Pretty interesting batch this month. Part of the fun is not knowing what you're going to get, so it seems like you're getting fair value for your dollar.
I tried Retro Game Treasures for several months, and I enjoyed the thrill of waiting for the box each month. (I enjoyed what I received a bit less so, but that was back before I started collecting for the NES, so I imagine it would be a lot more fun to get games that way to fill out the collection.) I might have to give Video Games Monthly a shot at some point here, too.
It's 100% a roll of the dice. I've been lucky for about 5 months where I've gotten high value and fun games, but this month was a miss. :) But still, it's a fun gamble and the thrill of the unboxing is a sirens song. :D
Eh, that's not really my style though. I'd much rather look at it in at least a more constructive light. AVGN is very good at what he does, he doesn't need me trying to do a piss poor impression. :)

Keep in mind that the value on games under $10 on price charting is always too high because they average in many eBay sales that are for example $8 free shipping. In the case with most of the games I see you pick up from VGM, most retro stores or vendors at conventions would price these games between $1 and $3. I have not yet seen a VGM haul that appeared to be a fair value for the consumer.
I got Dragon Ball in an earlier box. Very fun. The Mississippi Murder game looks like it would be a blast in English. Pro tip: if there is a game or genre you wish to not receive, like pachinko games. I would check them off the game lists.👌🕹
Tbh, I was thinking of subbing to VGM, but seeing that the carts aren’t always in the greatest condition (like how “atman” came, and the sticker on Alex Kidd), I’m thinking maybe of not getting a box of theirs… how are their disc games? CIB? Original artwork?
I primarily get cartridge based games, but when I do get in a disc game, 99% of the time it's got at least full artwork and original case. A lot of times they're CIB, but I have gotten some without manuals. The stickers don't really bother me, and the cart condition doesn't really get me down because 1) I can clean them, and 2) what I don't want I just trade into my local shop. VGM trade-ins regularly funds my purchases of higher price retro games for the collection - and since it's typically stuff I don't want to hang onto, I don't feel bad about it. :)
oof Batman Forever. I spent a ton of time playing lode runner on the C64 and it is one of the few NES games I have beat. NES version only has 50 levels too. on a river boat and you can fall through the floor... lol. Nice line. The week you decide you like Monopoly I need to be notified. No house rules. Authentic rules and the game doesn't take forever.
Sometimes you get trash but you got the value for the box and random games to add to the collection. Did you get the 20 game mega box? I ordered it and am excited for it . I honestly picked up monopoly on a side order for free a little while ago. With it being free I have no complaints. I actually love monopoly but do know others who do not like it. It’s funny a lot of games I turn off the music and I like to play my own at home so I’m happy with monopoly but having any. I also have Alex Kidd on genesis CIB , Great title. I’m not a famicom fan mostly cause of high chances of getting duplicate titles but can also see the draw cause of the unique carts and artwork . Anyways, great video.
Oh man, Monopoly! I love when you sit in silence and roll dice. Is it even 2 player so you can yell at your brother for buying Reading Railroad when you already have the other 3? The Dragon Ball game is probably the best from the box this month.
Pretty solid grab with the Alex Kidd game! Wonder why they didn’t just call Dragon Power the same here in the states? That Murder mystery game may be interesting once you add the patch. 👌🏼 Monopoly isn’t exciting I will give you that. The video game versions of board games are never all that fun. Now jeopardy on the other hand…🤣 Honestly not a bad box I think…nothing as a super standout but you can definitely have some fun with most of these…except Batman…😂
Murder on the Mississippi is definitely the one I'm most interested in spending more time with - it just wasn't a box that worked for me overall, and that's ok. :) I've had far more success than failure!
Take back what you said about the batman forever film, it's an ok film kiss from a rose is a stone cold classic so was the U2 song Tommy Lee Jones and his ladies were great, kilmer wasn't terrible, take it back I say!!😁 P.s I love monopoly and collect old boxes of it.

Alex Kidd--very nice! BF is a rough one but it's fun to have to always show people what a truly bad game looks like. lol I kinda liked Lode Runner as a kid--I feel like this one could make for a great challenge-based game night offer to pass the controller around with. Pretty cool to get the original game that become Dragon Power. Murder on the Mississippi definitely has some potential. Yeah, passive on Monopoly, most board game offers in video game form really. I don't know, I think your title and thumb were a bit misleading man; seems like a good monetary value of games and you got some good stuff even if it's not specifically catered to you, maybe someone in the house with different gaming tastes will enjoy some of the others (not BF though, just...no). Personally I see quality games, even if they're not 100% up my alley even so I'd call this one a hit over a miss.

I'm sure some people like VGM and don't mind getting garbage games mixed in with good games. To me if your spending 30 dollars a month minimum for a VGM subscription box and you get stuff like trashman forever and monopoly more often then better games like streets of rage 2 or shining force 2, it's better to pass completely
Not as well known as that Batman forever game for being bad but the Batman and Robin game for PS1 is equally just as bad. Like seriously compared to Batman forever Monopoly is a score. As a fan of the Monopoly video games and having played the NES one and the Sega Genesis one kind of looks like the colors are a lot better on the super Nintendo one though the lack of sound kind of trades It off.
