Hey Falcore, I have a theory and you might wanna hear it, now, what if, the Call of the Bells Sea of Thieves song wasn't talking about the past battle for golden sands? I've been analyzing it recently and the setting it sets up and the events of the fight in the song are drastically different than the events of the battle for golden sands, for example one of the verses says "danger is near, pirates are here" (edit: why would danger of pirates be relative to the battle of golden sands? We were the ones defending it, so I don't think this verse is relating to the danger of pirates being near to golden sands, it must be at a different setting, settings and perspctives seem to change a lot in this song), and a few other verses talk about pirates making it to land and fighting, but everyone on the sea of thieves is a pirate, whether reaper or not, this to me sets up the perspective of a non pirate force seeing pirates as a threat, and I think that plays into AShinyRay's theory about the grand maritime union with reapers and Athena coming together to fight them off in his video "Sea of Thieves' DIRTIEST Little Secret", like why wouldn't the song say "dange is near, reapers are here"? Or something similar. I also think that the perspective changes throughout the song, as at the end it seems to be from our perspective as pirates, stating that we made the sea of thieves our home and we will defend it. And one last thing that I noticed is about the bell's presence in the song, if ships are coming to attack their bells would not ring, the bells would be warning bells on an island, but last I checked, Golden sands didn't have any warning bells until it became a stone fortress, yes there was one in the tavern but that bell would not alert anyone of oncoming vessles, this is one instance where I feel like the perspective is from us pirates hearing the bells on stone fortress golden sands, with it being are final stand as the maritime union closes in, because the battle of golden sands was certainly not a final stand and it wouldn't make sense for it to be called that as reapers control such a small part of the sea of thieves, but then I will point out the fact that later in the song it talks of pirates making it to land weapons in hand ready to attack, golden sands currently hardly has any land, and this may be a stretch to interpret it this was but I don't think it's too far of one, but I think it points to a map wide battle against the grand maritime union, as in this case the perspective would be from the eys of the union, possibly as they have taken certain islands under control and pirates, us, reaper or not, are coming to fight them and reclaim said islands, which would then lead up to THE, FINAL STAND, ON GOLDEN SANDS!!!! As it is a power outpost that would de heavy damage if the union attacked it
Also the song was featured in sea of thieves' latest cosmetic video, and they can be tricky with what they try to hide here and there

Exactly! It was the little stuff, the little changes of the environment or characters that intrigued us. Building up theories and asking questions on what could this mean and what could be happening soon.
I sure hope some big lore is coming.
I really love this game, a lot, and i couldn't bring myself to keep playing it as much as last year with how stall the game feels overall, not only because of season delays, but the fact the lore is not going ANYWHERE.
Rare has pretty much abandoned the game. It's been like a year since we supposedly resurrected Flameheart and banished Pendragon and that has had zero progress...busy with Everwild.

Rare has said it’s looking for anything it can drop and cut out to make space for new content but it’s servers just can’t hold anything new at the moment. I don’t see this changing in the near future so it makes sense rare has all but abandoned the game.

I'm so bummed there won't be a massive orb stream. I loved that idea, the hype around getting the lore updates every few hours, along with LOTS of twitch drops, and a great way to showcase lots of smaller SOT streamers. I was literally looking forward to it all year. One of the best ideas rare ever had.
It was bad for it did bring the worse version of FOMO this game has.

My obsession was not healthy.
Last year i made a chrome extension to claim the drops and return to the main stream, got all the rewards while sleeping soundly
I just tuned in when I was awake rather than schedule around it.. Ended up missing the only 2 drops that I cared about, one by 5 minutes (had 95% or so on the timer when they stopped). So that was fun.

Just wondering... has anyone else experienced lag when going past the reaper's hideout? Only recently have i been spiking when I pass by it everytime from a certain direction. Some of my friends have also experienced this as well. Could this mean that they are finally giving the hideout some upgrades (Flameheart's Return)?

Really hoping its an expansion of the reapers, specifically the skelly curse. The skelly cosmetics have so much potential thats currently not being taken advantage of.

I appreciate when a company keeps certain elements close to the chest, it keeps an honest reputation with its following to many developers have over promised and under delivered. Glad to see Rare is really for its fans rather than the overall market.
the two headed skelly in the reapers lair that says how to war is going says that the reapers are winning at the moment so that along with the reapers more aggressive animation might be hinting towards the return of flameheart.
I think that is just them saying who is currently leading in terms of wins for the faction wars. His dialogue changes, same with the ghost with the war map in the Athenas fortune

The Orb's Master is Flameheart, Why else would his son be more aggressive or perhaps, more defensive at Reaper's Hideout, that in combination of the Orb appearing there means that Flameheart has finally come...or will come in 2024

ive just played a couple of hours of the skullnbones beta, and it seems alot of people are worried that ships will be lacking in firepower and such..but i doubt (and hope) that the beta shows everything there is, unless they really downscaled the game alot

Like the Circle at what was known as I-12. It started as a circle, which eventually lead to what we now know as reapers hideout. We definetly need this type of world change back. There are still ruins underwater at N-13 they could mess with.
I hope to see more reaper stuff. It's been too long

It's very obvious that the community is hungry for content. I'm really surprised that game companies are extremely slow to use their greatest resource... their fan base. Imagine if fans could submit content ideas and then have a place on their website that publishes all the ideas and players could vote. Highest votes and most comments means that creator gets a unique skin and the content is made and put out. Even better would be to use a shard of the safer seas server with a built in creator sandbox tool to allow players to use in game assets to create ideas and mockups. Posted again for player review and the highest get published and put out. No stress on the devs and its easy peasy. They get feedback and then produce content that players want and monetize that. One set is free (basic skin and access to the content: voyage, tall tale, whatever and you can buy a cosmetic that will allow you to play an extended version with an additional skin unlock). I know the server stability and security has been priority right now and thats good but eventually they are going to have to get back to making stuff for players to consume. Fan base support is a huge missed opportunity. Just look at GTA 5. The RP community and the custom mod servers are BIGGER than the actual regular rockstar servers. There is a reason Rockstar bought them out.

2024 Rare gives us decent servers to play on! Just kidding. They will make them even worse by adding even more grindy stuff. There should be a commendation for rubberbanding 500 times in one game session.
The code 52.72.72.11 shows up five times in this video: 1:35, 4:26, 4:32, 5:39, and 6:06. Still trying to figure it out.

As much as I have loved playing sea of thieves, and meeting some awesome people over the world.
I loved Black Flag and I honestly think Skull & Bones will destroy it.
They have worked on the game for a long time and I’ll be honest they have probably seen like all of us sea of thieves has gone stale.
It’s sad I know but I used to play it all the time but the updates are pretty much just updated old ones and the skins are ott and story well it’s not as interesting as it used to be.
I personally think when they introduced the reapers it killed it for me.
The last good update was pirates of the Caribbean.
But I want a more pirate experience and I know this will upset a few people but skull & bones is far more superior.
