I've had mine a couple of months. No rust and no temperature inconsistentcy issues. I've cooked brisket, pork chops, pork butter and currently smoking some cornish hens!
I just picked one up two weeks ago. Had two cooks so far. Did a spatchcock chicken and a rack of ribs which both cooked perfectly. Only concern I had was that my set temperature was off sometimes by 40 plus degrees from my set temp even when the lid was closed for an extended period of time. I probed at the grate level with the provided meat probe, and I also use two additional probes with my therm pro (One in the protein, and another at the grate level to compare what the expert grill says the temp is) It was only by doing this that I truly knew what the cook temp was. I was able to tweak it here and there to keep everything constant. Without that, I'd argue that the temp swings a little too much throughout a low and slow cook. Are you trusting the internal thermometer with your cooks when you say that there's no temperature issues on your unit?
@@DezMusic247 mine had a subtle smoke flavor. Was able to remedy that with a smoke tube. Nothing is quite like a stick burner, but this will definitely do you if you crave that smoke flavor
I got my grill for $137 and I am using it for the first time today. I'm new to pellet grill use and so far I am extremely happy with the way it works!!!!
Just picked one of these up from Walmart on clearance for $137, excited to put it to use. Great info on the temperature inconsistencies and I will definitely be using an additional cooker temp unit.
I purchases the larger one the Atlas. Love it works great. The only problem I have is can't find extra warming rack for the top shelf. I contacted the Expert company but they never answered my request. Al in all it is a great entry level pellet grill. I did purchase a cover for it and it has kept it like new.
Just a comment on the point of the pork butt not getting smoke. Since the meat doesn’t typically take on smoke more than 2-3 hours anyway I usually set mine at the lowest setting which is (S) for smoke and let it run there for a few hours to get my smoke on the meat and then raise the temp to help finish the cook. I just plan extra time in the cook.
Mine is pretty good, and overall worth it for a first time pellet smoker like myself. I will say, I’ve had issues with the auger jamming up and me losing 150 degrees, then it suddenly catches back up after about an hour or so, and have even had it flame up once. I called the manufacturer and they were very helpful and have sent me new parts, as it has been under two years since I’ve had it.
Just picked one of these up for 99 bucks. Think for the price, I'll be happy. Brand new in the box, was on the pallet still on the top shelf wrapped in plastic.
I got a REALLY good deal ($107 season end clearance). at that price it's worth it I think. I've only used it a few times, but I think if I were paying anything over $200 I pick another brand.

I just bought mine for $139 ($150 after tax) yesterday but an thinking about returning it… could you tell me if it’s good for regular grilling like just burgers and steaks before I do so? Or is it mostly best for smoking?
@@Poteluz at my local Walmart. keep checking the prices they tend to drop it about every week until they sell out as with most clearance items. I just picked mine up today for $60 the manager said since they had about 30 of them already built and didn't want to store them for the winter so it was on sale for $217 but he said he just wanted to sell them and gave me more than half off and told me if I knew anyone that wanted one to send them his way. It was a hell of a deal I couldn't say no for the price.
Just got mine today end of season clearance display unit for $98. At that price how can you go wrong. Came complete and built. Slight scratches but no dings. Excited to smoke some meat!
I have had mine since it was introduced. In the first month the auger quit, I was sent a new auger and control panel for free. The temp has always been off, I have learned to adjust for it. I part I hate is cleaning the ash pot. You have to remove the grates, the greasy grease tray, the heat shed just to get to the ash pot. I use this grill year round. I have even used it in 30 degree weather on the pavilion in the snow watching it from the hot tub with no problems, just fix the cleaning issue and temp and I would call it a winner. But I hat cleaning it so much I am picking up a vertical pit boss. Sorry expert grill, maybe next time
@@TheBarbecueLab hey quick question so I just bought this without really doing many reviews… just to be sure you said it’s not practical for regular grilling correct? Like don’t load this up with burgers and hope for them to come out well? 😅 we don’t really smoke meats but grill burgers I guess I need to return it maybe…
@@k.h.6288 It's really a smoker first and foremost. That being said, it can grill burgers, but there's really only flames kicking up through the grates in one 4 inch spot in the middle of the grill where the pellet cup is located. So, flame grilled only happens across a small section of the entire grate. The rest of the burgers not over that part of the grate would be cooking indirectly, more like an oven unless you buy a set of grill grates like I used to test the grilled chicken thighs in this video.
@@TheBarbecueLab ok thank you so much for the fast and thorough reply.
