the camera department and being better with the AI stuff is a huge win for Google.

Google should work with Snapdragon to custom build the current flagship processor for AI specific features instead of building its own inferior processor.

Is the price justified for Pixel 8 and 8 Pro , I agree camera is a huge improvement but what about the performance and battery backup , it's mediocre to say the best. Even Flossy Carter mentioned that he's getting trash bb on Pixel 8 Pro. These all are software tricks but the hardware other than camera is not great . It's already throttling like hell , are these phones even gonna perform same after 2 years forget 7 years .

one of the frustrating thing about watching a lot of reviews is...i used the 14 and pixel 7 and they trade places with who's king now. but, 14 pro max was not a top phone for camera. apple to me hasn't had great leaps in quality for awhile. but, because it's a new device with 15 they automatically rate it up with the real top cameraphones. but, to me it's not the best at all. not even close to ones i've used. it just has the name and ridiculous price. i hope they don't produce a new model until they actually make a leap worth buying.
the metrics the reviews use to me don't test it in ways we can really tell what's the best. things like bezels, or hdr, or, 120 hz refresh rate...this stuff isn 't what camera heads crave for phones.

I used android for around 6 years and now I shifted to iPhone 15 pro max and to be honest I like vivo in terms of camera because iPhone clicks way more natural photos. I just realised that I like slight boosted colours.😊

Iphone is still far ahead when it comes to typical and auto brightness which is what matters and can be achieved on like 80% screen area.

Pixel 6 Pro user, here. I use Magic Eraser frequently. I wish I had that Photo Unblur, but, oh well. But 8 Pro above 1L?! NOPE. DON'T.

5:04 It seems that you are not very familiar with the phone/pixel lineup. Pixels have been able to add background blur post snap since 2019. So this is definitely not something new! The review is more trustworthy, if you are actually knowledgeable about the phone you are reviewing.

An honest take on the Pixel series: Here's our cheap out hax phone. Sure, we cheap out on raw performance but we have software that's haxx. And this time we are not cheaping out on the cameras. It's our ultimate hax.
