- We have both bought new bikes! We have an Africa twin CRF 1100 EACH! Join us to collect the New Africa twin CRF 1100 from Honda Thunder road Wales. This is Ewas First impression of the new bike as she rides her new motorcycle home from collecting it in Wales. We stop off for the most random lunch stop at the Leather and Lace Bar and grill in Somerset - This is a place you HAVE to see!
Help us Name the Twins! Let us know your suggestions in the comments!
I was at Thunder Road on the weekend, considering the Africa Twin, great video guys congrats on the new bike enjoy
Thanks, thanks for joining us! what have you got currently?
Just got a KTM Duke 125 at the mo, taking my MOD 2 this Saturday so fingers crossed I can get one without stabilisers soon.
@@bigearsboy good luck bud 👍
@@ontheroadadventure thank you 😊
its all in the mind, if you decide you are doing it and will pass, you will. Let us know how you get on
2020 L Manual in my garage and loving it. Sits like a brick, great for two up and touring...and not bad off road even on sketchy tyres. I was on an NC750X Manual prior and it's similar in the way you can lugg it around low in the rev range all day, loads of torque and good fuel efficiency.
Couldn't agree more! We are regularly doing massive tours on the twins now and they have been amazing!
Love watching these pair , such a genuine couple and only speak the truth about the bikes they ride . Keep up the good work and ride safe.
Thanks so much, We promise to keep it real here, you'll get the good bad and ugly!
awesome, just pop in and buy a new bike, I got a crf1100 too, its an adventure, dct. love it to bits. stupid range, 25 litre tank.
Head wind and pissing rain, it just pushes thru.
We have been using our twins for a while now doing big miles across Europe and they are proving to be great machines 👍
Congratulations on the new Twin. I love seeing multiple Twins riding around. 🎉
Thanks - So far we are loving them! We will be putting them to the test with some big miles going on them
Awesome! I've put over 24k miles on my 2021 ATAS. I enjoy moto camping (I think you guys call it wild camping over there) on the bike a lot. 😉Cheers, ride safe.@@ontheroadadventure

Love the new bikes and congrats! I'm terrible at names, but maybe Thing 1 and Thing 2? It's an Orlando Universal Studios thing. Told you I'm terrible at names! LOL!
Thanks mate, il have to look that up only thing we know of is from Adam’s family. Films are not my strong point it seems
that's cool, congrats for your new motorcycle
Thanks! We are loving the New Africa Twins! Let us know what you ride and where....
I recently got an 2020 AT DCT L model, i suffer from just all the oposites, im tall 6'4'' or 195cm, so im in search for the tall seat, already firmed up the suspension and got the tall windscreen, also here is summer temperaures all year long. Glad to see a couple enjoing the same bike i got, cheers.

Nice bike . Huge !
Yes they are big bikes but we manage them ok and I’ve only a 30 inch leg!

Arnie & danny ( stars of the film TWINS)
I haven’t seen that film, will have to go and investigate now!
I like your twins! 😂 how does the standard seat feels on a longer ride?
So far so good although I have needed to replace the screen. We will do a video soon showing the mods we have made to these bikes to better suit our needs for travelling
congrats on the purchase ! how's the twin at highway speeds ? any vibrations?
The Africa twin is great on the motorway very smooth 75mph at 4k revs just idling along. You’ll see in the upcoming videos next week, we have just done some ridiculous miles crossing countries on ours 👍
you guys both ride the manual transmission?
@@cdnrider6200 yes both crf1100 L Manual
when will we see eva,s review of her bike?@@ontheroadadventure
@@cdnrider6200 will get on it very soon, we have been keeping the twins busy and putting Huge miles on, you’ll see what we been up to on them very soon!
Great video.
Im in the process of selling my GSA. Had too many nigles for my liking, especially with the ESA. Fixed under warranty but took over 7 weeks to sort.
Im wanting a work horse, but still something i can have a little blast on.
I've narrowed the replacement donw to
1090 Adventure
Honda Africa Twin 1100(base).
Ok so thats easy, if you want outright fun but zero reliability get the KTM, if you want a little more sensible power and comfort and Honda Reliability you know what to do. I bought the KTM 890 adventure before this bike.... This is how this one went.... 10 days it lasted... Shocking After the Ktm Video watch the next one il comment below, it talks about all the comparisons of similar bikes and how i came to the honda decision. Which i do not regret... ruclips.net/video/VHNRfcx8Ofo/видео.htmlsi=xKpVF-Ey-_jx6MpD
Hope this helps

