I had to look away and pretend I was dreaming when i first saw the news. When I say it hit me, I mean the first time there were onions nearby. 😔@@peggygibbons479
A legend is gone. Everyone on the planet knows a Jimmy Buffett song. Very sad when my mother informed me of him passing. My mother was a huge fan of him. She is a parrot-head for sure and I can sing along every word to Margaritaville. One of her favorite singer/songwriters. His songs just make me wish of a laid back simple life on a Carribean Island without a worry in the world. The kind of music that puts a smile on one's face. Thank you for your timeless music Jimmy. I can see Margaritaville still being played 100 years from now at some ocean side tiki bar and that is something amazing. Will be missed by so many but definitely never forgotten. Rest in peace Jimmy Buffett.
I love country music but can only name two songs by JB… one of which is this one and the other is his duet with Alan Jackson. I got a lot of my country influence from my late father, all I can assume is he didn’t know Jimmy Buffett or he was after Dad’s time… my Dad was born a decade before Jimmy. Maybe the fact that he wasn’t big in the UK was a factor too.
I'm in the UK and unfortunately I'm the only person I know who's ever heard of Jimmy Buffett, I've been trying to talk to multiple people about him and no-one has any idea about him or his songs! I always play at least 5 JB songs every day anyway, but since that awful day I've been listening to nothing but Jimmy!
In 1977 I was twenty-five years old, already a full-fledged parrothead. I attended a rally for Jimmy Carter. JB played a few tunes. I got my picture taken wedged in between Jimmy and Jimmy. It is and always will be one of my favorite memories, along with all of his concerts and the joyJimmy Buffett spread throughout the land!❤❤❤
I was on the Gulf Coast when Jimmy passed. Such a sad day. I've loved his music since being introduced to it in the 70's by a friend of mine who had been following him since the days he was doing shows on campus at the University of Southern Mississippi. That was long before Margaritaville, becoming world famous and a billionaire. Jimmy had quite a life...I'm sorry it had to end so soon.
Every time I try to pick up my guitar and play Cowboy in the Jungle I turn into a balling mess…and I never met the guy. It will pass and my sorrow will turn to joy because of everything Jimmy Buffett left this world!!!
Jimmy Buffett's music and style was a major influence on my life. Mother, mother ocean I have heard you call... Thank you JB for the navigational buoys you put in place for so many people to follow!!!
Watching Caroline Jones sing along with Zac was especially touching for me, knowing her history with Jimmy and Mailboat Records. She sang on stage with Jimmy SO many times and he did so much to advance her career.
Keith Urban follow suit at his concert at the Allentown Fairgrounds on 9/4, he did the same Jimmy Buffet song as Zac and his band did. Everyone was on their feet when Keith did his tribute in his encore, cause we all knew that what you do.
We live in Pensacola, but were staying at our Hilton on Pensacola Beach for labor day weekend. I was getting ready for the day, had news on. Couldn't believe it. Happened to have my "woman to blame" well-loved tee shirt with me. You better believe I represented. God bless you Jimmy. #Florida/Bamagulfcoast
I can't ever remember so many artists playing tributes to any one person than to Jimmy Buffet. A true testament to how impactful this fun loving man meant to so many ppl. I hope it brings some solace and peace to his family as to how much happiness JB brought to ppl and how well loved he was/is.
I feel a great warmth when I hear the live tributes to Jimmy Buffett. So many great people playing his songs live-which is what he would want. He was all about a live show. I love the great 8 but I also love the more obscure. Today I heard It's My Job live and it made me cry. (Thank you Mac McAnally).
What a cheerful life you have brought to so many of your audience around the world. I am at the very far end of the world,Kota Kinabalu, yet I am enjoying many of your songs…. love to sing Margaritaville and It’s 5’ O’clock Somewhere very much. You will always be remembered through your songs. Rest in peace Jimmy Buffett.
The main reason that I love Zac and Jimmy is that they do it their way and not the corporate music vomit that occurs with so many artists. Go with the angels Jimmy and we will see you at the next shrimp boil.
I saw my first Jimmy Buffett concert in San Diego in 1979. I saw him at his very last concert in San Diego in 2023. There were about 30 concerts in between. He was the best and I miss him
Gotta love a Gulf Coast Girl, I wonder if she played that? She had to. If you don't know, it was written by Jimmy for her. ruclips.net/video/FgQcX8LKcIU/видео.htmlsi=VyP8dGlqjZjMI8nk
Absolutely agree!! He and the band got the beat and the timing of that song perfect!! Even the live lyric customizations were as seamless as JB. Lifelong Buffett fan here who has every single lyric memorized, beer from the studio version or a live recording, and can also name you just about every buffet song within the first three seconds… And especially considering that Jimmy himself told Zac when they played CMT crossroads together that Jimmy was going to pass the torch on to him and his band. Would love to see Zack Brown cover a Jimmy Buffett song in every live show, and do a Buffett tribute album. So many ZBB songs have that same JB beat/vibe/style.
I heard Zac say somewhere (maybe it was in CMT crossroads or an article about that) that Zac grew up a JB fan & Parrothead, which influenced his own musical style and style of the musician/performer. And if you listen to the way, Zac sings “ wasting away again in Margaritaville,” and then play Jimmy himself doing it live, the way Zac sings that sounds almost the same (likely due to them having a similar southern drawl, and the fact that Zach was influenced by and grew up listening to JB). Knowing that Jimmy wanted to pass the torch on to ZBB/Zac is beyond heartwarming! Of course, Jimmy’s music will live on forever and ever as well!
God rest your soul Jimmy 😢 at least we still have your wonderful music and memories of those amazing shows. where we all just cut loose and acted like the goofy human beings that we are . Love you Jimmy!!
"Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic. But I had a good life all the way"
We miss you Jimmy
Hell yeah.
Jimmy's passing didn't fully hit me until I saw this tribute with the crowd singing along. Wonderful sendoff to the Mayor of Margaritaville! ❤🍸
I agree.
And even part of your stealie, except for the top ;-).
It really hit ME 3 seconds after I heard the news.
I had to look away and pretend I was dreaming when i first saw the news. When I say it hit me, I mean the first time there were onions nearby. 😔@@peggygibbons479

