- King Henry VIII had 6 wives. Legend had it that five of King Henry VIII’s wives still haunt England, doomed to wander amongst the loving for all eternity. Catherine of Aragon, her ghostly form draped in tattered robes, could be seen weeping in the chapel where she prayed for a son. Anne Boleyn’s spectral figure, her head still detached from her body, haunted the tower where she was imprisoned before her execution. Jane Seymour, her ghostly face eternally serene, floated through the halls where she once gave birth to the future king. The ghost of Catherine Howard, her screams still echoing through the castle, could be heard in the chamber where she was dragged away to her death. And finally, the spirit of Catherine Parr, who outlived the king and lived to old age, could be seen wandering the gardens, a peaceful smile on her face. But one wife was notably absent from this haunting: Anne of Cleves. Her life had been the least tragic of all Henry’s wives, and so her ghost was said to have moved on from the castle, finding peace in the afterlife.
Here is the fate of the other five ghost wives of King Henry VIII

Jane Seymour did *not* die in childbirth. She died 12 days after she had actually given birth to Prince Edward, generally thought to have been a uterine infection after birth, or from retained placenta.
THANK YOU! I caught that too, was all ready to comment as you did. So poorly researched, no doubt taken as truth to those who don’t know any better.
Thanks for the comment. We plan on redoing many of these with a bit more accuracy. I've learned so much based on great comments like yours!
Even in death, it seems that the wife that got the least attention from
Henry has had a better and more peaceful outcome
She was really the luckiest, she came from a minor family, she got to keep a place of honor at court and even a castle all for herself with annual income
😊😊😅
It sucked to be a woman back in the day wow rest in peace 😢
No kidding! Right? Not even a queen could get a break! Thanks for the comment!
same here but in ancient china
Fun fact: Anne Boleyn’s ghost is literally everywhere in England. 💀
boy! Isn't that the truth. Such a popular figure is bound to pop up EVERYWHERE!
I love this channel so much that I'm going to subscribe. Good work keep it up.
Imagine if Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were never killed and they were both still alive during Mary’s reign what would have happened in your opinion and were would their ghost be if they were not killed by Henry the 8 and instead he sent them away to live in the country
Thanks for the question! Anne Boleyn would have been 46, and Catherine Howard would have been 30. It's possible they would have a similar fate to Anne of Cleves, who died and rested in peace. However, If Boleyn and Catherine had both survived into the reign of Queen Mary I, it's difficult to say what would have happened. Mary was known for her staunch Catholicism and her efforts to restore England to the Catholic faith, which might have put Anne and Catherine in a difficult position if they still held Protestant sympathies. However, it's also possible that they would have been able to maintain a low profile and avoid any political or religious entanglements.
Mary was also known for her fierce loyalty to her mother, Catherine of Aragon, and may have seen Anne Boleyn as a usurper who was responsible for her mother's downfall.
A lot of scenarios to be honest:
One would be Henry forgives Anne boleyn then she would still try to give birth to a son and K-Howard would never be queen...
Queen Mary would never comeback and be in the line of succession....she would stay as an unrecognized child.
- Second if Henry divorces Anne boleyn letting her live then Jane Seymour would be the next queen she brings back Queen Mary to the game, Die because of birth them Katherine Howard is the next queen, Anne Boleyn in another hand would be exiled and her child Queen Elizabeth would be the unrecognized kid.
I love those scenarios! Those would be juicy alternative histories! Thanks for the comment!
The cause of Ann of Cleves is honestly unknown.
So true. It is often thought cancer--but the diagnoses of cancer is ambiguous itself. One thing is certain--unlike other wives she kept her head intact. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for this now I know where to visit next I want to learn more history.
That's Great! I'm coming up with the perfect ghost wife road trip starting at Ludlow Castle and saving Hampton Court Palace (the most haunted) towards the end. Thank you for the comment! We got more great stuff coming!
@@RabbitHoleMysteries great
Cant wait to meet anne boleyn later
What but she died wait do you mean something else?😮
@@aftabkunariaftablog6579 oh it says her ghost roams the tower of london at night
That's the spirit! Anne Boleyn is definitely one of the most intriguing figures in history. Hope you enjoy learning more about her and the other wives. Thanks for watching and joining in on the spooky fun!
Katherine: *bieng chased away by the man she loved the most..*
Anne: *unfairly being beheaded by the king for no good reason..*
Jane: *she was NOT loved by Henry, it was the son Henry cared fr even when she was giving birth the doctor said there’s only one they can save the mother or the son Henry said “the child”*
Thanks for sharing these insights! The stories of Henry VIII's wives are so tragic and complex. Katherine, Anne, and Jane each had such difficult and heart-wrenching experiences. History is full of these intense moments, and it's great to see viewers engaging with them deeply. Appreciate you watching and adding to the discussion!
Always a pleasure…👏👏
Thanks again!
Anne of Cleves was the only one who didn't suffer through Henry's narcissism and she got a house out of the deal. I'd move on peacefully too 🤣
You're so right! Anne of Cleves definitely got the better end of the deal, didn't she? A house and a peaceful life sound pretty good compared to what the others went through. Thanks for watching and sharing - love your sense of humor!
Anne of cleves: *dies due to deppression cuz people say catherine parr outlive henry and his wives WHEN ANNE LITTELARY OUTLIVE CATHERINE PARR AND HENRY VIII*
Wait how did my comment turned black?
they both outlived henry.. duhhh
@@Meliasxr ik
Great point! Anne of Cleves did indeed outlive both Catherine Parr and Henry VIII. It's interesting how history sometimes overlooks these details. Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge!
@@RabbitHoleMysteries ok thank you
I really think ghosts are just the universe's memory. Like a tape player, stuck on a loop
I love that idea. It makes me wonder if the tape player goes both ways. Could we also see memories from the future?
I think those souls have moved on too. However, their images keep playing like a tape recorder in the environment.
Bro what are u yapping about Anne of cleves was divorced and so was Katherine of Aragon not died from cancer and Katherine survived and Jane Seymour died after her son was born the only ones u got right we’re the beheaded queens
Thanks for the correction! You're right, Anne of Cleves and Katherine of Aragon were both divorced, and Jane Seymour died after giving birth. History can be tricky, and I appreciate you pointing out the errors. Thanks for watching and keeping me accurate!
Anne of Cleves house is haunted and it is " believed" to be her ghost.
Why the quotes around believed?
OK. You lost me after the 1st ghost.
How can / could K of A's ghost roam the halls of an English castle when she spent her early formative years in, Spain B 4 coming to England?
I love this question. I wish I could ask it of the ones that report the hauntings. I agree--there definitely seems to be a disconnect.
So where is the ghost of henry
That's a good question! I will look into any stories of his hauntings.
He should be in hell ngl :)
Well to be fair, despite calling her a horse, Anne of Cleves remained close to Henry after their divorce and would often be involved in royal court. She was dubbed as the “King’s Sister.” Not to mention that she became the richest woman in England that time and was fortunate enough to see the reigns of Edward VI and Mary I. So yeah…she might as well hold no grudge against the King and moved on peacefully to the afterlife.
Thanks for pointing that out! You're right, Anne of Cleves and Catherine of Aragon were divorced, and Jane Seymour died after giving birth. History can be tricky, and I appreciate your correction. I'll make sure to double-check my facts in future videos. Thanks for watching and keeping me on my toes!
Catherine Howard 😢
I know, right? Catherine Howard's story is so heartbreaking. It's always tough to think about her tragic end. Thanks for watching and sharing your feelings. History can be so emotional sometimes!
