Chester aside, not having Joe would be a huge deal. He plays a bigger role in the band than most people realize.
They didn’t have anyone in the band named Jo. There was Joe Hahn, but I’m pretty sure they can find someone else to push a few buttons and scratch a record.

As a fan for the last 2 and a half decades, I can guarantee you this is no longer about “honoring Chester’s legacy.” This is about moving on, and starting a clean slate with their career that was put on hold due to Chester’s passing. That’s how I see it.
It’ll be interesting if it’s Adam Gontier (from Three Days Grace). There’s videos of him playing some of LP songs live, and he can hit Chester’s vocal ranges pretty close.
Doubt it, but that would be amazing!
He can hit the high notes but idk if the lighter delicate parts would work
he sings amazing, one of my favourite metal singers ever, But there's something you're missing, Adam never screams live, and Last time I remember hearing his screams was in One-X album, but even though he didn't did the screams live, the one who does them is Matt Walst, and Chester screamed a lot
Adam gontier would be a top pick, he is an amazing singer, and as a die hard fan of lp i can say he is the most similar singer that we have to chester. And as a plus he s from the same era of metal. Yeah sure he does not scream, but come on, he has the feel that you need for this kind of songs.
Nirvana should just tour with Adam Sandler. A lot of fair weather fans here.

_If_ they ever wanna reunite, i'm sure they're not looking for someone to "imitate" Chester. They can perform new music; they can perform different versions of old songs (which they'll inherently be, but what i mean is lines being sung in a different 'style'); and for screams specifically, they'd have enough songs in their catalogue without screaming for *multiple* sets.
And for anyone thinking "well that wouldn't be Linkin Park" -- Linkin Park decides what their music is. They've always done so.

A frontwoman felt like the only way to move forward for me since day 1 , today there are lot of women capable of screaming like chester did and they'ld fit well with his range and tone while bringing something totally different at the same time.

To everyone saying "They won't be the same, no one sounds like Chester":
That's okay! I'm sure the band had accepted that, and moved forward, before the thought even entered your head. Different doesn't always mean bad. But do you all HONESTLY think Chester would want them all to stop making music just because he passed? No. He would want them to keep doing whatever would make his friends happy!
You know who I think would be a good fit? Courtney LaPlante from SpiritBox. She has the vocal range to pull it off.
Even if it was just one final tour to give the fans what they want and to honor Chester I will take that and do everything in my power to go see them.

Chester will never be forgotten. Linkin Park was a great band. And I'd love to see the band move forward. I think it could even be possible to play videos of Chester performing some songs too.
Thanks to Mike shinoda still being around a reunion might be possible. But without chester Bennington it just won't be the same. I wish he was still with us.

Fans are too entitled these days, Chester wasn't the only one behind the music and lyrics and just because some members of the band are old family men that don't feel like going on a tour at this point in their lives doesn't mean they somehow aren't getting along or it's a big deal whether they do any of the dates or not

Not suprising, especially seeing how $uccessful the Pantera tribute tours have been, and even the reception that Creed has received. Mike knows that there is plenty of money on the table, and it would be nice for the fans as well.
I feel like none of the people talking shit are musicians at all. Think about it. Imagine dedicating your life to music and your fans. Do want your impact and your music to die with you?? FUCK NO you don't. You want it to continue touching lives for as long as possible. If that means someone else singing or performing your songs then so be it.

I've loved Linkin Park since the beginning. They were my most listened to artist on RUclips Music last year, I bought Papercuts on vinyl. If they other guys want to reunite and create new material, that's their choice. Chester was a huge contributor to the band. No one will deny that. We all miss Chester. At the same time, the other guys shouldn't have to end their careers because of his passing. They mentioned William Duvall succeeding Layne Staley. When The Rev passed, Avenged Sevenfold struggled, but now have Brooks Wackerman on drums. ACDC has Brian Johnson because Bon Scott passed away. The list goes on.
As for the rumors of a female vocalist, I have 2 trains of thought. Either they want a female to succeed Chester because the comparison won't be as harsh. If they do have a guy come in, a lot of people will say, "Oh well, he doesn't sound like Chester." The haters are more likely to attack the band as a whole since they won't sound the same, instead of the individual. I'm sure she'd still catch static online, but hopefully, it would be displaced a bit since the expectation to sound like Chester isn't there. My other thought is that the rumor is a red herring. They're tryinf to stir the pot, but not out a new male vocalist. Before this, most notably, people thought maybe Deryck Whibley would go to Linkin Park, especially with Sum 41 disbanding. He is a close friend of the band and has sang Chester's parts a few times live at different performances. Adam Gontier apparently has some recordings singing Linkin Park. So it's hard to say what will happen. Time will tell.
Spencer Sotelo would be a hell of a choice. He can switch from pop style to harsher vocals excellently.

