    Great video and great to see measurements like this. The XD material has been third party measured to be at about .85/.90 gain. Also, if you want an idea for a part 2, you should do an SPL measurement of the fan noise at different lazer settings. Measure both at the unit and at the MLP. that would be nice to see

    Nice review of your NZ900. How do your nits & lux measurements translate to lumens? I know that you'll be using anamorphic soon but how are the lens memories? Are they spot on?

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  5 дней назад +1

      I believe that calculation is LUX / 10.76 x screen square footage, which should put me right under 2,000. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. :) Lens movement seems fine. I have not set or recalled lens memories since I already had the madVR.

    Thank you for this interested video.
    I wish in your next video with new lens you show us how to install your lens step by step guide because there is no single video in RUclips showing how to do that specially zoom in and out with lens on
    Because I had issue with mine without lens I can easily fill the screen but with it on is hard
    Thank you so much.

    Hi Jeremy, great video. I purchased jvc nz7 last year and I’m pretty happy with it. I am considering a Panamorph lens in the future and I’m looking forward to your set up and hopefully review of the unit. I’m so jealous about your 900 lol.

      I probably could have done better with that. :) I did mention some of it. Screen is a 2.35:1 Seymour with Center Stage XD material. It's 163" diagonal (150" wide). Throw distance is like 18' and viewing distance is like 13'.

      @Techthusiasm  4 дня назад

    Two quick comments.
    The light coming out of NZ900 is not laser light as such. Laser is used as energy source to energize phosphorus wheel which emits the light that we see. At least that is my understanding. So looking into beam could be dangerous, not sure how dangerous if at all, but if it is, it would not be because of laser light. Could you let us know based on what you suspect you can get permanent damage from looking into beam of projector (and how for how long etc.)?
    And the other thing is about light meters from Amazon.
    I have a RS calibrated light meter and my friend has amazon CN knockoff. The RS was twice as expensive. In low nit values they measure comparably (so close to closed iris), but the more the light the bigger the difference up to 30% at iris fully open (only about 50-60 nits in that case).
    My RS meter was (factory) calibrated few years ago so it might be that it has drifted that much but I would imagine that it might be that both are in accurate enough at this stage to lead to 30% difference in higher output light measurement.
    Would be interesting if you could compare one of your pre-calibration high output modes vs calibrators gear to see how close your meter is.
    Thanks

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  4 дня назад

      The manual clearly says do not look into the lens for fear of serious bodily damage. I thought laser projector had extra precaution about this, but maybe it's just because it's just concentrated brightness.
      Interesting on the meters. We will see what Sammie measures with his pro gear.
