Seeing a general speed test(upload/download speeds) in the same location or varying locations would be extremely helpful in showing difference in connection between the two.

Some inventor could fill many needs for RV life by developing a motorized, telescoping antenna pole. Make it about 20 feet tall. Use the telescoping pole for a flag marking camp, or for different antennas for our devices. A lot of our needs use line of sight. Thank you for working hard on this video. It is always appreciated.
You're welcome. Yes. Just push a button. That pole is essentially a modified flag pole with some mounting hardware that I'm sure I'll be flying something on.

Nobody would pay for a motorized self rotating antenna. Rv life is great with auto tilting solar panel arrays too. But most simply wont or cant pay for such systems. Those of us that build and maintain have both.
I have combined a Yagi (directional exterior antenna) and an indoor panel antenna from an older home Wilson cell booster I had with a WeBoost 4GX. I constructed an antenna pole from two lengths of 1” PVC screwed together. (Stored in my rear bumper). I attached the pole with Velcro straps to two suction mounted bathroom grab bars mounted to the side of our motor home. Camping at the Okefenokee swamp in Georgia our T-Mobile phones showed no service, ATT we had one bar intermently. Using my booster setup we receive a decent T-Mobile signal, good for calls and email. The ATT signal became consistent and strong enough to stream videos. The indoor panel antenna provided boosted signal the full length of our 24’ Class C MH. Your videos are some of the best. Thanks
Thanks for your reviews. It's because of your weboost RV review that I purchased mine back in the fall/winter. We love it as it works great for our needs. You have a really clear way of explaining products. Thanks again! 🚐👍
Brian, you may already know this, if you can not get your NEW Yagi up high enough, you can connect your drive reach or other "candy bar" size antenna as the inside antenna to create the isolation needed for the booster to operate correctly. ( as long as the impedance 50 ohm or 75 ohm) I often must do this when the winds are high or some other condition limits getting the antenna up as high as it needs. Love your Video's !
Very informative, thank you! Calling we boost this is what they pointed me toward, however, seeing the pole set up, and I'm guessing having to store it, I'm second guessing this option. I realize it is the most powerful and gets up over obstructions but I feel like I won't want to set up every night. We don't usually stay any time place for multiple nights. We're usually on the move which is the point of having a truck camper in my opinion. Obviously this may be better served for larger RV's that are not potentially more static in one location for multiple nights.
Absolutely love your channel. Your reviews are fair, technical and you really do a great job explaining the pros and cons of each product. I also enjoy when install or build something .......you do it first class with great craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing. Just purchase this after watching your video. Paul
I've had a tremendous amount of luck using the "Satellite Connection" on my RV. I was able to easily install the equipment behind my TV and in the media cabinet above. Out of sight...and I didn't have to cut a hole in my RV.
Always enjoy your videos Brian. We have the WeBoost Trucker version (have had it for years), and like it ourselves. If you have a larger group in your RV, where the extra interior range matters, this might be a better choice. Typically, we need to connect with one device, and don't mind the candy bar antenna.
Hi Brian, how about doing a test between the the two booster! By switching out both set of antennas. Use the drive boost antennas on the destination RV and vice versa and see the results!
Very nice mounting brackets and pole. How about connecting it to the external "cable TV" jack outside? It would be nice to put the indoor patch antenna inside with the "Drive Reach". Excellent video as usual. I'm just waiting for the price to drop not increase.
Might have missed this answer but is there any reason you couldn’t connect the WeBoost to the satellite input on the exterior of the RV which runs to the entertainment center inside? I believe they are mostly R6 cable, I believe some TV jacks are still R59. I know you would loose the satellite input if you have one, but we are using our Apple TV box more and satellite less. Thank you!
You can also use mtn tops, to get signal. Ghosts can sometimes help. Swing it and look for the best signal. Small adjustments can be a big help. Drive up and get additional elevation if possible. Elevation helps a lot.
15 to 20ft separation is usually adequate. If you're using the pole to elevate the directional antenna then that will create quite a bit of separation also.
Firstly, I very much appreciate this video and the work you've put into the topic. Question for you with respect to the differing uplink power levels: The Drive Reach may have more power, but has an omnidirectional beam pattern of some sort, whereas the destination has lower power with a focused beam. Big flood light with short throw vs slightly smaller spotlight with long throw. Have you tested these with that in mind to see if you got different upload speeds and various distances from a tower?
