You never know when you might have a chance to save a life when you’re just going about your every day business. Even a child can learn CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver. If certified, you can carry an EpiPen and Narcan.

      @coover65 Год назад

      @@08_crown_vic Quite a misunderstood word "professional", with a few meanings. I was referring to it in the context of "ones paid profession". I have no doubt that they act in nothing short of a professional manner. Do American paramedics have to attain a university degree in paramedicine like Australian ones, and if so does Hatzalah or the individual pay for university fees?

    • @08_crown_vic

      @coover65 Год назад

      @@08_crown_vic Thank you for that. Sounds very different to here. I'm lucky to have had my degree paid for by our employer as I joined nearly 25 years ago. Those wanting to join an ambulance service now need a Bachelor of Paramedicine as a pre-requisite, followed by a year as an intern. Then they can register and work autonomously under guidelines. We do have volunteers who assist paramedics in remote locations, but the patient care management falls on the paramedic. We don't have volunteer paramedics, just as don't have volunteer nurses, dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists and the like. I think anybody who volunteers their time like this should be offered some sort of tax breaks or some sort of reward. Cheers.
