Yet another made up place. Drawing template available over at patreon.com/garyfrederickart. Prints of this painting available etsy.com/ca/shop/GaryDFrederick.
You could have had a crooked man walking up the crooked path to a waiting crooked cat at the crooked house, just like in the poem. All joking aside, really beautiful job. The crooked shed at the back was very clever.
Your painting and commentary is an inspiration to many. Keep the painting flowing. It has inspired me to paint and I'm enjoying your techniques. Thank you so much. From down under.
I just love everything about this painting... The guttering and downspouts are wonderful and I really like the steps coming all the way forward... so cool! I have printed the drawing on a printable graphite sheet... I will be tracing this one for sure! I find your colors fascinating especially the moody sky... still working that out on swatches 😅 Again, having so much fun following along... I am 2 behind actually and thats just fine as I like to paint more than 1 at a time... changing up the size and or colors Thanks again!
I have been watercolour painting for years on and off, without a lot of success, but I have learned so much from this video in terms of lifting colour, and letting the colours “play” together. I am going to give this one a try. Thank you so much, from a Patron who is absolutely getting their money’s worth!
Love it. I’m impressed by how steady and deliberate your brush strokes and inking are. Planning on trying some of your paintings on Patreon. I’m also wondering if you ever work from a reference photo of a real house, and adding some quirkiness to it while still making it recognizable. Would love to try this using my own house as inspiration. Thanks for posting these videos!
Thanks so much for your support. I do get some ideas for houses from pictures and walking around the neighbourhood. I'm actually planning a video for patreon where I take a "lame" house and make it a little wonky.
Hi Gary, Great as always. Its such a pleasure to watch videos which are simple and genuine. Keep up the good work. Do you have a patreon page? Also, where can I get one of those pallets?
Hi Emma. I use a Lamy Safari fountain pen for most of my line work. XF nib. DeAtramentis document ink. I occasionally use baohong paper and it works fine.
Hello Again! I can just blame myself for not getting the right information about the pen. I ordered one and it came today. First when I trying it I realised that the inc is not waterproof! I called the shop and they told me that they not recommend fountain pens when it comes to watercolours. Because of the hard work to clean them and that you need a converter to fill in the waterproof inc, there’s no patrons. So a little disappointed of course, because I now have a useless (expensive) pen. So I can’t really understand how you use your pen? With a converter?
@@emmaengstrom4969Sorry you are having trouble. If you ordered a Lamy Safari you shouldn't have any problems (I have 3 of them). You have to use a waterproof ink that works with fountain pens. I use DeAtramentis Document ink and archive ink. Both work fine with watercolour. I fill the converter from the bottle...no clogging, no bleed no run...paint right over it as you can see in all the videos. There are other choices of waterproof ink. Goulet Pen Company has many inks. Hope this helps.

Wonderful work, as always. Forgive me if I missed it but, what is the make and model of the yellow pen?
thank you. Lamy Safari fountain pen. XF nib. DeAtramentis document ink.
@@garyfrederick8419 Thank you very much, Sir! 😎
your work is just wonderful. do you live in Toronto? I grew up in Buffalo.
thanks so much. I'm in Ottawa.
Gary, have you any tutorial books out on line and wash?
No books. I'm not a teacher...I just share my process. I do have patreon.com/garyfrederickart where I have longer videos.
What pen are you using for the lines? I myself have used Micron pen but am not satisfied with how they turn out on my paper (baohong). 😊

@@garyfrederick8419 thanks for your help 😃 but I sold my pen to my daughter and by another one to myself!
