The top wasn’t blown off. It collapsed. The collapse released a lake of lava from the summit. Difference is less violent.
Pretty sure it was being blown off since September ( a little bit at a time)....eventually the sides then get thin enough to collapse.
Just because someone says "blown off" that doesn't mean it has to happen all at once, or else its considered a collapse.
Close. Not so much as thin, but loose. It’s throwing the lava into the air like that, the lava “cools” and builds up on the sides of the cone. You can see this, especially at night, as the lava bombs roll down the side of the cone.
Even though some of them are the size of cars, the sides of the cone are not stable, and given enough of a push from inside the volcano, will fall apart, or “slump.” The push in this case was a buildup of lava inside the cone.
Some types of volcanos will blow their cones off, Mount St. Helens is a good one, or the island of St. Vincent more recently, and Vesuvius and the city of Pompeii, but this is less likely to happen with this style of eruption. (Not saying never, just less.)
The "top blown off" bit was pure click bait. As if any were needed.

I am on the island eight kilometers from the volcano and there's no reason to leave. It is just a local event. More than 90 percent of the island are not affected (besides the annoying ash).

That's what almost all new stations do. They think that if everyone is happy no one will tune in and they won't get any commercial revenue. Viewing the lava involves hearing the sounds too. I found the suspenseful music to be distracting and juvenile, as well as repetitive.

The government there should not be downplaying the situation. Praying for your safety
La Palma has been through this twice in the last 80 years. And the government isn't downplaying anything. The experts, the geologists and volcanologists, are not raising the alarms because there is no need for it. This isn't abnormal for this volcano. There is a lot of misinformation on RUclips that is clickbait to try to scare people. Don't fall for it.

This is a volcanic island, they have dealt w/ eruptions before and will again. Nobody has been killed, they are doing an excellent job. If anyone wants to leave the island, they can. People who chose to live there know of the threat the same as people in Hawaii do, or people anywhere near an active volcano. You live near an active volcano you take a risk.

Nothing was "blown off". The cone just collapsed like it does every two days when too much material has been stacked up. I was watching it three kilometers away when it happened. It's just a completely normal outbreak like it happens every few decades when the pressure in the magma chamber that's located on top of the plume gets too high.

I don't remember the music , but you will recall that a running commentary was played in various languages for information to those on board. I visited the Visitors Centre further into the lava field in my hire car and was fully instructed on the 6 year duration of the volcanic event there. The 6 years duration was documented by the Catholic Priest based just south of the lava field in the town of Yaiza. It was reported that the King of Spain decreed that sea captains were ordered not to evacuate islanders to mainland Spain as many had become "lunatic" due to exposure to the constant noise.

For goodness sake, the cone was not blown of.... a portion of it subsided and was subsumed by the lava flow. If the top of the cone had been truly "blown off" that would have been a catastrophic event that would have devastated the surrounding towns and spread ash and fragments over half the island.....

I don't think so. Krakatoa is form due to subduction zone near it while this volcano form due to hotspot. They have different types of lava.

Many Christians will fail in God because they've seeked a book over the true meaning of Christianity which is a one on one relationship with God. No books no buildings just you and God.