I haven't done any systematic testing related to that, but I have tried both in several locations. Some times one just works better than the other. Testing these is very difficult because there are so many conditions that affect the signal you're getting. Either one will work great when you need it. Personally, unless you're stationary, I think the Drive Reach RV is a good all-around booster (see what I did there) with it's omni-directional antenna.
@@RVwithTito Yeah, getting a controlled environment where you can do a head to head test to a single tower sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Thanks for the reply!
I'm sure you've mentioned it before, but what app are you using for the signal strength? Can you add this to the "more" section? - Thanks! Great video!.
Curious how the coverage is outside the RV...We live in the country and have the WeBoost home system. I got a splitter from them, and installed an inside and an outside antenna. We now have excellent coverage over the entire area around our house.
Thanks for the info TiTo! Although when I go out on the road, for the most part I'm looking for a break from it all. Plus, like some of the others, at that price even with your 5% off (thanks btw) I'm going to hold out for starlink mobile or see what Amazon copycats from starlink.
Thanks for the very helpful video! If I'm understanding correctly, the weboost amplifies the cell signal inside your camper. I imagine that you're then using some sort of router or hotspot device to turn the amplified cell signal into a wifi signal for use with your computer (videos, email, web surfing. etc.). Would you mind sharing what device(s) you use/recommend for that purpose? Thanks!
That's correct. You'll need a hotspot device or smartphone to create a wifi hotspot inside the RV. Check with your carrier for compatible devices. Place it very close to the inside antenna for best results. I just use my smartphone as a hotspot for our Verizon service.
A booster (even a good one) isn't always the best solution. The best solution will vary at each location. It's best to try them all. For zoom meetings you need to focus on the solution with the highest data download/upload speeds. That might be a MIMO antenna, or it may be a booster. You won't know until you try both at each spot.
I read through some of the comments / questions and didn't see any Q&A on mobile hotspots. Will the WeBoost products boost the signal to a hotspot as it does to a phone?
@@RVwithTito i had planned to buy a army surplus pole used for remote base antennas. i saw them at the hamfest for 10 bucks but that has been a long time ago. this is faster to deploy. but is also more pretty
Good video as usual. For us dry campers with limited solar and limited lithium batteries the 12VDC dongle would be a yyuugge benefit so my inverter isn't running constantly. With this I'm holding out for a all-in one Drive reach/WIFI hot-spot I can run cell phones and a local WIFI from one box... I have a ZTE MAX Connect hot-spot but would only support a cell phone if connected via USB cable which is a bummer and never used. Any chance this would support a something like a combo? BTW- whenever I run cables from the top I route via the fridg. vent down where I have access to secure cables via the side access door, and typically around the floor behind drawers. I have phobias about drilling into roofs.
Did you get a better signal with the stationary setup over the drive reach? Also do you use a wifi booster to grab free wifi? If so which unit would u recommend?
I did do better than the Reach in this location. I'll do more testing in an area that is more on the fringe. Sometimes one is better than the other and sometimes not. Every location is different. No I don't use a WiFi Booster. We only use mobile internet.
Tito, thanks for a nice broad view of these products. Any take on "grounding" that pole? We camp a lot in parts of the desert that have frequent lightning strikes, so I'm wondering if you've heard/read anything on how dangerous the extendable poles are in an off grid RV situation.
Would you say that the directional antenna reaches out further for signal than the Omni directional? Where I camp at towers are pretty few and far between.
Great video!! Thks! Have you ever tried connecting the outside antenna into the satellite port on the RV? I have watched other videos which they do that. Thks again, also is it ok that the pole touches the ladder? Thks!!
Yup you can do that as long as your connections are good and you don't have any signal loss. I've done it. The fewer connections the better. Good luck.
Could you not switch to the omni-directional antenna during travels? I used an older model weboost with both of them at my old house. I had an omni first (due to different cell carriers) and the family switched later to 1 single carrier and I switched to a directional antenna.
Yes. You can as long as they don't interfere with each other. The higher amplification of this booster can cause problems with the interior antenna being picked up by the outer antenna if too low/close.
Is there a way to link a Winegard 360 to a Weboost to provide a wi-fi situation and better coverage inside a 30' travel trailer? Thanks for your well planned out video btw
Thanks for the review, great explanations! One question since you have the Destination and Reach models... Can you use the Destination inside antenna in place of the table top antenna that comes with the Reach to get better coverage inside the RV? Thanks Brian!
