  • I'm showcasing one of my favorite features of the Kaleidescape platform. That being the ability to run a default ultra widescreen UI for the scope screen in my home theater. No other home theater source, to my knowledge, does this. Here is how to configure it.

    Once you get a video processor like a Lumagen or MadVR the switching happens instantaneously (though it will take a few seconds for your projector to do the HDMI handshake when the media is detected) and it’s pretty amazing to experience. When you do, I recommend keeping your cover menu UI at 16:9. there’s something about the screen expanding from the 16:9 menus to 1.85 or 2.40 for the studio logo that is pretty magical to experience.

      I'd been debating what default setting would I use with a processor. Another reason, for me, for 16:9 native would that I use the same, single Strato in both the theater and living room. So having this UI set is a little wonky when using the K in the living room. It still works though, and I care about the theater presentation more.

    Yep! We were just talking about this regarding AppleTV’s missing feature. Very excited to enjoy this feature when I can K up. At the same time, no regrets on upgrading to laser NZ7. Very very happy with that choice.

      You can zoom on apple TV its practically the same thing, The only time you notice anything is during the credits. This platform is so expensive it is beyond reasonable for most people to afford. I looked into switching into it and while it is really nice it is just absurdly expensive.

    A feature like this is my top request for AppleTV’s UI. Although I love my scope screen, dissatisfaction with constant lens memory changes eventually led me down the video processor rabbit hole.

      It’s been my top request for Apple ever since I installed a scope screen 3 years ago. I really don’t care about anything else they’ve done.

    I agree that it would be amazing for other media devices to follow suit and maybe start making a path towards a video processor not being such a neccessity with scope aspect ratios. If I ever found myself fortunate enough to go with a projector I feel at the current moment with how much tv/video game console stuff, 16:9 is the obvious choice for me cause the money you'll save lol. I hope the next generation of consoles pack in ultrawide support, it's unlikely but certainly possible. I've been waiting for high refresh rate to come to console since like 2016, and in 2020 we finally got it.,

    IMO Apple won’t be bringing this functionality to the ATV4K because it really only applies to projector use and most ATV users are connected to TV’s.

      Maverick has the changing aspect ratios in K. The setting I'm discussing in this video though only affect the UI, not content.

    Hey Bro are you excited for the 8K 3D iTunes films for the VisionPro. Most exciting is their new Lossless Codec for entertainment. I feel that this is going to be implemented in the Apple TV 4K in the future. To me, it's INCREDIBLY exciting. Look at how the iPod hanged the landscape. When it launched, people on MacRumours forum where hailing it as the worst thing ever, the death of Apple!!!!! Look how that lead to the iPhone which changed the world and continues to build - CarPlay, AirPlay, 4K Dolby Vision, Atmos, etc etc. I feel that this is the very very start for the future of streaming, watching film and seeing and hearing it in the best possible future formats!

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I'm getting more and more excited about the potential of the Vision and the implications it might have in this hobby. My pre-order is in, and I'll really be talking about it from a premium home theater replacement perspective.

      Most have this with projectors for the true theatre experience. DV doesn’t matter

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  5 месяцев назад +2

      Look to the next generation of the Strato for possibility of DV. The large flat panel market to 98" and bigger is heating up. K should take notice of this opportunity.

    You can simple zoom on Apple TV and get almost the same effect. While yeah it does cut off a bit of content I would say 99% of people watching would never even know something has been cut off. Its only annoying during the opening and credits if they get cut off, Kaleidescape is absurdly expensive. Nice but too much money for what it offers.
