“XXL” is currently my favorite MV this year - very rewatchable due to all of the little details, not to mention how good the song is. I only got into Young Posse after seeing Ben’s “I Went to Korea and directed a kpop video” popped up on my YT feed. Watched the video because it sounded like an interesting perspective/experience, but never expected to get into the artist (I’ve since been getting YP’s CDs & will be seeing them live at an Asian music festival in NY in May 👍). I’ve never been a big rap guy, although I liked the old school stuff back in the late 80s/early 90s, but want to dive into the Beniverse of MVs to see what that world is like 😉. Thanks Ben for putting out these perspective videos - opened up a new world for me 😁
This was so fun to watch. I really watch it all because it was interesting to see a director watching reactions to other people and not just in English.
Watching the reactions in other languages was honestly one of my favorite parts. It really proves that love and laughter is a universal language. I can’t understand some of the words, but I can see the smiles 😍

It's great you're having fun with this, and getting some recognition. I really wanted you to keep working with the girls, and I'm glad it happened. You're like the 6th member now, hahaha. I like when groups have a signature or style, and you're giving it to the group in terms of visuals. You GET the group. You really knocked it out of the park with this MV. Totally impressed, and it's rare for me to revisit MVs, I'm more of a performance/live stage guy, but the MV is extremely funny, with lots of details to find with multiple viewings.
I keep coming back to the music video over and over, it just keeps going in the most escalating direction with every transition, the plot that was going on made me wanna jump in the fun world and when the big cutout goes back to the big screen its so satisfying it makes me want to learn how to do it too, young posse can only go up but we'll never know how exactly until the next song, makes me so excited for feature releases from the girls and your other works. couldn't stop cheesin the whole first time i watched it!

I’ve been describing this MV to people as what would happen if you clockwork-oranged a person into watching Nickelodeon and other basic cable bumpers and ads from the 90s, which is to say it is aesthetic perfection. You did amazing work on this Ben, I hope this is just the beginning of your work in Kpop.

Ben, not sure if you're already doing this..but in all of your YP videos you whenever there's any jumpy scene you should have Doeun flinch and react and jump to every little thing..like she does in XXL..and also have Yeonjung basically do the opposite. ..like not flinch whatsoever. I saw this at the end of Ate That as well..when the PSP game was over. Sunhye crashes and yells and everyone jumps except Yeonjung.Just have the rest of the girls react with mild flinches..kinda normally. So Doeun big flinches, Yeonjung, NO flinches. I wonder if anyone would catch on to that concept if you did it. Almost seems like that's what you're doing now..not sure if that was intentional or not but that's what I see and it's really funny. Keep up the great creative concepts.
When i watched the teaser for XXL i knew immediately they brought you back and I was so excited! I knew i was in for the most creative and fun music video ever created haha! You mentioned in your previous video on filming macaroni cheese that visuals play a lot in kpop which is super true and you did an awesome job in showcasing the uniqueness of young posse and their music. Plus i love how you show the raw footage, it really shows how much work you and the rest of the creative team put into creating the music video

I watch a lot of Kpop MVs and really, most of them are fantastic. But, if you've been in kpop a while it's hard to find something that really stands out. This MV had me sit up, giggle, laugh and re-watch it several times! It feels new and fresh. I love it! When you need to go frame by frame in a MV to make sure you catch everything you are on to a winner. We'll done and looking forward to the next collaboration with YP!