Hey Tito, I love all your videos!! I have a question for you, I know what you use to boost your phone signal from the videos, but what you do you use for internet while on the road? My family and I are getting a motorhome Class A and plan on being on the road and visiting different places since we haven't been able to before. I'm going to probably use my phone(We have T-Mobile) for GPS while we drive since that's what I use while driving in the city(or is this a bad idea?). Please let me know and thanks!!
Forgive me if I'm not very knowledgeable but I work for a company remotely that has me use a VPN to remote into my computer in office at times. I've found that this SIGNIFICANTLY slows me down than from when I'm just doing work without the VPN. Would you recommend this set up to increase speed in this scenario?
I liked your RUclips video on Destination RV Booster. I have used the network cell info lite app, just wonder which internet speed test app you are using? Also curious what type cell phone you use?
Funny this comes out at this moment. We are dry camping at BLM on the Colorado River. We are struggling with signal and thinking about a booster. This maybe be a little over kill for a van but still very interesting to watch. Thanks for the video.
Why not purchase the Yagi/Log Periodic directional antenna similar to this one for the Drive Reach? RG6/U is poor choice, freq design limit = 1-ghz, high attenuation, 17pf/ft. I do see someone spec it at -11.4 db atten/100ft @ 3000mgz, but can no believe it would out due a hi-end 9913 spiral dielectric coaxial transmission line which is hobbyist choice for shf band , , 💃🏼
Thanks for the great review! By the way, do you know how far away can you be from a 4G cell tower and still get a signal? Asking because I have a boondocking site in mind, but the nearest cell tower is 25 miles away from there. If I can get signal that far away, I would strongly consider buying one of these boosters...
I think that may be possible if there is good line if sight in that direction. I know I've hit towers 20 miles away before.. It's just hard to say until you try it.
I have a RV65 and it works good except when the campsite requires you to access a web page to kind of login. It is supposed to use the filter function but that does not work. Does this new device have an easy way of doing that
What would happen if someone negligently left this stationary booster on while driving lets say with an omni antenna? Would it not work due to not being set up to bounce tower to tower? Or is this a matter of legality?
Great Video! If I'm in a camp ground that the RVs are close to each other, Will people close by be able to use my device, if so will it slow my connections down? I don't want to pay $600 for this and then everyone sponge off of me, lol.
I just read an article about drive reach RV or drive x reach but thought I saved it? Can't find it. But he was hooked up to 12 volt..really plug and play..do you know what one it was? It wasn't a stationary one.thanks
Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help with my Weboost? It works great but as you know, you can't go more than a few feet from the interior antenna or it will stop working. We use our Weboost mainly at our cabin. Do you know if it is possible to set up either a router or a repeater type system with the Weboost in order to get more distance from the interior antenna? Thank much for any info you can share. Rich W.
Which weboost model do you have. The Destination RV booster has pretty good inside coverage, but the others made primarily for vehicles don't. I find it best to place a WiFi device very close to the inside antenna and broadcast WiFi around your RV/cabin.
@@RVwithTito Hi Tito, I bought the Weboost Drive Reach RV (470354). Ideally, I'd like to set up some type of signal repeater system to work off of the inside (Weboost) antenna so I can use it inside or outside the cabin without having moving the inside (Weboost) antenna. My thought is to place a repeater close to the (Weboost) inside antenna that then can take the broadcast signal from it and can then extend it further though out the cabin and possibly outside too. This might take more than one repeater? I haven't found any research on this so thought I'd try contacting a coupled of you here on RUclips to see if you have any info on this? Thanks Tito, hope you can assist!
@@sierranevada3789 I'm not sure what kind of repeater you're looking for since the Weboost amplifier is a repeater of sorts (with amplification). It's designed to amplify specific frequency bands used by the carriers. If you use a hotspot, I'd just suggest you put it close to the inside antenna. Then you'll have WiFi around your rig.
Generally you need a minimal signal, but it's possible for the booster to reach distant towers and get a signal where no signal existed. Here's a video showing some real-world before/after tests: ruclips.net/video/o4PWe2syHkA/видео.html
if your on a budget you can get a extendable paint stick and a long usb c cable (or whatever your phone uses ) ziptie your phone to the stick inside a ziplock bag tied to the usb c cable extend the pole bolts a piece of pcv to your rv or camper slap it in connect the usb c cable to your laptop or usb charger and turn on the cellphones hotspot function but usb thethering works faster
Yeah. If you're close enough to use MIMO then it works great. I actually tried firing up two boosters at once to see if the phone picked up both in a MIMO-like way....no difference :)
@@RVwithTito Actually you were pretty close with 2 boosters, just have outside antennas cross polarized and feed the amps straight into each antenna port of a hotspot/modem. Hope that helps.
