@@DanGeezyPresents I think Em deffo is right when he says if his dad was around.. Maybe half the shit wouldn't have happened. Dad's help their sons structure their lives and help craft u know. When that piece is missing... It can be a very destructive
I grew up the inverse of Em, and allot of people. I had my Mom essentially get hooked on drugs, and leave me behind. My Dad was the one who single handedly raised me through all the times we were barely getting by. I remember having to ask friends for cash just so my dad and I could get enough money to eat for a day or two. I remember sleeping under a desk in a hotel my dad was working at for a month because we had no place to go. I remember all the heartache due to the absence of a second parent, and one day I saw my Mom tag me on Facebook saying how proud she was I ended up getting my GED, and starting College on Federal Grants, after having dropped out of school two years prior to work, and to keep a roof over my head. That was probably the most anger I had ever felt towards another person. That's why this song hits so hard to me: when you walk though all that hell, when someone was supposed to be helping you through it every step of the way, only for them to selfishly abandon you, and act like they had anything to do with you making it. . . that hurts. It feels like being robbed.
He's referencing a Macklemore line about "keeping his room nice and neat", but also saying dont compare me to him just cause we're both white, we didnt have the same life at all
The Macklemore line is also a reference to that song he did with Mary Lambert "when I was young, I thought that I was gay, cause my uncle was and I kept my room straight" not sure if it's exactly it but it's something along those lines
The song has the typical Em x Skylar feel. I love it. He went very personal with it. I love the half-time groove that's really complimenting his flows whenever he switches it up. Super powerful. Easily up there in top three with "Godzilla" and "Those Kinda Nights".
It's to his critics and people that say why he can't he do music like him. He likes him as an artist but hates when people compare him to him because they both had different up bringings.
this one defiantly has a lot of emotion, you hear it in his voice he sounds like he did in the way I am I love it, i think its because it really the first thing he has had happened family wise in a while, back in the day kim and his mom and uncle ronnie all kinda happened at the same time since it's just the masses and media and he really doesnt give a shit about that i dont feel
It was such a short part, but on Arose when Em says "you taught me what NOT to do." I swear you can Feel the Look on his face Em's crew have been the same ppl for Decades, he's a wonderful father and brother, just a very loving and loyal man. BUT if you Betray him...
Revival is my FAVORITE album and those two songs are SO powerful! Im designing a tattoo from the line in arose at the beginning where he says "if I could rewind time like a tape". Its gonna be really simple and small but so far I want it to be a cassette tape with the rewind symbol on the top. Not sure if I should add an hourglass anywhere but that's where I'm at with it.
@@LuceLucas I bet it´s gonna look really nice! Love the idea of cassette tape with the sentence. You have to show it in a video when you have had it done. You got s new sub tho:) hope for more Eminem (and D12) reactions! have a good night- anne from Norway
Okay, so while Macklemore was keeping his room nice and neat (Yeah) I was getting my ass beat twice a week (What?). Eminem references the opening line of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s song “Same Love” in order to contrast the vastly different-and less ideal-upbringing that he experienced during his youth. When I was in the third grade, I thought that I was gay ‘Cause I could draw, my uncle was, and I kept my room straight This could be an answer to the question why he can’t be like Macklemore and “always gotta smack a whore”-he grew up with domestic abuse, which accounts for his often violent lyrical content. It’s noteworthy that Macklemore collaborated with Skylar Grey on his track “Glorious.”... maybe..??
I don't know. You are right that he once said he likes macklemore. However later in Interviews macklemore said about eminem that even though he is very talented he just claims Black culture and brings him into the context of white privelege
"Honor thy mother and thy father" No matter what your parents do you're suppose to honor them *Does that mean let them abuse you and harm you?* no it just means respect them still love them NO MATTER WHAT *Honor your mother and father is in the bible 4xs and if you don't know whenever God repeats something HE MEANS IT*
Men that ditch their kids deserve this song, thanks Eminem 🙌
The macklamore line is just saying that macklamore had an easier upbringing than he did... No shade just facts
john garvey he was referencing a line from same love
I really loved and felt the emotion in his lines about his dad
Jackson Smith me too and I didn’t even have a deadbeat dad lol

First time in 20 years I shed a tear 😢 on Em’s work ...hit me hard...love this song ....so deep ❤️
Listen to arose from revival about him being in a coma from his overdose and he is talking his girls that will hit you too.
This one is awesome tune. it is heavy. I like the fact that he gave an entire verse to addressing his dad. Perfect. And Skylar is impressive.
THIS ENTIRE ALBUM..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Your rapping at the end there actually makes me wanna listen to MMLP2 after watching your reactions. Reminded me how much I liked it

I can't wait till you react to the song I hate my stepdad it goes way deeper than the lyrics about his dad
It was such a short part, but on Arose when Em says "you taught me what NOT to do." I swear you can Feel the Look on his face

It’s not a single verse, like 90% of the song was about his dad.
Em actually likes Macklemore as an Artist and his music, he was quoted in an Interview, If anything that was a line to shout him out. Not a diss.
I don't know. You are right that he once said he likes macklemore. However later in Interviews macklemore said about eminem that even though he is very talented he just claims Black culture and brings him into the context of white privelege
Still grinding out the reaction.
