I feel like the questlines showed where bliz was at with each class. Some classes got easy questlines that win games damn near unassisted. Hunter, Warrior, Warlock and Priest are the big offenders in my eyes. Mage I could only ever get to work in duels. I WOULD point out that druids Questline seemed to see next to no play, but druid is still post-gadgetzan druid so...
Dude, I don't know what's happening anymore. I stopped playing during Karazhan and now there's so much random stuff everywhere, I think I'm just gonna play Classic.
Imo Un'Gore was the neutral balanced, almost all classes were viable maybe except for Warlock, but Frozen Throne chaotic balanced and it was the best thing ever
It was while seeing this that i remenbered why i traded Hearthstone for Legends of Runeterra. I played hearthstone from Wispers of the Old Gods to Rise of Shadows, that is 3 years and, at my best, i had 3 fully functional decks and i never got own a entire expension, i was, of course, free to play. In LoR, i am also free to play yet i currently own about 92% of all cards in the game and i havent even played it every day + there is no card rotation + the game is not even 3 years old
Point exactly, its a baby age card game. You joined hs kinda the time you are now in LoR. Rotation wasn't a thing for years in hs, it was something that was needed as the number of cards etc got out of controll. They will shake up your LoR in time dont worry ;)
@@alexvarai1114 so card games cant be good because rotations? you completely missed my point. Even if rotations existed in LoR, it would still be much better than HS because of how the games are designed and monetized. LoR gains money by selling skins and cosmetics, HS gains money by being pay to win and selling cards. Unpopular opinion, the time immediately after witchwood was my favorite period of the game. All classes had a viable deck, I love Baku and Genn (I still remain convinced that while some of the upgraded hero powers could have used nerfs like summoning a 2/2 instead of two 1/1s, the cards themselves were fun and good), and the problems with balance were almost all in the previous year.
shit i guess I left right b4 it got good, but when I saw rogue nerfs like the prep being 2 instead of 3 and removal of vanish I was outta there. now that I'm playing again I'm sticking with wild so I can at least have vanish back. standard may have scabbs but he's gonna leave them eventually
Literally the only time I put money into this game was for the Frozen Throne expansion. Not only had fun watching players during that time but playing immensly.
"Whispers of the Old Gods" was incredibly fun, even if it came along the single most brutal nerf patch in history "One Night in Karazhan" was fun to play through, but card design was more or less crap the rest seems kinda accurate
I have an unpopular opinion, but I played since the vanilla version and the best experience was after blackrock mountain was released. There still weren't all of those no fun OTK decks while also Blizzard didn't add so many expansions at so short time so you actually could have fun by gathering more cards and not just spending your salary every 4 months on packages. (or played at least a few ours of arenas every day.)
To this day I still have PTSD from Gadgetzan and Ungoro. The meta was so insanely unbalanced Frozen Throne tho was a really good follow-up, it was basically the Pandaria era of WoW but for Hearthstone. Literally EVERYBODY was broken in some way and it was fun
yeah, the developers must think "we need to have more powerful cards in the next expansion, otherwise people will play the new cards" and so the cycle started. Here we are at limitless powerspikes, and stupid bullshit watch your opponent play 30 cards until he ropes or kills you
Personally speaking I thought eveything was great till after booms day (exept the tournament that was fcking boring) and the prime was with frozen throne.
My favorite set ever was Scholomance because all the cards were flavorful and had super unique effects, like Troublemaker. And I HATED Outland though because of demon hunters being way too overpowered, and because of that one priest deck that just copied Reliquary of Souls over and over. I can't really say anything about the newer sets though since I haven't played the game in almost 2 years. I left after making one last deck with Darkmoon Faire cards.
It stopped being fun when ungoro came out. Was fun for a bit in frozen throne. Then went downhill and is still going downhill (and i somehow stayed with this game from release to demonhunter)