Spencer Charnas would be an interesting pick and has the same vocal range as Chester, but i don't think they ll ever chose him.

I think LP are looking for female vocalist because they don't want her to be compared to Chester. With all due respect to Amy Lee, there is no way she will be suitable for LP since she doesn't do scream vocals.
I really hope that LP will stick to their old style, otherwise why would they even be called LP?
Won't be the same at all without Mr Hahn, or Rob of course, but totally understand everyone in the band's perspectives and am optimistic nonetheless ❤🤘
Static X managed to make it work. And arguably Eddie is better in SS. Pantera made it work without vinnie and Darrell. Slipknot kinda nade it work. Dont immediately knock it. Let the legend live on.

Mike Shinoda has already stated that he does not like Chester copycats. He also doesn't care for tribute bands.

They could. The band wrote the music but the big songs that made LP had lyrics by Chester! You won’t get the same LP with someone else’s lyrics! Many people don’t get that some bands just can not replace a key member! It’s always best to go in a different direction!

You are absolutely correct. But as fans we need to remember when it comes to bands like Linkin Park or even Static-X, the lead singers were just ONE of the members of the band. So, to say a band shouldn't tour again or reunite because of one member doesn't really make sense. All of these guys put in work to make these bands a success, without the other members Chester would've never been a success in the music industry. Like it or not, that is a fact!

LP’s songs need to be performed live and the fans need to experience it. I’m not sure what that looks like whether it’s a new singer or a rotation of singers, or an audio track of Chester’s voice over live music and a video wall with clips of Chester.
Anybody ever come to think that maybe… JUST MAYBE… that if there is some kind of “reunion” going on, it’s simply a new project with some of the old Linkin Park line-up?… they’re all friends (I’d hope), so perhaps they just wanna make music again but do something new, maybe even NOT under the Linkin Park name??? there's no replacing chester, that's just impossible.. his female alter could potentially be christina aguilera in a way - her range is insane.. female singer is not a bad idea but as much as i love amy's voice, not sure how it'd mesh with lp's style.. but i could defo see taylor momsen - her raspy voice would fit imho, not sure about the heights tho🤔

People fail to mention that the "founders" band was called Xero and NEVER got seen rejected many times .UNTIL Chester joined (and yes they got rejected as well) but then they changed the name to Linkin Park, AND management told Chester to get rid of the rapper guy and do his thing with the band, Chester obviously told them to go f**k themselves so LP isn't LP without chester & if Joe and Rob are both out it's definitely not LP change the damn name and go on there way,

Death To All band did the best thing ever. They hired fantastic singer and guitar player. Every Death band fan love it.
Yeah it will never be the same but they're keeping Chuck's legacy alive and they can do the same for Chester.

As a huge LP fan, this feels... weird. I mean, I am so divided on this news.
Chester was the one that saved me from depression, and his voice, even hearing it today just sends chills down my spine and tear up.
I started hearing LP's music after Chester's news came and one of my friends recommend their music to me. He was distraught by that news, and told me to give LP a listen. Been a fan ever since, and LP'S music hass been an integal part of my ever since. Through my ups and downs, through my battles of depression, and through me trying to give it all away.
Chester saved me. He did. But this news - it just does not feel right to me at all. Not at all.
It's been so long since chester it seems like this is the next best step for them if they wanna do it!

Chester wasn't the only member of the band though lol. Without those other guys "Chester" would be working a 9 to 5 like the rest of us.
It won't be the same without Chester, but it's not like he was a founding member. It's more Mike's band, and he should get the say if LP comes back. Mike definitely won't do this halfway.
I think most would be ok for LP to continue on with a new singer but not a replacement for Chester. More of a tribute to Chester but allow the band to make new music.

What you have to realize is Chester was LP! It was his lyrics that made the band what they became! You don’t hear people praising Mike or the other members were why LP was good! It all revolved around Chester! You will never get the same feel! You will never get the same emotion with those songs from anyone else! It will no longer feel like an LP show, just a cover band of LP is how it will feel!

Who says they're trying to replace him? Linkin Park wasn't one man and maybe they want to do something new anyways. LP was trash after their 2nd album anyways and continued to get worse with each release and maybe this is what they need to get out of that pop sound anyways.

I’m not a fan of the band but I did respect Chester’s vocals & lyrical writing! You can throw LP on tour all you want, but it’s never going to be the same again! Chester was LP! It was his lyrics that brought people in & his vocal style! You can put anyone you want up there & it’s not going to have the same feel that the band did with Chester! It’s basically going to be a cover band with a different singer!
Chester Bennington did not write the majority of the stuff he sang. Linkin Parks main songwriter has been Mike Shinoda since debut.
