  • As Ukraine's forces keep battling Russia, some civilians are playing a pivotal role in repelling the enemy. Consumer drones in particular have become a crucial tool in the Ukraine war.
Hundreds of civilian drone operators have been documenting everything from Russian troop movements to evidence of war crimes. Their images are posted online or shared with Ukrainian authorities, leaving the Russian invasion force nowhere to hide-all because of commercial technology that even kids can operate.
In a Global News exclusive, Jeff Semple introduces you to a 15-year-old drone pilot getting credit for helping to spot and destroy a row of Russian military vehicles.

There is a good chance that what you are seein in his eyes is fear. He seems like an intelligent young man and he probably realizes that being identified in a video by face and name, and having his actions against the Russian military described in a conflict that is ongoing, is going to most likely make him a target. Killing him would make sense tactically, to remove future actions from him from occurring, but importantly as a form of propaganda. People who take this kind of action lose their status as a civilian and killing him would send a big message to those who may choose to follow in his footsteps. Whoever chose to first video this and then publish it, has put his life in danger. There will be plenty of time to point out the heros AFTER the conflict is over. The most tragic thing about watching this is knowing the danger it puts him in when there is absolutely no benefit that he receives as part of the process. This is literally putting his life in danger for the purpose of gaining "likes".

On the Russian side it is Putin's miscalculation, but actually it is something the West always wanted and were quite happy to play out on someone else's territory. So, if God is to be the judge, well, we might all end up in that flickering flame known as hell!
Credit to the kid for being brave enough in that situation, just remember those tanks had conscripted teenagers in.

True, but being a child makes it difficult to reason fully. Going from worrying about a test at school to being implicated in the death of a dozen men is a long one. Every normal adult would react to it as well, although most would have no issue reasoning it since letting them in would cause far greater suffering on your own people. Still, this is why one normally try to keep kids away from such things, but sometimes that is just a luxury.

If you are at war and you are thinking about shooting and killing another human being, you better turn to gardening or agriculture in your life. There are people who just give up and do nothing for themselves and their country and wait for someone else to do it for them!
In war, on the other side of your rifle scope is the enemy, someone who wants to destroy your home, kill your family, you and your friends. After that, that "human being" will hoist his flag in your yard and declare it his territory with the indication: "We have conquered this and all this is ours now! We will kill the owner if he returns to his property!"
Think about it and tell me: If a convoy of vehicles with "human beings" armed towards you wanted to demolish your neighborhood and you have a way to report it to the authorities, what would you do? Would you still be in a dilemma whether to report to the authorities who would kill them, or would you have compassion for the executioners and the occupier?
Why do people call the police when they see armed robbery, rape, massacre, shootings on the street and at school? You claim that those people who shoot are "human beings" after all? We do not live in an ideal world and we all need to contribute to security. It will get worse and worse. Greetings from an experienced professional soldier.

The first one or first time is always the hardest kid, you’ll never forget it I can promise you that much. One thing you need to realize and come to understand early on is YOU did what YOU had to do to protect you and yours. You weren’t wrong for it and I think you’re a man absolute stellar young man. Good head on your shoulders. Don’t let it eat you up.

People like Putin, and some of his soldiers, take advantage of those that have a heart. And truly do not like to cause harm to them.
In these times, one must harden his heart against those that would harm him and his family, with no remorse.

Yes what he must realise is those invaders would have shot his whole
family in a blink of an eye. The right to self defense is absolute.

Why is America meating in Ukraine at all? That is a problem far from her ... She wants the war to spread to Europe. If she hadn't intervened, the war wouldn't have started..America should be at the bottom of the ocean to live normally ..

Never forget Omar Kahdr should have also been treated like a hero but Canada allowed him to suffer in Guantanamo Bay for a decade because he was a little brown muslim boy. Canada is the land of hypocrisy and racists.

@@dijanapopovic4201 Well thats just NOT true , and I will tell u why.
During putins speeches he has made it very clear that first we must
take Ukraine , then Moldova , and he has made it very clear he wants
the 3 Baltic states next. He has also threatened Finland, Sweden should
they dare to join NATO , which of course nothing to do with him. So
thankfully Ukraine is fighting very hard for their survival. So if we did
not support Ukraine , wait to he took Moldova, he already invaded
Crimea, maybe get involved when he invades the 3 baltic states ?
putin has brought this mess on his own head and it the poor russian
people paying the cost with lost sons.
