Just gotta say its awesome to really hear Corey cuz he just doesnt do alot of the social media stuff. So thats why everybody is dropping hints at Corey cuz he's an awesome dude and we just hear from him more
You can see how when the band talks how loose and real they are. There’s nothing scripted or BS here, and I believe that translates well into amazing music writing and chemistry. Thanks for doing these Matt, as a hardcore Trivium fan it warms my heart to see the friendship you all have \m/
Corey is such a chill guy! I've always seen him as very serious for some reason xD Now I'd love to hear re-recordings of the songs Matt teased, or live recordings or something, that first riff Matt show was fire!
@@matthewkheafy I think that really might be it, after all this is a super new upload - thnx for bringing Corey in! he's amazing and I feel like his story is a bit obscure, thnx so much!
Corey is the man! I was up in the front row at one of your concerts and when you guys opened up, Corey was head banging so hard the water was coming off his wet hair and spraying me lol! What a true die hard! That guys lives, breaths, and shits metal 🤘🏻🤘🏻
holy shiiiiit!! I have just watched Paolo´s and i was wondering when we would get blessed by Corey as well, i couldnt be happier. Thanks Matt for doing these episodes
Its so crazy that Corey is from my home town and lived there at the same time I lived there. I was born in Lincoln. I went to Mayo Street and SeDoMoCha in Dover-Foxcroft, but moved to SWFL in '97. I always think why they didnt or if our paths would have ever crossed if I never moved. All you guys fuckin rock! Cant wait for the new album.
Great , now all I seem to be doing is waiting for it to happen..btw Corey was cool to talk to after a gig in the uk,but best one I saw trivium was at Cardiff uni on shogun tour
Being from NH, Hearing Corey talk about Maine and Massachusetts makes me so happy. Show’s these guys are human, and we have been to the same places which is so crazy
Amazing again Matt! Again like in the other 2 with Alex and Paolo. That relationship you guys have is amazing! One thing would be awesome to see... just the 4 of you. That would be awesome
Well done interview! I appreciated you guys going deep into stuff and not holding anything back with topics like your demos and gear collabs - it makes you guys feel down to earth and accessible and relate-able.
I’m 44yrs old & i surprised myself getting into Trivium because I grew up with Maiden,Priest,Carnivore,Type O Negative,Megadeth,Metallica,SLaYeR Etc & self taught myself bass guitar. I first seen Trivium in roughly 2003/2004 at Harpos in Detroit with Amon Amarth & Children Of Bodom was headlining. I went there to see Children Of Bodom & mainly Alexi Liho but I wasn’t aware of Amon Amarth & Trivium really & Trivium was really young, & Amon Amarth were already out for 12/13yrs but not noticed really yet but Trivium blew me away & I seen Trivium at Harpos in Detroit like 2-3 more times. Harpos is a kick ass hard core metal venue with a huge deadly mosh pit!
Please find that riff from the Shogun documentary intro that was super heavy and fast. I think Corey said it was from ‘Silence in the Snow’ before that was a thing. But one of the sickest riffs
That’s funny. I caught the Cryptic Writing tour in Jax Fl. It was a great show. I still remember the tiny black dress the Coal Chamber bassist was wearing.
Awesome to see Corey streaming and being interviewed! Thanks Matt!! Corey really is a Beast! 🤘 Also reading other comments about his hair color change?? That only makes him more Badass!!
PLEASE RELEASE THE PRE-EMBER STUFF!!! The “full-sail” thing seems to be appropriately recorded! 21:26 “Bliztkrieg” is thrash AF! Don’t be ashamed of the amateur vocals, everyone loves the early stuff regardless! I would LOVE to see an entire episode dedicated to unreleased material.
Super stoked to see Cory and hear a bit about his Story. It was awesome of your parents to let him stay at your place. I bet this was during his full sail time? Matt did you go to Full sail?
fucken love Corey, once I was getting kicked out thru the backstage area at a show in Toronto and Corey was there warming up and we both had an awkward moment! lol i got let back in after giving up my joint and pleading my case
Seriously big shoutout to the Palladium in Worcester. Without that venue us Maine boys are still largely SOL when it comes to good metal shows. Bangor is 90% country shows and Portland only gets only a few every year.
I use the Boss ODB-3 as a clean boost in my set. It has low and high EQ. But since it’s a bass pedal, the low just cuts the muddy low end on guitar and the High kinda is a hi-medium. And had Level and Gain, so it’s a really great clean boost, super controlable. The drive sounds horrible on the guitar.
Wheezy I’m confused. Where in my comment did you see me having a cry? Seriously, point that shit out to me. Calm down, back the fuck up and reevaluate yourself.
Blake Morris I would imagine that they only make in the low ends of six figures. I could be wrong. I just found one article that stated they made about 10k for one night. Then that has to be split with each band, I’m sure, then amongst the four of them. So likely not super rich lol
@@Traviolie Yeah, they can definitely support themselves and their families. But it's still super shitty that a band so talented, determined and big as them gets such low revenues. I think that's why we don't hear much about new bands: even if it's not only for the money, people still have to put food on the table at the end of the day.
It's unfortunate that bands that are amazing like Trivium, Gojira, and many others don't make the amount that they truly deserve. But I mean think about it right now there are only 3 metal bands that make huge figures. Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest? I know for a fact the former 2. But bands like Trivium are only known in the metal community. And now albums are majority streamed not like it used to be. So rock bands especially metal bands don't make much money. Only through tours and merch. 😞
I could listen to Uncle Corey stories all day

Matt. For the love of God. We need these songs released. And a re-record would be amazing!
Corey had to show up late to be the polar opposite of matt.
The downside to being punctual is that there is no one else around to appreciate it. ;)
The way corey talk about how he discovered trivium just like father told his son about how he met his mother
