The Science of Animal Care - The High Canopy

How do you create exceptional habitats for wildlife? Using the best in science and habitat design, experts from Aotearoa and around the world have been brought together to create our South East Asia Jungle Track.
The first episode in our 4-part series; we follow the design, construction and opening of the High Canopy habitat - a complex and enriching new home for orangutans and siamang that caters for their natural arboreal behaviours.
Guiding us through this episode are various experts from Auckland Zoo who, along with our skilled design and construction partners, make the dynamic vision of our #FutureZoo a reality.

What a fantastic achievement from the Zoo team. I had heard about this enclosure but have not previously seen a video of it. Thank you for sharing it. I really hope that one day i will be able to visit.

What you have done at Auckland Zoo is changing the way people look at a "Zoo". I think you should change the name from Auckland Zoo to Auckland Conservative Care Center or Collective, or something like that so people can understand what you Really do!!! You're not there to show animals, your there to protect, research, and teach. So many congratulations on all you've accomplished!!!🙏🙏🙏🦧❤️🦧