Thank you Zac, for your heartfelt tribute to Jimmy Buffett...a beautiful soul...Rest in Paradise.
Still can't believe that Jimmy Buffett is gone... My deepest regards to his family and friends. A legend never dies.

Grew up listening to his music with my dad. Now their both in paradise.
Wow! That brought me to tears, thank you Zac for honoring one of the greatest poets and troubadours of all time
Excellent tribute, Zac and crew! The best I've heard. Keep this on your concert playlists. Really gave me the chills to hear it. Thanks.
So sad he's passed but so joyful that he existed.
Is there any one else who's smiling more than Jimmy did in every photo?
The world just lost a little bit of joy. Rest easy Jimmy and thank you
Very Respectful rendition Zac Brown Band. Thank you.
Zac you did an awesome job covering Jimmy amazing RIP Jimmy

He party goes on....Jimmy is loving this....sail on!
Very nice Jimmy Buffet would be proud of this❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The crowd led Zac how it goes in between verses. He’s got a seasoned audience! What a blessing we’ve all had to have become Parrotheads.
Watching Caroline Jones sing along with Zac was especially touching for me, knowing her history with Jimmy and Mailboat Records. She sang on stage with Jimmy SO many times and he did so much to advance her career.
This was beautiful! Jimmy would be so proud!
Still hard to believe he's gone. 💔

Zac, carry it on!! Great job!! So nice to see all the great entertainers pay tribute to Jimmy!!
When I heard Jimmy Buffet died it crushed me. My first though was that if he could die then anyone can 😭😭
I feel a great warmth when I hear the live tributes to Jimmy Buffett. So many great people playing his songs live-which is what he would want. He was all about a live show.
