You fail to acknowledge that the DA was under extreme scrutiny at the time and ultimately was ousted from office for the very reasons the judge was angry about.
Even Judges are human. We all make mistakes and granting grace is the greatest form of humanity. I for one hope that she took this as a learning opportunity to be a better Judge.
@@MatthewHarrisLawPLLC But not all humans are fit to be judges though~ Those were her usual behaviors I'm sure, only got exposed because they're broadcasted online during the lockdown! *She deserves no mercy nor second chance!!*
She’s speaking the vernacular and yes, though a bit dramatic at times, most times the drama was 100% warranted! She does so much for her community - I think the criticism of the DA is what led to this.
so for #1 I had no context to go by, was she a bit heated and over the top maybe but we don't know what was going on, would like to see both sides, for #2 the small bit of context we DID get makes me not upset by her being so upset because Judge or not she is human, from what little context that was shown (cause this video only showed her reactions and not the full interaction, people would be furious for example if the police department edited bodycam footage to only show one side, say what the officer said but not what the civillian said or did...) it seems that police were doing a death investigation where they held a body, then BEFORE a person was charged with murder they released the body to family, the family cremated it and had funeral. THEN the DA charged murder, then it seems like the defence is possibly arguing the corner's ruling on cause of death or something in the findings but cannot get an independant autopsy now that it's been cremated. from what the Judge said it sounds like the DA is saying, to paraphrase "they should have thought of that before cremating" and the Judge is angry because the family couldn't have known of the need for a second autopsy because the DA delayed pressing charges.... the Judge stated that the DA has been playing those kind of games for awhile and on big cases such as murder and SA of a child..... was a Judge meant to go off, probably not but it is disgusing for a DA to say "oh they should have thought of that before cremation" when they had no clue about any need for it/future charges so I don't blame the Judge for her passion in this circumstance. Now for #3, Judge was definately in the wrong, her basically saying it was karma for his groin problems after what he had been doing to people with his groin (we have to guess here because only one side shown but we can likely imagine) was her inner thoughts come out. She shouldn't have said it outloud, just kept it to herself because she was the Judge. (I will admit however if he did do something, let's say "bad" with his groin we all know that horrifically those people get a slap on the wrist or get away with it most of the time but, again, with not seeing the other side of that case or court/conviction records I can't say one way or the other in this specific case but she definately shouldn't have said anything like that as a Judge). Setting aside #3, for #1 and #2 it is a bit frustrating for a sitting panel of 3 judges to rule on this when they don't have to deal with the current day to day state of what is going on in her courtroom.... again though for #1 no context and #3 she was wrong, I gotta say for #2 she was actually standing up for defendants in this case calling out the DA for shady practices in serious cases.... people probably wont like me for this but that's okay
I hope that they would be open to such an investigation. If they have nothing to hide, then I'm sure there's nothing to fear. However, if this Judge has actually seen repeated behavior, then I want to know why she didn't initiate an inquiry sooner. That missing link causes me to question whether or not there had been prior repeated behavior.
this is the reason judges abuse the restrictions on cameras in the courtroom ,judicial misconduct is rampant and they dont want you to see it , the slap on the wrist this nutjob got for her behavior makes it clear the system is broken ,she should have been removed from the bench and investigated for criminal activity
I watched a lot of Judge Rangel as it occurred, While I at first enjoyed her "straight" talk, it became clear that she was increasingly playing to the camera and gradually went full "Judge Judy". It's a shame.
I thought this was a courtroom comedy spoof of some kind. But, this is a real, sitting judge! I am shocked and dismayed by her shameful, undignified, crude words and unprofessional conduct. This woman needs to be removed from the bench.
I wouldn't classify her as a monster. Remember, we rarely know what other people are going through behind the scenes. "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always." - Robin Williams Regardless, I think we can all agree that the Judge's actions were not appropriate.
I hate the way this video portrays the system. This is rare. A Judge that actually stands up for the rights of citizens and takes it to a DA office is a GOOD Judge. Most District Attorney’s are monsters only trying to get a conviction and will break any code of conduct (and sometimes law to do so). She is calling them out and is sick of it…unfortunately when you see all of the corruption it makes you go slightly crazy as you see with…this Judge 😂. Now she thinks it’s normal to have a reality show. But do not blame her, blame the corrupt system.
I think it was even worse than "bias and prejudice". I think it was about taking actions/positions that would generate the best sensationalized video clip. At least that is what Judge Judy's cases appeared to be about... at least the few I seen.
You know, I'd completely forgotten just how crazy Judge Rangel is!! I used to watch her hearings with my jaw on the floor! Im English and we dont get to see any court stuff, but if we did, im pretty sure we wouldnt see our judges hopping about, squawking! Their wigs would go flying.......
She turned her courtroom into some kind of an audition. I cringe just watching her. I did like seeing her call out the D.A., but I have no idea how that actually should have been done. She probably did it wrong.
In order to get a Judge to recuse, you should file a Motion and lay out your argument. If the Judge raised/brought up your daughter's ex father in law, that wouldn't necessarily mandate recusal. However, if the ex father in law was a central part of the case or a witness, then that could have caused the appearance of bias.
Oof. I should have checked the volume of my headphones before clicking that timestamp. 😆 Did you notice that the Court of Review classified her voice as "sometimes shrill." Ouch.

As a matter of fact, yes. If the Judge demonstrates bias or prejudice, then that can lead to a new trial. Remember, Due Process requires a neutral decision maker, so when you're deprived of neutrality, then you're deprived of Due Process. Can you imagine how much that would cost the taxpayers?