I have extensive long term experience with weboost at home and with my rv. I live in rural agricultural part of florida where there is no internet so I have been on 4g for 6+ years. I did the chicken dance with patch antennas and yagi antennas and directional antennas and concluded that with cell carries randomly shutting down towers for service it was not my cup of tea. I use omni antennas on both my rv and at my house. No fuss, no setup and it just works. Granted I am using weboost trucker antennas so they are even stronger than their regular home/rv antennas. On my 3rv I have 3 omni antennas. 2 for 4g router modem and 1 for cell.
I totally get that. Our primary setup is the Reach RV, but we'll be heading into an area that's known for no coverage. So I'm looking forward to hoisting the flagpole and giving this a real test.
It is a slight upgrade to the Connect 65 and includes slightly more uplink power, better support for Sprint frequency bands, and slightly better antennas. Other than those, it's pretty similar. If you already have a Connect 65, I would just keep it. But if you're buying one for the first time, I'd go with the new and better one for the same price (Destination RV).
you could also use a hyper directional parabolic disc, and if you have a crane type on the roof, you have have it and a wind-solar receivers on top too
T-Mobile just updated their Terms and conditions to include the following: " Unless explicitly permitted by your Rate Plan or Data Plan, you are not permitted to use your Device or the Services in a way that we determine: Uses a repeater or signal booster other than one we provide to you;"

Tito, thanks for a nice broad view of these products. Any take on "grounding" that pole? We camp a lot in parts of the desert that have frequent lightning strikes, so I'm wondering if you've heard/read anything on how dangerous the extendable poles are in an off grid RV situation.
Sorry, I have no info an that, but it certainly seems like a concern. Probably a good idea to put it down when a lightning storm is coming.
No
Thanks for the review, great explanations! One question since you have the Destination and Reach models... Can you use the Destination inside antenna in place of the table top antenna that comes with the Reach to get better coverage inside the RV? Thanks Brian!
You could try, but it's really the combination of the antenna and amplification power (65dB) that gives it the range inside.
@@RVwithTito makes sense, thank you!
We don't use WiFi if that's what you're asking. We only use mobile internet through our Verizon mobile phone or hotspot device.
@@RVwithTito how much do you pay per month with this service?
@@RVwithTito thanks for the clarification Tito!!
Can you use the Omni directional antennae if you want?
Forgive me if I'm not very knowledgeable but I work for a company remotely that has me use a VPN to remote into my computer in office at times. I've found that this SIGNIFICANTLY slows me down than from when I'm just doing work without the VPN. Would you recommend this set up to increase speed in this scenario?
Can a directional antenna work as effectively for the Drive Reach versus the Omnidirectional provided?
Yes. You could hook one up to the Reach and get the benefits of a directional antenna.
I liked your RUclips video on Destination RV Booster. I have used the network cell info lite app, just wonder which internet speed test app you are using? Also curious what type cell phone you use?
Google Speed Test. Just go to Google and search for Speed Test. Just upgraded to a Galaxy S20 from my old S7.
Another fine video. good job.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just wondering after 10 months how you like the Weeboost Destination?
Worked great. I still alternate between the Reach and Destination RV. I don't always carry the pole.
Funny this comes out at this moment. We are dry camping at BLM on the Colorado River. We are struggling with signal and thinking about a booster. This maybe be a little over kill for a van but still very interesting to watch. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome. I'd go with the Drive Reach car booster for your van.
If you do not have a useable signal, how do you find the tower?
Good question. You'll have to just keep rotating until the signal improves.
Which one works best with a smart tv? For video streaming.
Either option will work adequately for that as long as there is a good signal to be had.
Nothing. Just don’t have the pole up.
I already have the Weboost directional antenna with the cable and a pole. Can I buy the rest of the kit separately somehow?
Great Video! If I'm in a camp ground that the RVs are close to each other, Will people close by be able to use my device, if so will it slow my connections down? I don't want to pay $600 for this and then everyone sponge off of me, lol.
You should be able to use this while driving if you use your Omni directional then from your old system.💪
True! That's an option if the cables are all secured.
