It’s probably because they aren’t blood related. I don’t find it that weird since they weren’t raised as cousins. Like with Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying they were raised as brothers so it would be weird for them to be shipped even though they aren’t blood related if you know what I mean ;-;
They aren't blood related and wei wuxian was not related with wen yuan which means they can be lovers I think wen ning and wen qing was also not related with wen yuan idk much.

actually wwx was coughing blood in the first video because he got stabbed during season three and it was just a reaction of the injury acting up so the beginning is actually incorrect because you need to remember he’s not in his old body and that never happened in his old body and he still has his golden core in this body.

In the beginning you mentioned that the reason why Wei Wuxian was throwing up blood was because of his golden core. I'm pretty sure it was because Jin Ling had stabbed Wei Wuxian previously. But perhaps I misunderstood what you meant or this is an AU?
An au, where wei ying is still connected to his core and if he gets to close to it then it damages his body. Hope that clears things up a bit sorry for the confusion

Lan shizhui is technically a wen different clan completely and wei wuxian isn't related to jiang cheng or yanil so I wouldn't think so.
