Great episode. I could listen to you guys talk Blood DK strats and theory craft for hours on end. I'm glad you addressed the Fallen Crusader vs Stoneskin Gargoyle. I've been running Fallen crusader since day one but was feeling unsure it was the play. Also, shout out to Riyani for going to Metallica! GG boys, until the next one.

Shortly before ~2:26:54 Army ghouls have not been changed to work with Death Pact. That worked in Wrath (Classic at least). Made for a nice combo of DR and health recovery.

I initially went with the icyveins/wow head reccommened blood dk talent/glyph build but have recently swapped some things around that I've been really enjoying. I only put 1 point in taste of blood and the blood boil perk and doesn't notice a significant difference in how often they proc for me and i put those 2 points into the extra range on icy hands (i like the extra range for tagging enemies farther away as well as extra dps in situations when i can't melee the boss ((archemedes while in the air/lava phase nefarian etc)) and I take the two points from abominations might and put them into the lich borne perk and the cheaper interrupt. I set up a marco to trigger lichborne/vampiric blood and then attack myself with death coil for a quick 19k heal. I normally only use vampiric blood when I get the free rune heal proc (something tap from bane of the necropolis perk) and since it has a 1 minute cool down I'll always have vamp when I use my lichborne macro.
Another thing i like it only 2 points in the extra disease time and then 1 into 10% more disease dmg. It works out to be the same dps as the 33 seconds but i find myself always reapplying it the second the plague strike (both diseases every 30 seconds) is off cooldown anyway since every other i have rune weapon ready to go again. So rather than lose 3 seconds of dmg I'd rather have the extra dmg always activite.
My group is going to be doing heorics this week since we've full cleared normal in 3 hours both weeks so I'm excited to try out golems blood and fallen crusader

We finally got Nef down Subtle!! Your vids helped a ton and even the comments on your vids. For me it 100% came down to paying attention to the blaze timers which I was not doing. Once I realized the adds are super manageable damage wise until high stacks it changed the fight (normal lol) completely. Thanks for the vids! I'm gonna submit a question this week.

One thing that Blood DK logs dont show us is whether or not you took enough damage to build Vengeamce stacks.
When comparing against 'middle of the pack' DKs youll still need to confirm that they were actually tanking. Can end up gearing correctly with the right rotation, but just being an offtank.
Would help a lot if there was a threashold for damage taken or boss threat % of fight, for war raftlogs to distonguish between maintanks & off tanks (similar to Guardian vs Warden for ferals on ICC; or Protection vs Gladiator for warriors in WotLK; or Blood Tank vs Rune Strike for DKs in wrath)
Yah they used to have this, not sure why they went away from it. Very few BDKs are OTs though

Challenge idea, runes grow and are opaque when charging, when free to use they are transparent. Small window to see and use rune
well was listening your opener - i have one addition to it (on solo target fights at least) - you can go dnd at like 10-9. so you'll have that rune back by the pull, but will get extra 10 rp, and after that you army + horn
P.S on valiona it's not reaching the flying one without glyph
I'll have to try that again. I think I stopped because it delayed one of my unholy runes from being usable when I needed it, since the other is being used for army

Would love to go a little deeper on Outbreak on the pull you mention- for me I’ve been saving it until I can DRW, then double the diseases and hopefully have some juicier Heart Strikes as I’m building that initial threat. Any thoughts there?
I need to look at it more but the idea is the damage from the extra ticks, the increased HS damage from having diseases up, and getting an extra GCD during DRW makes up for the loss of higher ap dobule diseases
@@SubtleFWgot it! Does HS scale with DRW’s diseases? (E.g. hits 2x as hard since there are 2x diseases)

I run gdkps on my druid alt and our raid leader offtanked most of 8/13 run on fresh dinged icc bis geared prot pala. So i think pala is doing fine so far 😂

Man i gotta say cata as an expansion has been great but the community has changed so much i feel like i'm playing league. I've had blood dks ripping in to my group for not beating them in dps in a dungeon, a prot paladin in cloth and leather trying to tank BH and last night topped it. We had a blood dk pull 1st boss in normal dungeon with 2 maged and the healer oom and then tripled everyone in dmg and tried to kick the hunter for being low on dps. Our healer said brb door and the tank chain pulled a solid 10 seconds later. We all wipe he tried to kick healer, healer left. Then he tried to kick the hunter for needing on a green then i got kicked because i asked for a res from the new healer because i couldnt find the entrance to the dungeon (in my defense i know its on the map i looked and flew around for a minute but it's in the fuckin cloudw ok give me a break atleast i tried). All that without even mentioning the guild groups that queue into heroics and need on everything now. Game has gotten so toxic since wotlk it's sad
Is that a common experience for you? I've only really seen that a couple times in hundreds of runs
@@SubtleFW the guild groups needing things? It's happened a few times this week. Tbh i try to run dungeons with people I know now and auction house flip instead of rdf heroics. It is way better for my peace of mind lol
Good to see BDK DPS optimizations given that the discord is full of dad mode tauren male deep prot warrior in vanilla players. If you aren't dying and not optimizing damage, then you're a bad tank full stop. Same thing will hit healers in a couple of expansions if classic continues.
Yah never understood the mindset of ignoring damage optimizations where it makes sense. People leave a lot on the table
SoD novelty is dead honestly especially with the whole seasonal aspect idk how people fall for the seasonal shit every time lol
