Oh good! I bought oxbow pellets, I'm a new guinea pig owner picking up my first 2 adult bonded girls this Sunday!!! And then I have 2 more coming in 3 weeks (6 weeks old baby girls) so I can have a herd of 4 girls. And I am so excited. I'm a brand new piggy mum and I have a C&C cage with fleece ready to rumble. Glad I found your channel!
I give both of my rabbits mini pine cones, plain undyed pumice stones, small twigs, and sticks on a string (basically just a wire or a string with twigs and little wood chips attached) they love them. They also love the Timothy hay and flower pellet treats. And last but not least salt licks. They are OBSESSED with these toys. And pumice really isn’t bad if you know what to look for. I know that I have bunnies, and you have guinea pigs but the toys are pretty similar. And if you don’t want to give these toys to you pigs, then you can also give them to Chester. I’m sure that he would love them. Love ya girl. ❤❤❤❤

I love the Choco nose water bottle too. Don't forget to take it ALL apart to clean it. There are lots of little pieces inside that get forgotten about.
So glad there are RUclipsrs calling out how awful some of these supposed Guinea pig cages are! If you are going to get Guinea pigs, then you need to have it big larger than anything store bought. It’s cheaper to build your own! And gpigs need fresh fruit and veggies, they can’t live off pellets!
For me I have to have a top over my cage, my dog and cats don’t do well with him. But he does get a lot of out of cage time because of how small it is. I also have to have it small so it’s up in my shelf(it’s a big shelf for a shelf) so again my cat doesn’t jump up and get him
Thank you for this. And unfortunately I learned about their respiratory fragileness the hard and sad way working at a pet store. When I was cleaning a pair of Guinea pigs disgustingly small tank I didn’t dry their tank enough. And the store I work at uses this stuff called rescue as a disenfectant. Well, because I didn’t dry it enough, this stuff ended up soaking into the beading and asphyxiated them. One of them passed due to my negligence and I have never been more sad. So tomorrow I’m getting a home and all the stuff to adopt the one that lived and give him the best life I can. And he looks like a little chewbaka. So that’ll be his name. And as to why it wasn’t dry enough. Well at the store we have a time restriction on how long we can take and I’m not sure why. And I generally take way too long. So I was rushing more near the end so my managers would leave me alone finally, and I also forgot to replace the towel after having used it to dry a few tanks so I messed up there too. Tho today I made sure to not rush myself and made sure he and all the other animals were better taken care of. So thank you for this video. Unfortunately for now I will have to go with Oxford hay but as soon as I can I will definitely get something better.

Those two Oxbow foods are the exact ones I’m feeding my piggies now! Omg Kaytee is awful 😣 Those hay balls are so dangerous. My boyfriend’s kids mom got one for their piggy and I gave them one of my hay racks so they’d stop using that one. Ugh, so bad! 🤯 My piggies love the vitamin C tablets and they eat Peppers and Parsley for vitamin C 😊 And fleece bedding/reusable all the way for us! 😊 As for water bottles, omg I love the Midwest Critterville water bottles! They almost never give trouble and they’re super easy to clean!

And my bunny also has full cheeks, small pet steel hay ball it never harmed him but if you don’t feel comfortable, then you just put Duck tape round it and if you feel like you are guinea pig would eat the tape then you put a bunch of hay around it

@@hamhamuniverse It’s actually a great source of fiber for them and just like with Guinea pigs it helps with their teeth. I give my hammy hay and have no issues it also helps with structure of her burrows.
I have a guinea pig cage that was supposed to be 2 connected cages but everytime we connected them one of my piggies would get unhappy because he’s territorial so safely we have to have him separated from the other pig :( so those two out of the six safely have small cages.

Have you thought about getting a crested gecko? They're super low maintenance and really fun to have (also powdered diet with bugs occasionally but not required). That was my second reptile I got after my bearded dragon. It worked out because when my beardie was a baby I got a 20 gallon long tank then when he needed to be upgraded I flipped the 20 on its side and that became my cresteds enclosure. If not a crested gecko if you were to get another reptile what would you get? Are you into snakes?

Hey girl I have an important question about the KAYTEE brand and I'm praying you see this and can answer!! I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in British Columbia Canada and we can't find the Oxbow Vitamin C tablets or any of their supplements, anywhere.... like no pet store anywhere near me has had them in stock for months.... when I went to Petsmart last week to pick up some supplies (I have 7 guinea pigs and 2 Syrian hamsters) I was expressing to the employees my fear and frustration about my fur babies health.... they suggested I use the KAYTEE "Super C Bites".... at first my pigs didn't like them, now they come screaming everytime I pull them out 😂 it says the first ingredient is fortified Timothy hay and the ingredient list is very simple.... I'm just wondering what your opinion would be? I too am not a fan of the Kaytee brand, but I didn't know what to do because I can't find Oxbow anywhere.... please tell me your thoughts lol

A good idea for water bottles is also Lixit water bottles. They work so well and never leak.

Oxbow hay and pellets are great for guinea pigs. Oxbow pellets are bad for hamsters because their main ingredient is hay, and hamsters don't need hay.

Personally I use recycled cardboard boxes for my piggies houses as it is a cheap alternative and will not harm your piggies if they eat it
