    Beautiful build!! I laughed when you said you still had the factory foot pegs on it though. But that just shows you weren’t replacing things for the sole purpose of replacing them. Great looking bike!!

    Man, I love the thinking behind this build, Patrick. Great use of American-made components, too. It really turned out great!

    I still have my 1984 FXRP - 😎 I'm getting ready to drop an S&S Super Stock 96 inch in mine.
    In 1984 I went into a HD dealer to look at the NEW 883 Sportsters... they were selling for $3999. I took one look at the "Superglide 2" / "Blockhead" fell in love ❤and bought the bike new for $6995, I was 23 years old. At that time they had Shovels and Evo's on the floor at the same time. The FXRP had the 2 inches over front end, running boards, solo saddle seat and NO rev limiter a feature on real police bikes. There's nothing like an FXR..... BEST MODEL EVER BUILT...! ❤🏁 >>>> BTW >>> NICE JOB, LOOKS GREAT.

    I wanted a new '89 FXR Sport when I was stationed in the Philippines but after the payment I wouldn't have had money left over for hookers and beer so I had to settle for a Sportster. The FXR was the best bike Harley ever made.

    No turn signals at all is bold for a bike that does miles and isnt a chopper. I supposed you could swap the taillight for one with signals built in and put some LEDs in the grip ends. Cool build.

    • @LeathalLefty1

      I’m fine with hand signals. Put 50K on my Dyna with no signals , less is more 😂

    Can you give me any info on retaining stock wheels and converting
    from tapered roller bearing to more modern sealed bearing. I didn't measure
    yet but I would think sealed bearing would be larger in diameter.

    At least it has a cool paint job that doesn't look like a 90s chopper with a technicolor paint job.

    • @jinxbottleflip1942
      @jinxbottleflip1942 Год назад

      As far as a patina paint job goes its actually kinda lame, you want the paint worn down at all the high spots first not just willy nilly here and there because it'll look crappy like his kinda does, I just painted my a Similar color with a can of spray paint for $25 and I swear it's a better job than his, if I could show you I would

    Great bike but man I'll never get the way people do bad patina paint jobs when there is no reason. You could have exposed that tank and fenders and gotten some REAL patina and it wouldn't look fake as hell. All these people do these and they almost always do those horrible drips going down. It looks so bad because it resembles NO REAL PATINA. You can't get that look naturally. Just age your sheetmetal yourself and it would look so much better. Oh, last thing about these paint jobs, why do people paint rust on plastic? Everyone knows that little club style fairing is plastic. I'd bet that if you showed the bike to a 10 year old from New guinea that they would tell ya it's plastic. Painting rust on plastic is just silly as hell and fake as hell.
    Lmao at my long ass paint comments. If you love it, good for you. And again, great bike (with bad paint. Lol)