@ontheroadadventure My thoughts on the 1090 was it being a 'basic' bike. No electronics to go wrong. I've heard reliability is good with those due to ot being the LC8 engine and it having a basic spec. Abs, traction control, and that's it.
I'm not too sure what I want in that type of bike. Hear me out..
I passed in June 2023. I've gone through 6 bikes since then. I just can't find something I like..
In the adventure/touring bikes, I've had
1050XT - Boring but reliable.
900XR - Was nice, but ESA was awful and felt every bump.
Tiger 660, had to rev it to get anywhere. Didn't like it that much on the motorway and lacked cruise control.
R1200GSA 2019, too old for me at 27, not the most reliable. Loved the creature comforts. At 267kg, it was way too unnecessary for solo riding.
My budget is around 22k. That's for 2 bikes.
Motorway/winter/tourer.
Out n out weekend summer toy.
Here's some thoughts.
Africa Twin 1100 base.
Add a quickershifter, better screen.
If cones with cruise control already so that's great. There is less to go wrong as it's not the electronic suspension. And a lot less weight over the adventure sports.
Weekend toy,
1290R?
S1000R
765RS
I did look at the Norden 901 but again, I heard too many issues in regards to the 890 adventure, which is why that was quickly voided, being the same bike underneath.
So that's where I'm at lol.
Sorry for the rather long reply.
@@inked-96 Im gunna throw a spanner in the works… I reckon you don’t need two bikes… I reckon you should try one of these… Yamaha Tracer 900 GT plus Review | Has it been Fixed?
ruclips.net/video/0mPqNYNSgN4/видео.html
@ontheroadadventure it's got to be 2 bikes. I've worked my are off to.afford 2 lol.
I was contemplating the older Tracer 900 GT, still has cruise control, around 6.5-7k. Still reliable and fun, can still tour, can still get me up to Manchester(300 mile round trip) once a week to see my fiancé. As I don't ride off road, would I be stupid in buying another adventure bike for only road riding?
Just seems to always happen. I buy a New Bike, and it rains. I leave on a trip, It rains, I'm heading home, It rains. ( during the summer )( it rains 50% of every day) so, you get used to it.
Always rains in wales 😂
@@ontheroadadventure I though, you guys live down in Exeter
@@dcijams yeah we are in Devon
I live in BFE and even ST Louis does'nt have have a shop like that ,Eurpe is awesome!
We have bike shops like this all over, I understand you’re not allowed to test ride bikes too?
that's right@@ontheroadadventure
So you have to commit to buying before youve ridden one? I guess that makes finding genuine rider reviews in your country harder too?@@MrBob714
Not really I live in the usa@@ontheroadadventure
@@MrBob714 Do you have the Chinese brands like Benelli and voge over there yet? If so are they popular and proving reliable?
How about tom & Jerry 😅 for your twin bikes ?
Ewa is liking that one but how do we decide which is which?!
@@ontheroadadventure Jerry's the lead biker & Tom's at the back because he never seems to cach the little blighter
lol That would make Ewas bike Tom as she is always chasing me!
Stupid question, why do you not have saddle Bags?
I was going to fit the hard cases Ewa has just before this trip but it didn’t fit as it should so made do with the bag on The pilot seat. I think we are both going to stick to soft luggage after Ewa’s got damaged so easily in Spain at the start of the trip
Twins names ( great film) ,Dani & Arnold

His and Hers.
Absolutely! We love them
Thunderroad Road is my local Homda dealer. And thanks to them I'll NEVER buy another Honda unless I move house 😢
You had a problem there?
@ontheroadadventure yes and it was a brand new bike. Give after six months and got myself a new triumph tiger they had absolutely no interest once they sold the bike. Had better service from none main dealers in the past
@@richardgiles2484 what was the problem you had? Which bike was it?
@ontheroadadventure vibration problems and corosion to the engine guard. They just kept fobbing me off. With hindsight, I should have gone legal but just had enough. Never had any problems with triumph, and they are always helpful 👍