Another good video !👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I just read an article about drive reach RV or drive x reach but thought I saved it? Can't find it. But he was hooked up to 12 volt..really plug and play..do you know what one it was? It wasn't a stationary one.thanks
They used to include the 12v direct wire kit with each RV package, but not anymore. You can buy it separately though.
Well done and explained.
Glad it was helpful. 👍
How about 5G compatible boosters, Tito?
Can the telescopic antenna pole be purchased separately?
Harbor Freight sells a telescoping flag pole very similar to this pole.
There are no 5G compatible boosters that I'm aware of. We will probably have mobile starlink before 5G reaches the boonies.
i have a truck and trailer. if i put the booster on the trailer would i be able to use it when i was driving the truck from inside the truck?
Probanly not. The inside antenna would have to be inside with you.
How about using a directional antenna with the Drive Reach as opposed to buying the Destination RV bundle?
I believe that is an option.
Yes you can swap out antennas with the Reach. You may just need some cable adapters. The connections are different.
What is the best option for Brian?
The Drive Reach RV works best for us. There are a few times when the directional antenna and pole could help. Not often enough though.
Wow you really explain things good
I appreciate that!
So which is better.. This system or the drive system?
Are you using this in areas that have no cell phone coverage at all ?
Yes. Of course 😃
great review
Thanks!
i assume this might work in a home... of course? i need something!!
Yes it would. Weboost also has home cell booster packages similar to this on their website.
I was interested until I saw the box with the pole. My RV is a 23-foot fifth wheel. There's nowhere to store that thing. Good review, though, thanks.
Your antenna mount to golds down. Where can I get one
Folds down
There should be a link in the description. It's a common marine mount.
Thank you Brian... Awesome review video!
Glad you liked it. 👍
Thanks! Great Info!
You're welcome.
Thanks, but I'll stick with my MIMO antenna. Too bad boosters don't use MIMO.
Do you have a video on how you permanently mounted your Drive Reach?
👍as always
How did it compare to the RV 65??
Pretty similar. One main difference is that it now supports Sprint frequency bands.
@@RVwithTito OK. Thanks for that info!
Cell Buster vs WiFi Calling option on your phone for making and receiving calls. What are your thoughts on that?
All of our WiFi comes through our mobile device anyway. So for us, VOIP is no different.
11:50 mins, NO link to the apps?!?!?!
You can use that system mobile if you change the external antenna for an omnidirectional one...
😏
Is it MIMO?
No. Just boosts one channel.
@@RVwithTito So what happens if two or more cell phones are used simultaneously?
@@aslPlayer Multiple devices can connect through the booster at once. No problem.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing your experience with those antenna setups.
Excellent review but, as others have commented, just not for me. Just seems like too much work getting it set up.
I totally get that. Our primary setup is the Reach RV, but we'll be heading into an area that's known for no coverage. So I'm looking forward to hoisting the flagpole and giving this a real test.
We use our internet for our roku TV watching
So do we! Love the Roku.
Weboost DESTINATION vs Weboost rv 65?
It is a slight upgrade to the Connect 65 and includes slightly more uplink power, better support for Sprint frequency bands, and slightly better antennas. Other than those, it's pretty similar. If you already have a Connect 65, I would just keep it. But if you're buying one for the first time, I'd go with the new and better one for the same price (Destination RV).
mimo boost steering, no moving parts, just many antennaes, auto-steer, vertical dipole array set
you could also use a hyper directional parabolic disc, and if you have a crane type on the roof, you have have it and a wind-solar receivers on top too
also you could use a helium tethered floating high base, have the antenna on that
watch out for shivers
Thanks for sharing. Like #899
Thank you! Cheers!
Buy the old Wilson boosters way more powerful
T-Mobile just updated their Terms and conditions to include the following: " Unless explicitly permitted by your Rate Plan or Data Plan, you are not permitted to use your Device or the Services in a way that we determine:
Uses a repeater or signal booster other than one we provide to you;"
That's interesting. I have a T-Mobile Hotspot that I haven't used in over a year.
Good information but a little bit 💵💵💵💸💸💸
Yeah. Not the bargain setup for sure.
If you’re boondocking, even with people nearby, who have WI-FI,Anyone,you still have to get their password.
I believe the WeBoost is for cell signal, not WiFi.
I hear that a cell phone booster is smoking mirrors
$649.00, are they out of their minds. We don’t need the news that bad and if you’re working from your RV, get a real life and real job. This is from the department of stupidity department.
What the market will bear, pal.
