We can conclude that one needs a cut to the center arrow rest to get a perfact arrow flight even in the first 10m. We can see on all the videos of Armin that the arrows fly awry and I suppose it's not because of a bad release, LOL.
Finally, received my Riser made by Mark today, great stuff! I can only recommend it, esp. if you, like me, have a bunch of ILF limbs lying on the shelf with which you can play around. Also great to get your thumb step by step used to higher draw weights without the necessity to buy a new bow every few weeks or months. Thanks to Mark for the riser, we stay in touch! And thanks to Armin for making me aware of this!
Great, that Marc Ross crafted a riser for non-mediterranean shooting styles! 👏👏👏☺️ Slavic release would work, too 👍 Excellent craftsmanship as well - awesome! Thank you so much for the review, Armin! PS: A very nice and clean Robin Hood! 😄👍 now you have a small spear!
One of your more unusual reviews , so much variation is possible in archery . Hope you drop the draw weight . Good review :) and the Robin Hood makes it unforgettable
I myself use a Left handed W&W Black Wolf riser and ordered a second left handed grip from RCore and modified it to be used right handed. Works like a charm.
@@wayofarrow Right handed grip won't fit on a left handed riser. Tried it myself. Had to order a left handed wooden grip and modify it myself. Didn't want to modify the original grip.
hello, i didn't really understood what is more efficient with this technologic wood riser is it for more speed penetration for hunters, or ? but very relative precision...
Interesting system. Nice to see a riser made for thumb release. I assume it's a completely different shooting experience? For me, I think it would feel more modern. I think I would prefer a more nostalgic shooting experience. Then again, we all use Archery for different reasons... Great review Armin
if you shoot a lh Centershoit Bow with Thumbsrelease it's you don't need such a torsion like Horsebow, only push the Thumbsroot forward an hold the Middle, ring and little finger thight....the arrows will flight straighter
I have a Hayck crimean tatar bow from Buck Trail archery, very nice and smooth bow and I wanted to try thumb release . I bought a special glove and started to shoot . At 12 meters I shot 0.5m to the right. Then I tried side khatra and the arrows went back towards the center . I would have liked to improve that thumb release shooting but I got a sore thumb : stiff and red in colour the thumb was full of blood and painfull . I rubbed my thumb with anti inflamation cream and after a few days the pain had dissipated. But I don't think I will try that thumb relerase again, I see no benefit except increased draw length .
You wont get such sore thumb problems if you find the right thumb protector that fits you correctly. I shoot 3 finger western bows, but have Asiatic bows that I use thumb release. I hardly ever use the western bows now. I much more enjoy thumb release. My thumb protector is a brass ring type.
@@everythingisalllies2141 Thanks for the advise . I bought the thumb glove on SSA archery . I admit it's rather thin supple leather but I need a glove and not a ring, if I want to compete in World Archery competition.
Lol shooting with three fingers also gives u sore finger tips the reason why ppl wear a glove. Your thumb is stronger than your fingers and the release is waaay better. Thumb release and khatra is archery 3.0 meanwhile Mediterranean and left side is archery 1.0 (stone age archery)
@@Daylon91 You sound very polemical ,I don't see why . All I said is I got a sore thumb, that's a fact , period . Maybe be a thumb is stronger than three fingers, but I doubt it . The surface of each finger in contact with the string is smaller for each finger if you use three and I shoot my 40lbs bows without a glove, and no problem . About arrow flight, just check all Armin's slow motion shots, you'll see that the arrows fly awry in the first 10 m. I have no problem with you shooting thumb release , I don't give a damn.
@@ArminHirmer never owned one, I just shoot trad bows, hence the question, maybe that could be a good video for you to do, compare against a good trad bow, say at 50lb draw weight?
I really really love it a lot... Only thing.. is I feel the wood is a bit chunky... If I could sand a bit of the wood away... Ever so slowly... Just to make it a bit more sleek...
compared to most other ILF risers, mine is very sleek.... you cant change much in the dimensions around the ILF socket part, so that influences what you can do with the rest of the design, I design my risers on a 3D CAD system, spending weeks on the shape till its how I want it.
I'm not a businessman at all. I make them mainly for myself, but have a few to sell as sell. Too much time spent to sand them and choose the wood etc... I'm no ones slave. How much per hour do you work for?
I would love to see you shoot this bow with "Slavic" release with out khatra. I wonder how this would work? Very interesting idea. I have just gotten my Snake bow and have been having fun playing with different releases and trying khatra. I find I like "Slavic" release a lot and I find this type of system interesting.
Interesting bow and nice test as always! ...But I can’t not remark that you seemed to be a bit sick in your last videos... I hope that that’s not the (not existing?) Covid-19, and in any case that you will feel better soon (also, but not exclusively - just to be a bit egoistic - for the sake of the even better “enjoyability” of your videos)!
It looks like it's tilting when u release because of the katra that u do... I know it sounds like a dumb statement.. just watching the slow mo, it makes sense... It's hard to explain why I think that though

Matter of right arrows and clean release :)

01:06 best Armin Hirmer moment so far
Always stop what you're doing and watch when Armin uploads a video.
Joel Turner does this and loves it. Put a right hand grip on a left hand bow and shoot thumb. Paradox really is very forgiving this way.

sometimes I have no idea how my brain works :D :D
That is really cool. I would enjoy that
That bow is awesome 😎. Absolutely love this
Armin, Thanks for an interesting review on Mark's ILF, Most interesting and you only loosed one arrow for your efforts ;) All the best.
That’s really interesting, that’s some really pretty wood on that riser
Really interesting concept ( got ilf ) . Will think of it, for sure .
I myself use a Left handed W&W Black Wolf riser and ordered a second left handed grip from RCore and modified it to be used right handed. Works like a charm.
I'm interested in doing the same on my ilf. Does a right hand grip fit onto a lifted had riser? Do you photos of your setup?

I think this is more for ILF users who want to experience a different technique but still having the same eco system

depends on the limbs you will be using, you can expect results as with a regular ILF bow

works great
Armin Ustath! could it do 31" Draw length without Stacking? :O
Rumor is that a longer draw riser is in the works!
yes
Those Limbs Armin tested, were rated as 68", and he was happy with 30 " draw, so if you put 70" limbs on it you will get 31" draw comfortably.
Wow. And the price is right too. ..... I'm listening

a shallow hook ring from Yuwen bows, the fu hao
If only they could make Compound or lever Thumb-draw bows... :(
ILF bows just look so terribly heavy and bulky, not my taste
