Building avant-garde structures in urban areas is enormously expensive. Similar concepts can be erected in struggling Canadian rural communities

Charging students extortionate fees to build it?

@@HolowatyVlogs there's no reason places like this should be able to afford world class architects, just saying it how it is.

Student fees don’t pay for construction. Not enough. Donors and other income pay for improvements.

Maybe someday we'll evolve to cooling a building like this without a snake's nest of air conditioning cluttering up the roofs.

as alumni of Ocad... I'm sure its a architecturally innovative. but the price tag was being paid on the back of students. Because of the design vs the space and cost. it could have been done cheaper...and the resources for the school have been use better for the students.

Yes, but the quality of this building will attract more talented students and not unemployable losers like you that are a total waste of everyone's time and effort.
The reason you cannot understand why an investment in a world-class building is probably why you cannot comprehend offering work of any quality either. Anyone can create cheap unimaginative sht as you show with your work.
Oh, I'm wasting my time, you'll never get it.

OCAD alumni here. "It has put the University on the map". Not true at all. If you told a lot of Torontonians that you went to OCAD, they would have no idea where OCAD is.

I'm more interested in the concrete core that was built on top of the main building, was it reinforced inside the main building or just stack over it?
